Today when I got home from school, my mom told me that our great-grandmother from Wisconsin died this morning at 1:30 A.M. She was 95 years old, but she wasn't doing so well the last few years of her life anyway. I remember when I was little and I used to live in Wisconsin, and every week or two my mom would take me to her house. I'd always take toys, coloring books, and all sorts of stuff I found fun back then when I went to her house. I had some good times with her, but I don't feel too bad that she died. I felt a little sad, but I'll be OK, don't you worry.

Hope she rests in peace, 95 was a fine age, you're lucky to even have known your great grand parents.

I won't go into too much detail as our experiences sound almost identical but I know what you're family must be going through. Sorry for your loss dude.

Because maybe she wanted to talk about it? Meryl, if you want to talk about it and not have to deal with douchebags go into our private forums.

Also, sorry to hear about your lost. I never knew any of my great grandparents. I only have one grandparent that is alive right now.

I'm not here to please you or anyone else.

I just see threads like these as ways of trying to get pity. Call me a dick, a douchebag, I couldn't give half a shit about what you say, I'm just saying what I believe. Like I said, I'm sorry for your loss, but I don't see a reason to make a thread.

Wow, I thought you just said you thought you were mature in OH? Then you come here and tell this poor fellow, who lost a beloved family member, that they just want pity?

You're pathetic, kiddo.

That was a joke back in OH. Of course I'm immature. I'm a fucking 16 year old. Thats besides the point.

If you wanted to talk about a family member you just lost, wouldn't you talk to another family member, somebody who actually knew the person who died rather than a group of people you don't know who knows nothing bout the person at all? All we could tell Meryl is "sorry for your loss.". Maybe I'm just wierd, but I think talking to family about a death rather than strangers.

edit: you want to continue this, take it to PM. I don't feel the need to interrupt this thread with more arguing.

I understand it's not easy to lose anyone you cared about, no matter who they are. But like the first to people to post, I have to say, consider yourself damn lucky you even knew a great-grandparent. Not many people can say that.
Love is blooming in my pants.

While I wasn't too close to mine, it was really sad when my great grandmother passed away too. 95 is a good age to be at, mine was 93 I think.

Sorry for your loss Meryl, my condolences *hugs*

RIP, she must have lived a good life :)

Truly sorry for your loss. When my great-grandmother was alive, I was just a kid, so I didn't get very emotionally touched when she died. But she was always nice to me. Just thinking about it makes me sad. My condolences.

shame to hear that, just think of what she lived through though. She musta experianced some of the greatest historical moments 20th century. Things like television and radio that were brand new, she lived through 2 world wars, the first computer, so on and so forth. Musta been a pretty exciting time to be alive

R.I.P though. I know how u feel however, when my gran died i was upset but i wasnt very very upset. I guess in your head you know she was old and it was going to happen one day, and at least she went peacfully and had a great life :)

She would have had a brilliant, long life, and not many people can say they knew their Great Grandparents. I'm sorry for your loss, it's always hard.

Sorry to hear about that, losing loved ones is always rough. Though if at the very least, you could possibly take solace in the fact that your great-grandmother lived to see quite a lot in her lifetime, something not too many people can really say in this day in age. All the best for you and your family, bud.

We have arrived.
As Big-K and many others have said, you were probably very lucky to have known your great-grandmother and been able to get to know her. 95 really is an amazing age to live to.

R.I.P.
Sorry for your loss.
