Its probably been about 8months since I played mgo almost everyday. Then it became just maybe a few times a week then a month to haven't touched it in months. I come back to try and pick up where I left off but I seriously don't know where to start. I totally lost touch and I mean I completely lost touch with this game. I am that guy that cheers you up even if your doing bad because you say to yourself "oh hey atleast I am not as bad as him".

I sucked to begin with but I usually could stay around like a (0.90-1.05) k/d ratio but I'm lucky to even have something like (0.50) now. But its become almost impossible to even headshot even if I was spraying. My aimming is horrible. I've already read some other threads about not using af skills or using 1 shot or bursting but that doesn't really seem to help for me. Its like I never played a game in my life how horrible I am playing. So any advice I will take.

How should I aim/where should I aim, like where around inside the crosshairs?
If I have to run and gun where should I adjust my aim to then?
what speed should I have my aimming and cameras set at?
Any wep I should try using?
Best setup of skills or even just best noob friendly ones?

Just like anything would help.
I still enjoy this game and really want to get into it again.
Sorry for the long read but any advice will be appreciated

Whenever Aiming try going for the head, it usually gets you faster skills. When playing TDM my usual skills are Assult rifle 2 and Handgun 2, this gives a balance of both and If you run out of ammo in the middle of a firefight its easier to get a headshot with a pistol. Boxpopping is a good way to avoid attacks, when an enemy fires at you quickly tap L2 so you go into the cardboard box then out of it, then fire of a shot a their head. Also if you aren't a high level I suggest the Ed or Jonathan lobby's because they are for lower leveled players, good luck ^_^

1. Aim at their head. If they are really close to you, us AA (auto aim), rather than spraying, hoping for that headshot.

2. Don't understand the question.

3. On the first page in your gameplay options, change all those numbers to 7. On the second page to the right, change that number to 10.

4. Whatever helps you the most. I use an assault rifle most of the times. The thing I don't seccomend is using something like a shotgun in a big map and a sniper rifle in a small map.

5. It depends on what game mode you are playing. EX isn't going to help in RACE.

Thanks for the replies and I will try some of these out to see if I pull myself out of this stump of mine.

As for this question here: If I have to run and gun where should I adjust my aim to then?

I ment like when you have to shoot when running. I know when I have to shoot when I am running my accuracy just goes from bad to worst. I could always stop but of course the easier I am making it for me to shoot them I am making it more easy for them to target me. Should I just keep on aimming for the head even though the bullet spread goes everywhere and almost all miss or should I try aimming for body shoots when I know some more will hit.

i have a couple things to say here, for one, EX is actually usefull in race if someone is trying to wait around a corner for you (but im saying all that because i have been using nothing but CQC EX on everything but TSNE) but when you are running i have found that you should aim a little above their head cus for some reason the bullets tend to end up on the bottom part of redicle or that is just more chance for a tray bullet to hit the head, for noob freindly skills i am not quite sure, but any level of assault rifle skill would help you, also if you have lvl 2 or 3 of SMG's use those for SMG's have little to no recoil depending on which one you use. also i agree with the AA comment, USE IT IN CLOSE QUARTERS. also use ENVG's if you find them, they tend to help.also learn to use smoke nades in stead of frag nades cus they lead to easy head shots, and also learn CQC, couple CQC and AA and you most likely have the kill.

Try to get their head dead center in your screen. You'll get it after a while..

You never have to run-and-gun. You also should keep the camera so it's following your guy. For example, don't have the camera hovering over your head, otherwise when you aim, you'll aim at the ground. Try to keep it leveled with other people's heads so it's easier to get a headshot on target.

Everything of mine is set to 10. You get used to it after a couple days or so.

That depends on what map/gametype you're playing.
If you're playing on a big map, like say, I.I, then I'd recommend a sniper. If you're playing on a medium ranged map, I'd recommend either the AK or M4.

Go make a preset for your skills. So they change on their own before a game starts. That way, you can set a, say for example (this is what I use):
For TSNE - CQC 2 + Scanner 3 + Sixth Sense 3
Then make another preset for TDM/BOMB/CAP/RES/whatever others you see fit using:
Assault Rifle 2 + Sixth Sense 3 + Monomania 3
If you have no yet leveled monomania to 3, I highly, HIGHLY recommend you use it.
For games that are more fast paced, such as RACE use:
Runner 3 + Monomania 3

Those are all of the skills I use.
Give or take the AR2. When I see fit, I'll take that out and throw in something else. Depends on my mood. ^_^

for me i have basicly been using nothing but CQC EX. and i switch my guns to semi auto, it makes a HUGE difference and i suggest you do the same when you get more used to the guns, because full auto tends to be inaccurate at range most of the times, i have switched to using semi auto with assault rifles at all times and i like it for it is very accurate.

Always aim so your opponents head is in the center of your crosshair.
If hes in box, aim above the center of the box, when he pops out he gets headshot.
If he rolls forward aim on ground, since hes most probably going prone.
ALWAYS aim on corners, since anyone can camp there.

Try running in circles with random stops to shoot.
Best advice i can give you is to never move and shoot at the same time, only if youre really close.

I use 10 for all so its as fast as possible. I recommend you to try all the settings and see which one you like the most.

M4, whenever possible use M4, if you cant, then take AK 102.
For sniping i recommend M14 EBR (i personally prefer Mosin though).
And for handguns, try Mk. 23 (SOCOM) and OPERATOR.
Rest is easy.

That depends on game type, but mostly use RUNNER so youre faster target and WEAPON+ skill, which depends on your weapon of choice (like ASSAULT RIFLE+ skill for Assault Rfiles etc.).
Other one i can recommend is MONOMANIA, since it shows the guy you hit to you so you can see what he does for few seconds.

Thanks for more of the replies been finding a lot of this information useful. I seem to be relying on my AR3 too much though. not sure if thats a bad or good thing. I'll start leveling mono now since I haven't yet.

And for handguns, try Mk. 23 (SOCOM) and OPERATOR.
Mk.23 is godly with auto-aim, even now after they nerfed it. It's got such a long lock-on range and rate of fire (learn how to tap R1 at the right tempo, too fast is no good)

95% of the time I go with Mk.2, it's a handy little pistol that requires a bit of practice but in the end worth it if you or any of your teammates are using Scanner Ex, or want the numbers advantage in objective games. The way I 'got good' with it was just going in Combat Training and doing run n' stun against people using ARs for a week or two.

Auto Aim comes in handy for more than just Handguns...

If you're fighting close range spraying for a headshot, switch on AA.
It works for me.

And boy oh boy does it get the higher levels pissed. ;)

You have it disabled. GO into your gameplay options and enable it. Once you enable it, press square to use it.

@ SS93: Lol. It does get them pissed. What gets me pissed is if you always use it.

I remember I was in surv. I swear this guy used AA on me every single damn time I went by him. He would just come from behind and use it the whole time. Quite annoying <_<

@ Koukin: There is no need for AR3. It is just a waste of a skill slot. Try AR2. WHen you get better, try using AR1. Also, never use AR3 in maps like BB. I always use AR1 in maps like BB.

If it's a big map, you still shouldn't use AR3. Just try using AR2. Lets say if you were using an AR and you see someone across the whole map, and you are trying to get him, don't keep shooting, trying to get him. Just tap your AR. Trust me, those little taps will get you a nice HS.

Also, for the AK, I just tap it three times and stop. I don't keep shooting with it, since you will never get a nice long distance HS. Just tap it three times while aiming at their head. It is the best way to shoot an AK imo.
