Uh... That was a plutonium rod... But, uh... I don't think it's accurately represented.

Radium?

"Yes, from around 1913 to the 1960s, they did contain radium, and they did glow green. But the radium itself did not give off a green glow. The radium was mixed with a chemical called a phosphor (made from silver and zinc sulphide).

^From the article — so, it looks like it's a mix of things. So, you mean like glow-stiks, then, yeah?

Plutonium is white. It doesn't shine green no matter what you do with it, but Uranium is green under A UV light.

Do I look like one? Hahaha... And I can't stop thinking you look like that chick in your picture and drives me crazy... Well, I'm writing a book and I was really bad at chemistry in school and I need to know the most powerful and radioactive element that terrorists, yeah, use to make bombs...

Hm. *scratches chin* I dunno what it would be, really. Nukes aren't really my bag.

As for the glow though — there's no one element. Nothing radioactive glows like that. Sorry I can't be more help. :(

well the used to use Uranium thats what the bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima used. but i think that the newer ones use Plutonium. but if we're talkin terrorists then it stands to reason that what ever nuke they could get it'd be Russian made. sooo.... what did the Russians use?

If they're near A UV light, it can be uranium.

Well, nothing goes chhhhh when near radioactive material, so I assumed he was talking about a Geiger counter.

Again, it's a Geiger counter. It's not really important whether it goes tickticktick or chhhhhhh or bananabananabananabanana when near radiation.
