well mgs has been a playstation exclusive and now mgsr is coming for the pc and xbox but most of the xbox and pc gamers did not play mgs because it was not on their platform so if mgsr continues after mgs4 they wont understand what is happening cause mgs has a story unlike those fps s out there tell me what you think.

Isn't that the point of it going multi-plat? So that everyone can play it? I'd say sales on Xbox and PC (not singularly, together) will probably eclipse those on the PS3 for the simple fact that it's the first game on a different console than the Playstation since MGS2: Substance, even if it's possibly a spin-off. I feel like it will sell no matter what system simply because of, like mentioned, MGS not being on any other system outside of Sony systems (save for that one MGS on the original xbox) before this one.LOL! Irony at it's best. Edited by KALASHsixtynine, Feb 8 2010, 07:47 PM.

Hopefully Rising wont be too connected to the original series, so you won't necessarily had to have played the previous stories. I don't see how you would have to, all the antagonists (Big Boss, Liquid, Ocelot, Vamp) are dead. |

360 is my main console - and Ps2 was my main console last gen. Ps1 before that. I'm not loyal to brands, only to people who are providing me the best gaming experience. My point is, just because people own 360's now doesn't mean they ALWAYS had Xbox's and never had Ps2's. To answer your question, yes I will be buying it for my 360. |

 MGS1 and 2 were on PC, and MGS2 was on Xbox, so the Xbox/PC gamers would have SOME understanding of the storyline. |

I'm sure they will. As said before, Metal Gear has appreard on Xbox and PC as well as Playstation. That said, from what I've seen at least, it seems that Xbox fans want Metal Gear Solid 4... badly, it's clear that is not going to happen so Rising is pretty much a must buy for those who wanted MGS4 and/or are new to the series. As for those who owned previous Metal Gear games but missed MGS4 do to its Playstation exclusivity will probably want to check it out. |

It's not even about appearance on the console! It's about assuming that people have always gamed exclusively on Xbox or PC JUST because they own a 360 which is just plain ridiculous. I'm tempted to lock the topic. |

Well, it's not completely out of line. I've heard multiple 360 fanboys claim that MGS4 is coming to the 360 eventually while disregarding any knowledge on the topic. So I would say they definitely would eat up Rising. But regardless, I would think the game will sell well for all of the platforms. Especially being that Raiden has been transformed into the Cyborg Ninja, people are going to go nuts. |

As it's been said, many people may have owned Sony consoles in the past, or had an MGS game on another platform. And for those who are new to the series, the Snake/Big Boss/Patriot story is over, so if Rising is a spin off, or post MGS4, it may not matter that they've never played a previous title. |

^this. I think the story will be mostly different from other MGS games. Maybe some small references. Then again, maybe that's just what I'm hoping for. But a lot of gamers bought MGS4 from the new gen of kids that never played any of the older MGS games. So I think they will. Of course when it gets good review scores. |

Yes but the xbox gamers who have not played mgs4 will not know how ocelot vamp and big boss die(unless they watched all the cutsenes on youtube) if you know what i mean. But anyway i have a feeling that mgsr will be more of an action game than stealth because now a days shooters are sold more. ^Yeah, a bit rude my man. I mean, you're on a board with a bunch of English speaking peeps, proper grammar always helps. Anyways, that all depends if it's going to take place after the events of MGS4 or not. If the game is set post MGS4 then none of that would really matter because it should be its own game. No doubt there'll be references, or at very least easter eggs that people new to the series may not totally understand, but in general, I really doubt it'll matter if you have or have not played a previous MGS. |

I played MGS for PC (Integral version) MGS2 and MGS3 on the PS2 (And why not the MG and MG2 in Subsistence :P) And MGS4 in the PS3.. I had no preferences.. But DVD vs Blu-Ray will make the difference in cutscenes or CUT CONTENT!.. And a possible DirectX 11 implementation on the PC Version, if we're talking about graphics.. I think everyone must wait until they leak some information about the differences between the different plattaforms..
