The Boss to Surpass Big Boss
|
Well, on Saturday I went out and bought a new, used car. It's very exciting. It's my first car and I'm not the best when it comes to cars. But I have some knowledge. Now, I can make more sophisticated stuff work with cars then this, but I just can't seem to figure it out... The answer might be super simple, but I tend to think things through too much anyway... So here's my question... My car's audio only works on one side of the vehicle, the right side. I tried to move the balance all the way to the left, and nothing. The only sound coming out of the left side, was the back. I just can't stand listening to music if it isn't equal sound from all directions. Now, I feel as if that is a wiring problem, right? I should open the door and tighten the wires. Correct? Here's the other question... The radio that came with it is quite nice, and in excellent condition. Except for one thing, the lights appear to be fading only enough to cover up 1 letter. Like if I was listening to a radio station called, oh I don't know, MGS Forums Station, my radio would say: MGS FOR MS STATION. What can I do to make that one light reappear again? It just bugs the crap out of me... I have a feeling that it has something to do with the car's battery...? I don't know if it matters, but it's a BMW 323i. And yes, I realize a gaming forum isn't the best place to ask a question about cars, but I don't feel like going to some random car forum to ask these questions. I'll be treated like an idiot by the smart people...-_-'' |

Alright. I talked to my friend, he said his parents have a Toyota that had the same problem, and all they had to do was have the wires tightened. I mean, it seems logical, I just want to make sure before I tear off my door only to find hundreds of different colored wires to try and tighten...-_- |

Yea that sounds like the problem as for the light on the radio mine has done it before, but after a week or so it came back so I am not sure if their any real problem with it or not. Sounds like he put the radio and all in himself and did a half ass job. |

Maybe so, but the radio has the BMW trademarked sign on there. Perhaps he got another BMW radio and put it in there, but I guess I'll try and wait it out. It's the small stuff that really bugs a person..I swear... XD I'll wait for my father to get home, I may need some help, and I don't want him to walk in only to see the car missing a door. ![]() I'll let you guys know if I have any further questions and how my results turn out. EDIT: The radio lights are fine now. It's been about 2 days. XD Edited by SolidSnake2012, Nov 11 2009, 11:42:30 PM.

Ahh the first car. I remember mine, a ghastly blue Suzuki, lasted just under a year in total before it was wrote off in a drink-driving accident (I wasn't drunk, the other prick was. I broke my arm and lost my car, he broke his spine and lost his ability to move. Fair trade). |

Yup, they work just fine now. I did nothing to fix it. I just gotta open the door and find out the problem with the audio... |

I know, it really shook me up at the time and still effects me now, I've gotten into fights with people at clubs who contemplate drink driving or talk about it like it's cool. I am somewhat of a hypocrite (and by somewhat, I mean total) as I often drive after I've been smoking marijuana (not while and usually hours after I'm high), but I've never had any repercussions from that, I've been told my driving is the same. But yeah, don't drink and drive, people die. I did get the last laugh though. Insurance payoff plus compensation for my broken arm meant I could afford a brand new full spec Honda Civic. Well, the deposit for it, I've still got about a year of payment to make. |
