Argh.. LIQUIIIID!

Seeing as how the notion of 'everybody getting sick and tired of MGO' is a well established one, I thought that it may be good to create an actual thread with some foundation, investigation and surveys (unlike the millions of "I hate MGO *whinge, cry, whinge* threads that plague the world wide web).

I know that I deeply loved MGO for a long time, but am finally starting to see the downside to it all.
I'm not alone in this respect (as earlier stated, the internet is full of forum threads and rants about the negative sides to MGO).

So rather than having a million threads on MGSF with topic titles similar to "I HATE MGO", "F*CK KONAMI" (etc, etc), I thought that it may be an idea to actually create a thread where people can discuss what they think are the key problems with MGO, and how it can be a better game.

In order for this to work, please do not use this thread to vent your frustration about MGO in general.
That's what I'm trying to avoid. We need some good and mature discussion.

Let's start off with some simple questions:
1. When you first ever played MGO, what was your opinion of it?
2. Has that opinion changed? If so, how?
3. In your eyes, does MGO have a key problem that causes people to behave so angrily and foolish on this title? Does it bring out the worst in people?
4. Would you agree that MGO is a game that you love on a certain day, and can possibly hate on the next day?
If so, why is that?
5. Is there enough 'Metal Gear' in 'Metal Gear Online'? Does the game really feel like a Metal Gear title to you, or does it feel more like a casual shoot 'em up that features characters and music from the MGS universe?
6. How often did you play when you first discovered MGO? Do you play it more now, or less than you originally did?

My answers to those questions are:
1. I loved MGO when I first played it. I found the idea of hiding in a box from user controlled enemies largely refreshing to that of hiding in a box from AI enemies. I liked the character creation, the fact that your character name isn't tied to your PSN name, and the inclusion of characters from the MGS series. The gametypes all seemed largely fun, too (eg: I hated Capture the flag games before I played CAP on MGO).
2. My opinion on the game has changed dramatically. Logging into MGO feels more like a chore than a good hobby now.
3. I think that MGO's key problem is that Konami doesn't seem to care much about players outside of Japan.
The Japanese players are always being given extra items in the reward shop, better World Tourney competition prizes, better connections (because they are actually close to the Japanese server, unlike NA and EU).
In general, the Japanese get a much better service from Konami. I think that is the source of MGO's problems for me. I think that this accumulates and ends up being reflected in the game, shaping the way that people behave when on MGO.
4. I do 'love' MGO on certain days, and 'hate' it on others. In general, I feel sick when logging into MGO and end up asking myself "why do I still play this game?".
However there are still many days when I say to myself "This is the best online game out there".
I would put this down to the attitudes of other players, as well as the toll that it takes on my own.
5. I think that MGO feels massively alien in comparison to the rest of the Metal Gear titles.
The 'run and gun' elements are completely the opposite of what MGS was intended to be.
To add to that, there are actually barely any people of my MGO friend list who have even played an offline Metal Gear title. I think that this in itself speaks volumes.
6. I play much less of MGO now than I used to, mainly due to the fact that I played too much of it at first.

So, discuss. Again, please avoid turning this thread into a complete moan fest.
Consider good and bad points of MGO.

"OMG! THIS IS SO GREAT! I AM SO HAPPY I FINALLY CAN PLAY MGS ONLINE WITH FELLOW FANS AGAIN! XD"

2. Has that opinion changed? If so, how?

Eh, somewhat. It depends on who I'm playing with.
I still look forward to the weekend where I have time to play MGO with my great pals who also enjoy the series. :)

3. In your eyes, does MGO have a key problem that causes people to behave so angrily and foolish on this title? Does it bring out the worst in people?

Yes. KEY PROBLEM: DeathLooping
Enough said...

If so, why is that?

Yes. To me, it's more than a game. It's competition. I try to be the best.
If I've already stacked almost 400 hours on the game, it's not for fun...
That is why I hate bad Survival nights, and love good Survival nights where I improve my level and receive 150+ GP. ^_^

5. Is there enough 'Metal Gear' in 'Metal Gear Online'? Does the game really feel like a Metal Gear title to you, or does it feel more like a casual shoot 'em up that features characters and music from the MGS universe?

No.
Unless if I am playing with my clan, it feels NOTHING like an MGS title.
Rarely anyone uses teamwork the way it is meant to be used.
It's SOOOO much more enjoyable with teammates that work together.

6. How often did you play when you first discovered MGO? Do you play it more now, or less than you originally did?

In the beginning, I really sucked.
Plus, the game wasn't as good until the more recent updates, specifically the December update.
That's what really caught my attention. It was easier to upgrade level and I got a hold of the controls.
I most definitely play it more now, seeing as I used to be hooked onto CoD4 back in August when I got the game.

MGO is a great game.
It can however be made better.
It has been improving recently, and I hope that continues. I've been meeting more friendly teammates.
Not, the only REAL problem, is DeathLooping. Once that is fixed, MGO will truly be a satisfying experience.

You're going as my wingman. Flight suit up!

1. When you first ever played MGO, what was your opinion of it?

First time I played MGO was about summer of 2006. I loved it a great deal. Oh wait.. you mean this one. Ok well the first time I played MGO2 was during the beta testing. To be honest, I absolutely loved it. I loved the updated MGO. It was a lot of fun. The people playing were mostly all die hard MGS fans and people played for the fun of it. I know Kal and sad will agree with me on this. Also this was before the continual reduction in range and damage of every gun in the game.

2. Has that opinion changed? If so, how?

A most emphatic yes. I despise MGO now. It's filled with laggers, moaners, and glitchers. The community for MGO is some of the worst from every game I've ever played and this includes Halo. Also with every update it seemed Konami just continually tweaking the guns to make them even more ineffective than they already were. They have horrible range, and damage. Fucking hell you take your time to line up a perfect headshot from across the map with the AK or M4 and nail the guy right in the head and he still is not dead. You have to be right on top of someone to kill them effectively, encouraging run and gun tactics.

3. In your eyes, does MGO have a key problem that causes people to behave so angrily and foolish on this title? Does it bring out the worst in people?

Well I said before the bitching and complaining is worst mearly because of the text chat. Most of the people that complain do not have mics. Those that do don't ever even use them to talk. I think most people get pissed off because of the ranking system. People are so concerned with their damn rank and in MGO you can lose it. You can reduce in a high rank like 15 to 14 or perhaps be a Fox and move down to Doberman. So people get really pissed off (unrightly so) if they suck. That leads to more text spamming and more hosts quitting the server ending the game. It definately doesnt' bring out the worst in people. I'd say real life war and real life problems do that. In the gaming community? Oh hell yes. Like I've seen before I've never seen a worse community on a game.

4. Would you agree that MGO is a game that you on a certain day, and can possibly hate on the next day? If so, why is that?

I suppose so. I can sometimes enjoy MGO but since no one on my friends list plays it anymore because they hold the same opinions about it as me I really can't even if I could.

5. Is there enough 'Metal Gear' in 'Metal Gear Online'? Does the game really feel like a Metal Gear title to you, or does it feel more like a casual shoot 'em up that features characters and music from the MGS universe?

Nope. During the beta of MGO2 I continually kept thinking "Wow, this is Metal Gear. This is awesome." I never thought that once playing the full title. It feels like a third person run and gun shoot em up with MGS settings and weapons. Nothing about this game says Metal Gear because no one cooperates. No one coordinates moves or utilizes the SOP system. They don't stealth around to get a better angle. I'd say that over 96% of people on MGO have never even noticed the binoculars.

6. How often did you play when you first discovered MGO? Do you play it more now, or less than you originally did?

When it was first releases full time I played it quite a bit. Right off the bat I loved it as much as the beta. Then rather quickly it just started falling apart for me. Everyone with a PS3 had the game even if they'd never even heard of Metal Gear. They probably described it as "the game with the old guy on the front cover." I never play MGO anymore. Once in awhile I'll look at the rewards shop and get something cool just to see my character in it but never actually play.

Oh and by the way, I probably will really never play now. Since my PS3 broke I'm assuming that I'll never see my old characters, map packs and gear again. I'll try calling Konami but fat lot of good that'll do me. I honestly feel like Konami doesn't give one shit about people who buy their stuff anymore.

The things I hate about MGO are as follows:

1. Motion bug : when you throw a grenade and they land then teleport somewhere else or when I looks like they roll or fall off something at a hieght and teleport back up

2. Lag Switchers, KS, DL.

3. People who play to much and kick WAY too much ass then Chuck Norris intended

4. all the 11-14 year old immature whiny players who shout out things like "Suck my dick" or call you something racist like (Sorry->) sand nigga. Today's youth truly sickens me.Oh yea and also the sexist nerds out there.

Questions

1. When you first ever played MGO, what was your opinion of it?
Oh..My..F*cking..God...

2. Has that opinion changed? If so, how?
Same thing over and over again but hey aren't all online shooters like that?

3. In your eyes, does MGO have a key problem that causes people to behave so angrily and foolish on this title? Does it bring out the worst in people?
Like alot of games there is a rank system, and with the rank system some exclusive rights are attained via high level (Think SURVIVAL teams, I'm good but my level stays at 11-13 because of farming, afk, ect) so people get all cranky and grumpy when it comes to there ranks. like all game in existence...

4. Would you agree that MGO is a game that you love on a certain day, and can possibly hate on the next day? YES
If so, why is that? Some days you can get in a real fun match and others it will just feel boring

5. Is there enough 'Metal Gear' in 'Metal Gear Online'? Does the game really feel like a Metal Gear title to you, or does it feel more like a casual shoot 'em up that features characters and music from the MGS universe?

Nah, what more could we ask for? story mode? We got tsne and a bunch of other sneaking elements which is the true essence of Metal Gear

6. How often did you play when you first discovered MGO? Do you play it more now, or less than you originally did?

At first I played around 1-4 hours and now I could flip it on for 30 minutes and get bored

1.

This is so cool! I love being able to actually deceive and evade people. You have to use your brain to play this properly.

2.

My opinion has changed completely. When booting MGO up I now feel like im about to get realy angry or realy happy with no in between. Since the DL glitch has come along I have been angry alot more. This no longer Tactical Espionage action either, its Third Person Call of Duty in slow motion.

3.
Key problem: Truly, the most agressive, abusive, angry and intolerant online community of any game I have ever played. This in my opinion is a a result of MGO's extremely competitive nature which brings out the worst in people. Konami should scrap the dynamic leveling/GP etc system currently in place and instead implement a Call of Duty style system whereby you keep a level after acheiving it. This way you don't have to worry about your stats nearly as much.

4.

I hate it one day and love it another. Depends on how survival goes. DL'd into oblivion many a time resulting in rage attacks. 5 streaks all over the place another day = :D

5. Needs more practical ways to avoid being spotted, more reason to use cqc and more classic Metal Gear items in the shop. Also some more stages based on previous games would be nice. A Big Shell map would be great.

6. I played every day when I first got into MGO. Now its just survival and unranked zombie games.

That's actually untrue bud, it's not your PS3 that keeps your KID and GAMEID in check, it's your KID. As long as you didn't delete that, then you'll have all the stuff you had on your old PS3 should you get a new one. The only difference is now you won't have all the music you unlocked since that's part of the system. That's about it.

1. When you first ever played MGO, what was your opinion of it?
When I played MGO1, I was amazed at how outstandingly fun it was. Then MGO1 died and out comes MPO Online, got bored of that within a week. Then along comes MGO2, and honestly it was quite enjoyable. I liked the customization in soldiers, the levels, the weapons, SOP, and all the new moves that made it stand out among the other MGO's. But I still missed the uniques, and missed the much more enjoyable levels on MGO1.

2. Has that opinion changed? If so, how?
Yes. Honestly, I don't blame Konami for this, but the community itself. As far as the GAME goes, I feel that it has gotten better and better. Much more levels, incredible unique characters. Sneaking is still as fun as its' ever been. MUCH more variety in character looks that make your characters feel much more fun to play as. But honest to God, people constantly ending games, constantly kicking and bitching and moaning again and again and again. GP IS GOING DOWN!!! KIK OR END!!! I'M QUITTING BEFORE I LOSE PTS!!! FUCK THE NEW QUITTER PENALTIES!! People spend more time complaining and talking smack towards one another than they do actually playing. And because people do so much gloating, because almost every room limits you to how you can play on a comfortable level, it just gets to the point where you really don't feel like playing.

I don't mind the weapons being tweaked, I use SVD everytime anyway, and I barely ever headshot people anyway since I'm always aiming for the body, heh. Because so much senseless ego is involved, and so much immaturity from hosts of every room you play, I simply have a hard time having fun. And if I can't have fun playing, then why the hell play? I don't care about ranks or RP levels, or GP, I just wanna have fun.

3. In your eyes, does MGO have a key problem that causes people to behave so angrily and foolish on this title? Does it bring out the worst in people?
The Text Screen. That's pretty much the only word I can use to describe it. People get so bent outta shape over a simple game that they really bitch too much. Honestly, I would HAPPILY lose the text if it meant people couldn't talk trash to one another.

4. Would you agree that MGO is a game that you love on a certain day, and can possibly hate on the next day?
If so, why is that?

I don't HATE the game. I just don't play video games often in general. But when I DO play MGO, I generally either enjoy myself, or I just don't play. I wouldn't play the game if I hated it. Period.

5. Is there enough 'Metal Gear' in 'Metal Gear Online'? Does the game really feel like a Metal Gear title to you, or does it feel more like a casual shoot 'em up that features characters and music from the MGS universe?
Depends on how you play it. TSNE and RES most certainly. It's definitely not a casual shooter, because I get bored of those much quicker than I do MGO. I mean, teamwork is something I love to see, SOP, people telling each other where enemies are, strategies, I see that and enjoy it. But as far as TDM goes, as far as SNE or CAP goes. What do you expect? Of course it's gonna be run and gun, the purpose is to kill all your enemies before they kill you. What else would you do?

It's not a matter of how anyone else plays, it's how YOU play. And even if everyone else is running and gunning, you can still Solid Snake the bitch. Hide in boxes, wait in holes, even hiding in the shadows in black gear or in the grass with leaf or green camo. It's all on the PLAYER to make MGO actually feel like a Metal Gear game.

6. How often did you play when you first discovered MGO? Do you play it more now, or less than you originally did?
Generally around an hour or two tops on any day I felt like playing. Today, same time, just I don't play as often.

1. When you first ever played MGO, what was your opinion of it?

It was my first Online game on PS3, so I think it was natural for me to be impressed.

2. Has that opinion changed? If so, how?

I find it alot more annoying now. GP and level I'm not too concerned about, just want to be able to enjoy the game without the hassle that seems a formality now.

3. In your eyes, does MGO have a key problem that causes people to behave so angrily and foolish on this title? Does it bring out the worst in people?

People can't handle getting beat. Simple really, if you utilize the skill system, you are a "n00b" for picking whichever skills. Everyone expects you to play in the exact same way as them, which causes a problem seeing as the game is open to a variety of gaming styles. That also makes the game unique, in a sensse.

4. Would you agree that MGO is a game that you love on a certain day, and can possibly hate on the next day?

Yep.

If so, why is that?

I find if it's free battle, it depends on the hosts. Seeing as I can't host myself for whatever reason, it's just a case of finding a game type I wish to play, then hoping the host is not an arse. Tend to find that if there's a bad host, usually the games are crap. If we are talking survival, again, it just depends on the teams you run in to.

5. Is there enough 'Metal Gear' in 'Metal Gear Online'? Does the game really feel like a Metal Gear title to you, or does it feel more like a casual shoot 'em up that features characters and music from the MGS universe?

Most definately not. Though I can how it's hard for the true feeling of MGO to be implemented into a multiplayer game.

6. How often did you play when you first discovered MGO? Do you play it more now, or less than you originally did?

Played it quite alot, but left it and never touched it for a while after getting Killzone 2. After my clan went their seperate ways, I decided to pick MGO back up and play it again. I probably play it less than I did though.

i think it has 2 KEY problems with it. 1. the animations in the game engine (search up "the truth about lag" on youtube if you dont know what im talking about) with the teleporting and canceling out of animations and 2. the glitchers, ESPECIALLY Deathloop and Lag Switch.

its not quite pure metal gear solid but it has an undeniable MGS feel to it and it has all the sneakiness and stealth as well as the run and gun for those who are all about it, but MGO is pure tactics whether it be sneaking and scanning/CQC or run in, rush the target with runner 3 and win, or snipe from a far distance. to me that is the whole philosophy behind MGO is using tactics against you unorganized enemy.

I only played on the weekends when i first got it(for i didnt have a PS3 at home) so i never had the chance to play everyday to make sure my skills were sharp, and also i got less time to learn, improve, or keep stats up. but now i have my own PS3 and i play it everyday and i have improved IMMENSELY, i have so much fun with it now (exception of glitchers and lag and stuff) and i have a GREAT clan that i love the game more than when it first came out.

I really enjoy online games, I enjoy playing with real live people not just A.I. bots. But I get bored of the repetitive FPS gameplay so this is where MGO really suits me. Of course it helps that I've been playing Metal Gear games since Solid game out on the PSX. But MGO makes it so easy to communicate with who your playing against weather it's voice, which almost no one uses though, or simple and easy text. Of course with the text based chat it makes it easier for people to complain and insult because they're hiding behind their lettered syllables and not their own voice. With the countless amounts of clans on MGO it's easy to join one with many players, good or not, and play with the same players regularly. Which I find incredibly fun playing with people regularly. It really makes MGO half online gaming and half social networking. Which seems to be a really good combination.

No. The game is still great. It's the players that determin what happens, weither other players can have fun matches. And that's where it goes wrong more than often.

Yeah. They should just IP ban, or PS3 ban, whatever, everyone who glitches, spawnkillers, and all that shit that kills the fun/stealth.

It feels like a shoot 'em up, but again, that's decided by the players that play the game. Apart from that, it does have a lot of fun Metal Gear stuff, like the cardboard boxes, magazines, etc. Would be nice to see some gekkos, cameras, or other CPU controlled enemies in the matches though.

1. When you first ever played MGO, what was your opinion of it?

I played the Beta, and i enjoyed it a lot. The general community were better imo, and many different tactics were seen more often. I found it hard, but it kept me motivated with it's unique gameplay.

Quote:

2. Has that opinion changed? If so, how?

Yes, in several ways. I play at a "higher level" now, and i have noticed myself improving which is a good feeling in a game, found people i enjoy playing with and been in clans that i remember in a positive way. But I'm sorry to say that the community is one of the biggest cesspools in online gaming i've ever seen. There's too much negative attitude and too many people taking it far to seriously, even in a non-stat or training room :/ But overall mostly positive things.

Grade Points. Without GP i think there would be less glitching at the very least, and Ranks can also do a certain impact. But at the same time GP is an interesting concept, just like the levels they don't show your amount of time played, but your current "form" in the game. I think the ++/— display also has a negative impact, and mindless elitists picking on newbies. And Konami? They sit in Japan and make female only tourneys, sponsored tourneys and stuff like that - for Japan only. They have done a relatively good job recently though, actually pretending to care about banning cheaters.

If so, why is that?

Very much yes. But most of the time i like it.

More like inbetween those tbh. It's NOT a casual shoot'em up, MGO is far deeper than that. What other such games allow you to do things as stun, scan and other such techniques? It's a special sort of teamplay that's inbetween Team Fortress and Counter Strike in my opinion, and it actually rewards both run-and-gunning and stealthy gameplay - just like MGS, but maybe rewards "John Woo" gameplay a bit more.

Whenever i play my PS3 i usually dip into a few games of MGO now and then. And i have done this all the time.

That's pretty much it

i got gta4 and mgo free with my PS3. Didnt even know about the online side of MGS4 until i was messign around with the tital screen. Found it, loved it and was hooked on it, often playing 12 hours sessions!!

2. Has that opinion changed? If so, how?

yes, ive been playign it for over a year now and im a decent player but not a great. Ive got a decent clan and if it was not for them, i would not be playign MGO any longer. I used to love every aspect of the game, now i only like survival when i play with my mates. 2 times a week at tops/

DL is the single biggest problem at the mo. it ruins the game when players get 2 kills for one and the victim loses all of his DP along the way. The community is terrible and full of scumbags and i think the entire game is generally very user unfriendly until you get to know your way around.

yes, i love it or hate it depending on how many cheaters we run into on any given survival night.

not really, aprt form TNSE mode or games with my clan where real stealth can be applied.

i played it nearly everyday for about 7 months, with some long sessions in there. I never touched a different game for over 7 months!!!!! now i only play survival but that may be coming to an end soon with MW2 coming out and UNCH2 as my clan members are also becoming so frustarated with the cheaters, they feel it might be time to move on to a new game soon and ill probally be joining them. None of our clan have ever done the DL cheat even once.

1. When you first ever played MGO, what was your opinion of it?

I liked it, but since I sucked and didn't really have a good clan, I was thinking of quitting it. Then I saw a few vids on youtube and thought I'd try it out. I got better and loved the game.

2. Has that opinion changed? If so, how?

After I got my unlucky 'break' from MGO, I've kind of detached myself from the game as a competition and don't feel the same need to play it continously. I still like it, but I get bored of it more easily.

3. In your eyes, does MGO have a key problem that causes people to behave so angrily and foolish on this title? Does it bring out the worst in people?

Deathlooping is by far the biggest problem at the moment. But it brings more frustration on victims rather than users, and who can blame em. I get pissed myself. It doesn't bring out the worst in people, but it makes people give the game up. It's a shame, since all Konami need to do is give a damn, and this game could become on of the best online games ever.

4. Would you agree that MGO is a game that you love on a certain day, and can possibly hate on the next day?
If so, why is that?

Yes, because sometimes you'll play with friends and don't give a damn what happens, cause you're just playing to have a good time. The next day none of your friends are on and you'll play with random cheaters or leavers. When it comes to online games: Friends = Fun. Nuff said.

5. Is there enough 'Metal Gear' in 'Metal Gear Online'? Does the game really feel like a Metal Gear title to you, or does it feel more like a casual shoot 'em up that features characters and music from the MGS universe?

In the game itself there are a lot of options which allow you to play the game in true MGS style. Sad thing is, over 90% of MGO chose not to play with these options and treat the game as "just another online run and gun game"

6. How often did you play when you first discovered MGO? Do you play it more now, or less than you originally did?

I played it less when I first started. Then I left it. When I started playing again, I was addicted. Nowadays if I get my net back, I'd hardly play it as much.

1. When you first ever played MGO, what was your opinion of it?
i thought omg ppl are to good :D but seriously i thought it was a good idea although i put it down for 6 months then came back to it and tried to "get good" :P

2. Has that opinion changed? If so, how?
tbh it hasn't really there are people on it that are exceptionally good but you don't come across alot of them(well i don't) unless it's tourny or surv.

3. In your eyes, does MGO have a key problem that causes people to behave so angrily and foolish on this title? Does it bring out the worst in people?
yeah mentioned before the gp/levelling system and the text chat but it would be hard to talk to teammates ingame to talk about tactics etc, also DL no further comment need lol

4. Would you agree that MGO is a game that you love on a certain day, and can possibly hate on the next day?
If so, why is that?
i love it every time i play just because of some of my clan memebers or "friends" lol but then you encounter ppl that gloat when they beat you even when there a higher level and probably should be,and DL in general but more so higher levels that should'nt need to DL

5. Is there enough 'Metal Gear' in 'Metal Gear Online'? Does the game really feel like a Metal Gear title to you, or does it feel more like a casual shoot 'em up that features characters and music from the MGS universe?
and again as said above it matters on the player on how he plays.

6. How often did you play when you first discovered MGO? Do you play it more now, or less than you originally did?
i used to play it hours on end and get 9 hour health warnings now i only play surv n tourny then maybe some free battle or automatch later on after they've finished

Indeed an awesome thread

1. When you first ever played MGO, what was your opinion of it?
Finally a Stealth online game. I love Metal gear and now I can have it all the time.

2. Has that opinion changed? If so, how?
Definately. If I don't have any knowledge about a game I see everything with the pink fanboy glasses. I like everything, I don't see any problems. Now seeing the lag, glitching, DC and DL problems, I definately don't enjoy the game as much as I used to enjoy it.

3. In your eyes, does MGO have a key problem that causes people to behave so angrily and foolish on this title? Does it bring out the worst in people?
Death Loop and the wrong location of the servers are definately trhe key problems right now. However that#s not why people behave like dicks. They behave like dicks because they are dicks. They can't lose, they can't accept a "digital" dude on the other side of the world being better as them. No matter how flawless MGO would be, the guys would still behave the same way.

4. Would you agree that MGO is a game that you love on a certain day, and can possibly hate on the next day?
If so, why is that?
Like every game I know, no matter if online or offline. One day I love to play street fighter, the next day I don't even wanto hear the name. Same with MGO though on MGO it's definately more based if I'm (the clan) is successful or not. If we win a lot, I usually always have fun, if we lose I hate it.

5. Is there enough 'Metal Gear' in 'Metal Gear Online'? Does the game really feel like a Metal Gear title to you, or does it feel more like a casual shoot 'em up that features characters and music from the MGS universe?
2nd definately describes how i feel about the game. Maybe not like a casual shoot'em up, more like a "slow" TPS. It definately hasn't as much non stop action as games like Lost Planet or even Uncharted 2 but it definately isn't really about stealth. Nowadays even TSNE is more about rushing than hiding.

6. How often did you play when you first discovered MGO? Do you play it more now, or less than you originally did?
Without exagartion, I started playing the game at the end of June 08. I think that around March 09 I had 200 hours of gameplay. Now, November 2010 I've 470 (?) hours of gameplay. So, yes I guess I definately play way less MGo than before but I gues that is natural. if you get a new game you always play it like crazy. After some time you've enough of every game.

I'm not tired of MGO, I just can't find people who really enjoy the same game matches I do, aside from friends who don't own the game. In turn I can't find the time to play with the people I'm looking for as most prefer just TDM run and gun matches.

Just a "bad" player base for a tactical game in my opinion.

1. Pure fun. I started playing last year and everyone was focusing on one thing : Fun. Later on everyone wanted to be good and the Whiny Pr0s come in and the gitchers come in.

2. It has changed a tad bit. Too many games have people bitiching about stuff and they dont focus on the main reason of the game, fun.

3. The Animation lag. When I nade people and they fall back to earth and I shoot them in the head after, most say OMFG HACKER because the locations are all f'ed up.

4. Yes because People can cause this. The Stress can be too great and I can just quit.

Edit: I'll do the rest later lo

1. My first opinion was "Man, this is a great game." I used to just play for fun and not worry about stats, gp, level, etc. Now the game feels competitive to me, so I care about my stats, gp, and level.

2. It has, really. It has changed because of all the glitchers, jerks, etc.

3. The key problem that drives us all to go crazy is glitchers. It causes all of us to get angry. If Konami can get their lazy asses up and try to fix those glitches nobody would complain about it anymore. ANother thing that makes us all mad is the lag. I hate surv and tourny with dp. Everything lags like a *****.

4. I love it and hate it. I love it when I do good in surv and tourny but hate it when I do bad. Sometimes I ask myself "Why am I wasting my life on this shit?" But then again, I love the game.

5. It feels nothing like MGS. You can't be stealthy in MGO. It feels like a shoot em' up game to me.

5. I play it more now because I want to get better. Before it was just a game that I played for the fun of it. Now it's competitive for me.

1. When you first ever played MGO, what was your opinion of it?
I liked it, first 3rd person shooter I ever played
2. Has that opinion changed? If so, how?
Dont like the leaving ban they put on you, especially If you want to leave because of glitchers
3. In your eyes, does MGO have a key problem that causes people to behave so angrily and foolish on this title? Does it bring out the worst in people?
Nay, I laugh at those who let anger consume them
4. Would you agree that MGO is a game that you love on a certain day, and can possibly hate on the next day?
If so, why is that?

Not hate, I just leave it for a while after my disliking it for the banning leaves <_<
5. Is there enough 'Metal Gear' in 'Metal Gear Online'? Does the game really feel like a Metal Gear title to you, or does it feel more like a casual shoot 'em up that features characters and music from the MGS universe?
The only game where it feels slighty metal gear is when you play as snake in TSNE, even then its not the same.
6. How often did you play when you first discovered MGO? Do you play it more now, or less than you originally did?Probably less :D . I am a decent level now so I only really play for fun knife games really :D
