The much awaited Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP is releasing this Wednesday and Hideo Kojima is very busy with its launch party that is going to happen in just a couple of days. In his recent tweet just a couple of hours ago, he hinted that he will be announcing something big for Peace Walker. He said that it should hint something about the new “Metal”? Could it be a new Metal Gear that is tied up to Peace Walker? He also said that you won’t really enjoy it until you have played the game…

Today, Hideo Kojima and his team will be very busy for the much awaited release of Peace Walker. What could this announcement be? Another Metal Gear Solid game for the PlayStation 3?

What the hell is up with that supposed "Banana Tart"?

By the way, betting £100 it's something to do with Vocaloid.

Nope, their attempt at humour on that last episode was just pitiful. I preferred it with Ryan but that's looong gone.

*Raises hand* I do. I'd rather they spent more time on the news, rather than trivial bullcrap. :(

They said it was the launch party for it in Japan, must have been a mistake.

Oh I remember, i'm sure sean and his bum chums said it was a press conference, I dont think it's premature to announce it going gold for japan though.

Monster Hunter Bosses to appear in MGS: PW

Monster Hunter Bosses to Appear in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Famitsu reveals something that is sure to make a ton of money.
By Kevin Gifford, 04/06/2010

In addition to special-ops agent, rogue soldier and rugged beard-wearer, Snake is apparently getting one more job in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker — monster hunter. Really.

This week's issue of Famitsu magazine in Japan touts a collaboration between MGS director Hideo Kojima and Ryozo Tsujimoto, producer of the Monster Hunter series for Capcom. The tie-in, which apparently has been the works for a couple of years, means that Peace Walker will have a (bonus?) section featuring Snake venturing into the world of MH, stout Felyne companion by his side.

Snake in MH-land will work just like he does in the real world, using his mastery of camouflage and close-quarters combat to dispatch the exotic beasts and other meanies in his way. He'll also be able to wield more typical Hunter weapons, and there's a few other tricks up his sleeve as well, such as "cooking" using his standard-issue military rations. The MH section is multiplayer-compatible, just like the rest of Peace Walker, allowing you and your stealthy friends to co-op your way through the monster-bashing missions.

The announcement that Kojima Productions is collaborating with the team behind the biggest PSP game franchise in Japan is sending shockwaves all around Japanese gamer circles as you read this. Konami will be holding a press conference in Tokyo to formally announce the news beginning 9:30pm PST; 1UP will be there, so stick around for more details very shortly.

I'm assuming that this is the big announcement the article was referring to happening on Wednesday... this MH franchise is big in Japan, apparently. I haven't played it myself but I've heard good things. Anyway, I didn't make an entirely new thread about it because I guessed this was what the article was talking about since he's going to officially announce it in the morning.

Yeah it probably is. I know Kojima wanted it to appeal to the MH crowd but this takes in on a whole other level. Well it seems to be an extra so I hope it's fun like those Ape Escape missions in mgs3.

I don't even try. Why would I?

MGS + MH = , well, I've not long had a wank but, I'm sure I could squeeze out another for that.

I love both enormously, but blending the two ... bleugh. I'd rather not have it in there, oh well.

A little bit more news on the game revealed this morning:

It was revealed that it was possible to capture vehicles in boss battles and that players could make contraptions out of parts and then trade those parts with Front Mission players. All of that is definitely interesting to fans of the series.

The Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker tie-ins include in-game Monster Hunter monsters, another Assassin's Creed collaboration (MGS4 had one, too), in-game Doritos, in-game Pepsi, in-game Mountain Dew, in-game Axe body spray, in-game Walkman, in-game Uniqlo, in-game Weekly Jump manga, in-game Famitsu, in-game Dengeki PlayStation and in-game Dengeki Games.
