This weekend I got bored playing MGO so I decided to try somthing different. Basically I decided to play without killing. I equiped cqc3 and scanner. I would then go into a free battle TDM and proceed to run around... grab, disarm, scan, ko, pickup their dropped weapon, and run away. It was fun and challenging and often times a little bit lawlzy (it turns out some people get pissed if you repeatedly steal their weapon and don't kill them so they can quickly get a new one.) Anyway... my question is... Do you guys have alternative ways you like to play just to get a break from the monotiny? (including funny ways to troll that you don't normally see) |

I like to use stealth tactics. Magazines and CQC are one of my best friends. Of course I like to scan too (got Scanner EX not too long ago  ).I also sometimes prefer to Snipe and sometime "Run and Gun". |

I hate to be the "Well-I've-been-doing-that-for-ages" guy, but... well... I've been doing that for ages, guy! FORGIVE ME! Non-lethal gets people so riled up and presents such an intense challenge... screw it; I don't think I can explain it any better than I did here. Glad to see there are other like-minded folk about! I've been trying characters with weapon limitations recently: Pistol/Support/Knife or just CQC/Knife. Nothing quite as good as playing non-lethal, mind. EDIT: Also, for added humiliation, when you have stolen their gun, run around the corner, drop his gun and place a non-lethal trap (SG/Mag/SS/Whatevers) so that the dropped weapon case blocks it. lol this reminds me of a time in survival a while back when my clan was all lvl 11-13... we were facing lvl 15-17s again for like the 8th match in a row. When i hear my clanmate on the mic say he is going all non lethal in a BB RES match. CQC EX equipped. I was dead and watching him on the cam since he was in first place. He grabbed one and KO'd and knifed him, then grabs another and sees one more when he does the cqc hold and shoots with the mk2 he gets the HS and then kills both with the blade again... then he stuns one more before getting capped. It was hilarious, the other guys were telling him to GTFO noob... lmao. he scored like 50 some points. it was great. Im gonna be on later, and I have a new alt i havent touched yet, so i think I am going to go all stun and just leave ppl. |

lol i got a stun alt too...so damn funny to piss ppl off with it...but even on my main i play in many different ways... when i want to be "serious" i just run n gun but sometimes i feel like sniping, shotgunning or even shielding... too bad 99% of the mgo communitty seems to think youre a noob if youre not just another guy who cant do anything but run aroiund with a m4 |

Recently ive been playing a lot of the "zombie" rooms. And actually... ive found myself to have a lot of fun with them haha also i love the base knife and mags only. also really fun and easy way to level up knife trick or 6thsense. |

I met a player (I don't remember his name) that always play like that (in his presentation message he wrote "prefers not to kill") The funny thing is that he is a very good player so it was very useful to be his teammate and find many players sleeping all around the map and easily kill them

A couple of guys I know have characters with no kills - Zeus Ex and El Zilcho. Zeus was in your blunt:Edge clan for a short time not long after you started up if I remember. They're both good players, I play a lot with El Zilcho these days, so I get a lot of free kills, providing I protect him in some of the stickier situations. We work well as a two man team, pretty fun way of playing - Van |

Problem is Vamp usually hates being killed and will quit if you beat them, especially with CQC (god forbid). |

Zeus didn't have any kills on his character for a very long time, now he has one he picked up by accident, accidentally killed a guy on the attacking team in a team sneak, really really unlucky. The non-lethal only stats are rather impressive. Is it more of a CQC discipline than relying on MK.2 head shots or Mosin-Nagant sniping? What are the rules to VAMP games? I saw a few in lobbies but never joined (mostly since many are non-stat matches) ————— Speaking of invented games I've seen these around the lobbies: CITY - From the descriptions, it sounds like a MGO version PSN Home. Chatting instead of fighting. PRISON - Something about guards and prisoners? I saw one where it demanded in all caps that everyone must follow Ocelot's orders and to escort Snake to him when found. FIGHT CLUB - Unlike those somewhat silly role-playing ones mentioned above, this one sounded pretty straight-forward and a good way to build CQC stat. I joined a rare Fight Club session to see what was going on. At Urban Ultimatum, everyone gathered on the SW red building's roof by man-cannon (to get to the raised platform). Two fighters battle on the raised middle part while everyone else stands at roof level and cheers/jeers as spectators. Next-in-line fighters crouched on the metal part of the platform. Once someone is KO'ed, next in line jumps in the ring, the defeated unconscious get dragged out and revived. It started out organized, but it soon devolved into a chaos of line-cutters, mad-punchers, and rollers with the host barking long strings of text orders as helpers tried to strangle trouble-makers interrupting the "tournament." Can't recommend Fight Club as a fun mode. More of a mode for codec goofing-off than fighting. Edited by Saikyo Mantis, Feb 6 2010, 06:50 PM.
