Hey guys, since I live in Japan and speak the language (not that it matters so much in this case), I have made a video review of Peace Walker. It includes lots of gameplay footage and should give everyone a good idea what to expect gameplay-wise. I will of course give the spoiler warning that anything you learn in the first hour of playtime is fair game to be mentioned in the review. I will do my best to keep up with this thread and respond to any questions you may have about the review/game. After all, while this is something I'm posting here because I believe you will be interested in it, it is also self promotion. The least I can do is be your own little peace walker Q and A guy. Anyway, thanks for your time and I hope you all find it informative. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijL6Y3ZuczU |

Well that's cool to have an English speaker review the game, but please post in big Red letters so everyone knows ( the guys who just click links like mad men). VIDEO CONTAINS SPOILERS! This way you can cut down on hate mail since you can't make it any more clear

Yeah bit after watching it, there's even some bits I haven't seen (and I've spoilt the game for myself). There's no plot details I guess but there's new gameplay footage galore. |

Well, I don't want to watch the vid and spoil the game for myself, but i would like to hear from someone who has played the game: -Whats the verdict? -better than expected? worse than expected? -where does it stand against the other metal gears? Edited by prof_crunchy, May 10 2010, 05:13:53 PM.

The verdict is that it's worth your time and money in my opinion. Especially if you like co-op or are a metal gear fan. It was actually better than I expected with the gameplay. I thought we'd be running through the same maps a billion times. But in story mode, the most you'll ever go through a map is 3 times, and they play very different when you go through them backwards. It was worse than I expected with the story. The story is not bad. Really it's not. What it is is simple compared to other metal gear games. Compared to non-metal gear games, however, it's practically complex Against the other metal gears its somewhere in the middle. And for a series this constantly good, that's pretty awesome. As Granin quoted from me, not the nest Metal Gear, but one of the best PSP games. |

it doesnt take much to be one of the best PSP games though, is what worries me. MPO was the best PSP game for the longest |

Oh that's not even true by a long shot. Dark Mirror and Logans Shadow were by far, incredibly more enjoyable in gameplay than MPO or MPO+, the cover mechanics and shooting were both fluid and fresh, especially for a PSP game. Hell even PW's gonna have a hard time competing with the stealth mechanics and gunplay that those two displayed. Your review seems pretty solid I gotta say, but some aspects, I can't help but feel are relative between people who play. So I'd probably have to play for myself before I see if I can fully agree with the verdict or not. But so far, it sounds promising I'd say. |

Monster Hunter has the best PSP games, there I said it. I think the story is on around the same complexity as MGS1, certainly more complex than the original Metal Gears and MPO. It's not simple and you have to listen to all the briefing files to get a proper grasp of the story and it's more rewarding to people who have played all the other MGS games. |
