Konami's upcoming PSP title Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker has been delayed over a month. The game was originally penciled in for March 18 in Japan, but will not be released on April 29. The Western release dates will not be affected: the game will still be released on May 27 in Europe (May 28 in the UK) and on May 25 in the US. According to Konami, the game has been delayed as additional time is needed to make final modifications so that the title meets consumer satisfaction. Well, not always. MGS4 was released simultaneously around the world. Which is one of the main reasons I'm so pissed about the delay for the PAL release. If Kojima Productions (the same team that is working on Peace Walker) can release a game on a new (for the team) format at the exact same time around the world, why can't they release a game that they have experience working on at the same time as well? |

I suppose they'll claim it to be things like boxart differences and language differences but really I don't see how that can delay procedings by a month, but hey at least our release date(s) haven't been affected (yet).

Id rather it be good and late than on time and mediocre. Why is it released in the UK 1 day after the rest of europe? As far as languages go we only need english, it doesn't make sense to me (and we have the same rating system as the rest of europe now (PEGI) so that can't be it. |

I'd say MGS4's delay was justified. The original release was supposed to be 2006, but that was way before the team got their hands on the final PS3 'product', before then they'd been working with prototypes. Then the script got a rewrite in early 2007, pushing it back to November before finally settling on June 2008. A major delay on a game for a device the developers have made games before however is pretty unforgivable though. |

Heh, and since Europe gets it a day earlier, what's the odds Ireland will be chucked in to the "UK" listing for this too, just for laughs (and no reason of course).

The same happened with Halo 2 (not that I cared, I dont care foe halo) It was released on the 9th of November EVERYWHERE, except for the UK. It was released on the 11th instead. I dont know if it was just so that it was on remembrance day or what but it seemed like they were just doing it to spite us) |
