When Solidus loses his eye. Scene before the Harrier battle. Snake's jumping off the bridge onto the tanker. The part when Snake, Raiden and Hal walk in slow motion on their way to Arsenal Gear after Emma's death lol. |

-The Tanker. The entire part. Probably MGS at it's best right there. I wish the whole game took place here. It would have been great fun getting to knock guards off into the sea and sneaking round the ship disarming Fatman's bombs. -Fortune Battle- Loved this. It was very tense and really made you wonder just how the hell you were going to survive it and defeat her, and indeed you couldn't. The end video where you shoot Vamp- "There's no need for sorrow Queen!" was probably Dead Cell's best moment. Plus this scene gave Konami a chance to show off their fantastic graphics. -Fatman's Final Bomb. Like The Sorrow's boss fight this one moment really required you to think outside the box and was really satisfying when I found it. -I Need Scissors 61!- Despite my comment about wishing the whole game could have been set on the tanker, the final section in Arsenal was epic and this bizarre moment where the Campbell goes nuts was very freaky. -Fission Mailed- Like the above moment it was another crazy moment. -Cutscenes from the defeat of the Metal Gear Ray's to the moment Arsenal crashes into New York. I thought the videos here brilliant. From Olga's death to Ocelot revealing the secrets of Fortune's power and the S3 plan which meant that the similar events of MGS2 to Shadow Moses weren't just lazy writing. -Revolver Ocelot. He was simply magnificent here. "The colonel will be joining you soon Comrade!" "Sergei, looks like you were long overdue for retirement!" and my favourite ever MGS line "That's abusing your right of free speech Mr. President!" |

There's ALOT for me to pick from but I'll pick the one that wow'ed me the first time I saw it. The whole scene after Raiden Beats the Rays and Solidus first shoots Olga in the head with style then fucking going nuts on teh rays with a friggin P90, sure it aint realistic but it's fucking cool. |

Solidus was using some kind of special ammunition though; an APEI (Armor Piercing Explosive Incendiary) type that doesn't exist in real life, or, at least, in any publicly know capacity. The 5.7mm x 28 SS190 round was designed to penetrate body armor as its foremost function — couple that ability with a large magazine capacity and high firing rate, the P90 has applications as a tactical SMG, or an Escape and Evade defensive weapon. Basicaly, it's a full-auto .22 (high velocity) in its standard form — doesn't penetrate walls, doors, etc. Just body armor and people. Windows too, probably, but you get my point — RAYs used cramic armor, IRR, and the P90 penetrated. So, for Solidus to shoot as he did, and cripple RAYs, he had to have been using something quite different than what the Tengu's had in their weapons, which, I belive it's said in-game was the SS190 round. If I had to guess, based on how it performed on Olga, the ordanace Solidus had only exploded on contact with hard surfaces, like a RAY headpeice or Aresnal Gear's deck (the deflected rounds shot at Ocelot exploded). It's also possible Solidus had a mixed load magazine — one of the APEI rounds and normal SS190's loaded in some kind of pattern — SS190, APEI, SS190, APEI |

I actually gave that same theory a year plus ago. The thing was taken from "ghost in the shell" like many other scenes and inspiration thingys, putting armor piercing rounds into a sub machine gun and stuff. EDIT: Actually I was kinda wrong it was High Velocity Rounds in a Submachine Pistol. Edited by sadistic_greyfox, Feb 8 2010, 08:42 AM.

Actually, Shirow was inspired by FN Herstal's design of the P90 — the basic shape of the lower receiver and magazine feed has appeared in quite a number of Seburo guns, as have subsequent desigens; the F2000, etc. |

Yes, but that scene infers HV ammo as being capable of penetration not by virtue of design (like AP ammo) but as a by-product of function — it shoots with such force that the armor simply can't hold up against it. APEI works differently — either exploding on contact (EI rounds), or penetrating, then exploding with a delay. But, hell, maybe you're right. |

The Campbell glitches/Fission Mailed stuff were unprecedented. The Harrier Battle and it's cutscenes were phenomenal. The death of Emma under the blood red sunset was well done. My favorite part is the end battle on the Roof of Federal Hall. It was a fitting way to close the story. The Manhattan scene leading into closing credits complimented the morale of the story and it's relationships. Arsenal Gear and onward was a complete surprise. It was great to end it in the palm of the Illuminati like that. |

@ Orcapie, Maybe I'm right? *grinds teeth* Go watch Ghost in The Shell 1995 and notice the similarities between it and mgs2, there are manyyyy including the very opening scene of jumping off a high structure with stealth camo on. Hell even the very cerebral aspect of both. MGS doesn't always have the most realistic of bullet penetration or damage, I just think someone, either Kojima or someone working along side him, took a decent bit of their inspiration from GiTS, one of the reason's why MGS2 is my fav game

I said maybe, because we don't know for sure. So, nyah. Besides, stealth camo was a Predator thing first, if I recall correctly. XP |

Predator had stealth in 1987. And Lethal Weapon 3's plot focussed on black market armor piercing rounds based on the real-life hollow point "cop killer" bullet which was legal to buy/sell at the time. Many writers and directors lift material from Ghosts In A Shell, b/c stripped down it is a philosophical wet dream that Jordan Maxwell probably wrote in the 70s to mid 80s. You guys need to get a room. Off topic. Off topic. Off topic. Off topic. Off topic. Off topic. Off topic. Off topic. As always. |

The entire Ema scenario... I was like seriously reeling from the events... I mean after all I've been through with that girl... Even though she annoyed me, I did so much to bring her to the computer room... I killed, sniped, and dragged that doll across every obstacle... Then Vamp shanked her... I was like WTF! She can't die after all that... What about the annoying swimming lessons? What about shooting all those annoying claymore to keep her alive? What about that juicy debate shared between Otacon, Snake, and her? Why didn't Snake get to take her out on a date (had to use a microphone to listen in on Snake when Ema was crossing the oil fence). The fact that she was shanked was annoying.lol Like wow.lol Though it made the experience that much better... |
