I never cared much for the syphon filter games, but probably because the story was so meh and overdone i really couldn't have cared for it. The stealth was well done, but i've always felt games like SF and Splinter Cell were far too linear, you're put on one side of the map, sneak to the other. MGS always had that more organic feel, and i preferred MPO way more, i wanted to find out what would happen next. If i've got to sneak into and through enemy territory, possibly kill a lot of people, then you better gimme a bloody good reason too, no matter how refined your gameplay. I've never finished an SF game, same way i didn't finish World at War or Far Cry 2. Cause i just didnt care. |

Well to each their own, retrospect aside, I'm actually curious what Radical Dreamer would say about how the stealth mechanics fair out? If it takes stealth for the PSP to a whole new level, if it surpasses or lives up to what was present with current day MGS games and what have you. Because with that extensive set of gadgets, I imagine there's plenty of ways to get around enemies than in previous MGS games. |

Well then, I dislike stealth elimination. It's a shame, really. When I bought it, I was hoping for something like Splinter Cell on the PSP. ...and good.

I liked the stealth in this game. When I play a metal gear game, I always try for 0 kills and I was able to do that in peace walker. Also, because the silencer on the tranq gun runs out after a dozen or so shots, I did a fair amount of hand to hand and it worked well. Seriously though, if you want to know how it plays, go back and play MGS3:S. It's 95% the same gameplay wise (which I think is a good thing).
Simple answer right here. Spoiler: click to toggle

That's fair, glad to hear stealth is actually possible in this game. Seems like it's going to have a lot going for it, which truly surpasses my expectations of a PSP game honestly. Just based on pictures alone I'm seeing more various soldiers than I've seen in ANY MGS game, hell even the ones we've so far aren't even all of them, and shockingly like any MGS game, the different classes actually possess different capabilities as far as attacks and weaponry go. So it definitely sounds like you know what you're talking about as far as professional reviews go, and hearing it from you directly that this game is actually ENJOYABLE is a damn good thing to hear, so thank you for the clarification. |

Wait, what? Are you implying that you DIDN'T think stealth was possible in this game? Have you ever played a Metal Gear game before? |

Over-exaggerating each and every post you make doesn't exactly help to get your point across, John. My point was that stealth aspects have lacked in certain games to where it made me question how possible Stealth was. MPO for example, and seeing as how this is the sequel to MPO and MGS3, IE the second official PSP MGS game, my inquisition came from the fact that I didn't know if PW could retain the same stealth factors that previous console MGS games thrived on. |

No, but is. Anyway my question was already answered by Radical Dreamer, so it's best to evade from straying the topic to petty posts. Radical Dreamer took the time to record an in-depth review, so let's respect that, yeah? Edited by Doakes, May 28 2010, 12:50:31 AM.
