Well actually it's not hunting it's population control of feral hogs that are destroying to farmer's land. Feral hogs do almost 2000 dollars of damage a head if they are not controlled....and that's why we hogs in this area are destroyed like this. Now only in that instance do I approve of the following video. If it was just merciless killings for the hell of it that would be horrible...but since this is for taking out feral hogs that are hurting our crop intake well...in the end it's us or pigs. And I'm pretty sure they round up the pigs providing some more food for the local people there and some pretty tasty wild bacon. So anyway if you don't like seeing pigs get shot from a helicopter by AK-47s and AR-15s then turn the hell away. You have been warned...this isn't a debate thread and if you debate then make a thread about it then. Spoiler: click to toggle

my cousin does this in Texas it's pretty good money actually he gets about $300 a hog which he splits with his pilot and his bud. some times he'll get ten pigs in one contract 10 x 300 = $3000 lol like i said it's good money. and it's not breaking any laws so long as the pigs are on the farmer/rancher's property they need to play vagner while they hunt the pigs... like this!v lol Edited by Beagle, Dec 13 2009, 08:34:36 PM.

It's funny to see legal poaching going on in the name of $aving farm$, yet the federal government does absolutely nothing to strengthen domestic farms who are foreclosed on a daily basis. The United States government lets hundreds of farming companies implode every day, meanwhile the farmers who are still holding on for life are making most of their money by exportation. Rarely does any of it make it to local grocers and markets. $2000 in acreage damage per hog is the average? Poaching is still illegal. How much damage does a farm sustain when the current regime (or the previous one and the one before that, and the one before that) allow foreclosures to happen on American farmers and then see their land traded to foreigners in exchange for collateral on foreign debt, which happens directly through UNESCO. It's been going on for decades. Shooting wild animals while in transit from the air isn't going to help farmers. Look at the foreclosure rates on domestic farms in the last two decades. If you're in Canada, the UK, or Australia you can do the same as the UN is also your lawmaker, police man, and liaison to the World Bank,. Your country's privately owned land, as well as federal, state, provincial, regional, and municipal parks (owned by the taxpayer, slave to the Queen, etc) are now property of UNESCO (and their Biosphere network) and literally being handed over to foreign investors in exchange for trillions of dollars in cash. How much fuel do they burn while flying around poaching animals? Do neighbors mind the noise of low flying helicopters and semi-automatic bullets? Is it cool to ride around in a helicopter with the door open while shooting semi-automatic rifles? This looks like a fashion statement more than anything else. I think they watched Full Metal Jacket one too many times with the scene of the guy who keeps saying "get some". Can these winners not join the reserves or join the army and do this for real? Do they not have the balls? What is the issue? This video reminds me of the trash in Iraq and Afghanistan who drive around shooting citizens who are driving to work. Not to be confused with the video of the soldiers in Afghanistan who bump traffic in their hummer in order to clear a path so they aren't sitting ducks for a mortar attack. It takes a certain personality to shoot unarmed civilians while stationed in a uranium depleted dusty dustbowl. The same who might ride in a chopper and shoot hogs like a scene from Exploder II to save a farm that Uncle Sam is already ready to allow the banks to foreclose on so it can be sold to Indian or Chinese corporations so they can build another set of Strip Malls and Box Outlets and Wal-Marts. You are full of the biggest amount of bull crap I have ever heard. Did you not hear me say...this is not a debate thread. Go make a thread. There I can ignore you like I'm going to ignore you for the rest of my time in this thread. Shut up and go away....you were not asked to watch the video...I warned you what it is. Helicopter hog hunting. It's in the title. Hogs create LOTS of damage and it is VERY hard to hunt hogs on the ground or on horse back...it can be done but is more costly in the long run. By taking to the air in a helicopter it's faster and yield more hog death which means more feral hogs who damage farm land are killed. Get out already. It's not poaching it's pest eradication. Completely different. So take your snotty bull crap somewhere else. Jesus Christ almighty. Edited by Captain America, Dec 14 2009, 08:54:08 AM.

No honestly I've never gone hunting. It's only in the past year I've started to collect my own firearms. I want to hunt deer with my Mosin Nagant....but yes people still spear hunt. I hear it's quite fun....also revolver hunting is also nice...hell I've heard stories where some hugs are just so plane mean that you have to shoot them 3 times with a .357 before it goes down. IN the video you see one of those mean hogs...he had to get shot 4 to 5 times with an AR. |

Oh, that'd be fuuun. I've read some awesome stories of knife-hunters encountering these things. Exciting! Y'know, there's a company, 'Extreme Shock' or something, that boasts a specialized 9mm round that killed a 500lb'er in a single shot. I guess that's cause for comment now, after what you've just told me. I guess, knife-hunting one would be suicidal, huh?

uh... yeah! lol the least thing you want when your hunting these pigs is a .357 and a long charge if you can help it when my cousin hunts recreationaly for hogs he either uses his 30-40 Krag or his 454 revolver it's a rageing bull like this one except he got it custom painted in that flat black paint

unfortunately not everyone can enjoy this experience as it's a government subsidized program... although major funding is provided by the farmers themselves. you need special permits to do this thing and as far as i know there are only two companies in texas that do this. the rest have to hunt on foot. which is how i prefer to hunt to be honest, one partner a blind and my uncles 1903 Springfield good times and if we're lucky we get some venison or boar meat
