KojiPro Report -No PS3 for now, dudes. This report has me particularly excited because of the fact that MGSPW is getting released in North, Central, and South America at the same time. I happen to live in Colombia (lol first game location) and games here tend to arrive like 1 month after the US release. But seems like this release is more important and will get a June 8 release here too! Looking forward to it! |

We will forsake our countries. We will leave our motherlands behind us and become one with this earth We have no nation, no philosophy, no ideology. We go where we're needed, fighting not for country, not for government, but for ourselves. We need no reason to fight. We fight because we are needed. We will be the deterrent for those with no other recourse We are soldiers without borders, our purpose defined by the era we live in. We will sometimes have to sell ourselves and services. If the times demand it, we'll be revolutionaries, criminals, terrorists. And yes, we may all be headed straight to hell. But what better place for us than this? It's our only home. Our heaven and our hell. This is Outer Heaven. | |

More like, no PS3 ever, so stop getting your idiotic hopes up you jack-a-loons. It's amazing the kinda stories that happen when you hit the wrong note in recording. You scream in a way that hits your esophagus the wrong way and bam, you're spewin' like you just saw Rosie O'Donell's unholy cavern... |

i listened to the podcast last night too and it was great listening to hayter talk about his experiences as a voice actor and describe some of the ins and outs of the business. what was funny was when they were talking about how PW compares to PO sean eyestone was verbally confirming that PO was more of a side story kinda thing rather than a full blown "missing link" as it was described in the promos. i mean i still like the game honestly. but PW will dominate it and make it his bitch! |

Well, the interview has been released. Apparently, David Hayter mentioned that he felt far more educated on the history of Metal Gear Solid with Peace Walker than he did when doing Guns of the Patriots. Just something to ponder, after all. In a way, that technically makes Metal Gear Solid 4 a side game as well. |

Am I? If you really think he never said that, I suggest you read this: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/960566-metal-gear-solid-peace-walker/55006432 I mean, I honestly don't see how a main game would fail to successfully educate anyone in regards to the background and history of Metal Gear. A side game I can see how it would fail, but not a main game, which is supposed to be irrevocably important (meaning it could not be removed under any circumstance as it is too vital to the storyline). |

IT'S THE ENDING! My god, are you HONESTLY going to argue with this?! Hayter is clearly just full of PR bullshit. And even if he wasn't, all he said was that he got MORE questions answered from PW than in MGS4, not that he didn't get ANY answers from MGS4! Edited by JohnKiller118, May 31 2010, 11:12:49 PM.

Yes, Metal Gear Solid 4 was supposed to be the ending. However, Hayter mentioned that he actually felt far more educated with the background and history of Metal Gear with Peace Walker than with Guns of the Patriots. Seeing how Metal Gear Solid 4 was supposed to be the ending to the Metal Gear series, don't you think they'd, you know, actually tie up the loose ends as well as actually make the history a very big focal point so as to actually educate people on its past to the fullest? I know if I were Kojima and I wanted to make Guns of the Patriots seem like the chronological end to Metal Gear, I'd make absolute certain that I focus on the history A LOT just to ensure that it educates people on the history of the series, and have Peace Walker only expand on it, and not just make Guns of the Patriots the way it ended up being released, as well as leaving quite a bit of confusion, if what Hayter apparently said in the interview means anything. |

Using that logic, Metal Gear Solid 2 isn't a main game because it CREATED those mysteries and didn't bother to solve any of them (like what was originally intended)! It's a new goddamn game that takes place in a different part of the timeline than 4. Of course there's going to be room to answer questions while still keeping the story focused! Also, read my edit. God, now I actually DO think you're a troll! I honestly hope you are, because if you aren't... Edited by JohnKiller118, May 31 2010, 10:56:33 PM.

What was that supposed to mean? I thought that thing about Hayter feeling more educated about the history for Metal Gear due to Peace Walker than with Guns with the Patriots was in the interview that this topic was about in the first place? EDIT: And for the record, I'm not a troll. I only posted that post because I discovered something and tried to give my insight about it. Trust me, if I were acting like a troll, I'd just be doing it for the laughs, not even caring about whether it was even remotely part of the topic, like how you constantly trolled me a few times before (which you yourself admitted a few times). And that edit came in after I posted the information. Also, Metal Gear Solid 2 was different, since it created those mysteries to generate a sequel, and other than Hideo Kojima's word that it would be the last Metal Gear game he'd work on, it was not implied in any way that it was the end of the series [in fact, the post-credits scene even left room for a possible sequel]. Metal Gear Solid 4, on the other hand, was heavily advertized to be at the very least the chronological end of the Metal Gear series, to the extent of even going as far as to make it absolutely certain in the post-credits scene that there wouldn't be a sequel, at least not one involving Solid Snake. Think about it from a logical standpoint. If you're going to try and give a chronological end to a series, wouldn't you try to answer a lot in regards to the history to the extent that, even IF there is going to be another game, namely one that is a prequel or a midquel, any loose ends would be kept at a bare minimum and thus not allow the prequel to surpass the so-called "final chronological game" in terms of educating the audience/staff to the history and background of the series? Sometimes the points some people make are so infuriatingly stupid i have to laugh and argue at the same time. Stop throwing around words you don't understand. Definition of Side-Story: 'A side story in fiction is a form of narrative that occurs alongside established stories set within a fictional universe. As opposed to a prequel, sequel, or interquel, a side story takes place within the same time frame as an existing work. Side stories are common in epic type series, especially war oriented series where it is possible to tell many stories from many different points of view. Early examples of a side story are found in the ancient Indian epics Mahabharata and Ramayana, which contained numerous side stories which were loosely related to the main story of those epics. It is typical for side stories to be self contained, small scale events, insignificant in the bigger picture. They tend to be one shot stories with a beginning, middle, and end and focus heavily on character drama while the major action occurs mostly in the background. A side story is not quite the same as a spin-off. A spin-off takes already known characters, usually supporting or background characters and involves them in a story or series which highlights them and further develops their character. The series' true main characters may make cameo appearances or be referred to in dialogue. Side stories, rather, focus on a completely new set of characters who have no history and typically no connections to the existing main characters. The settings for side stories are intentionally away from the major events that the main characters are known to be participating in' MGS4 is not a side story so DON'T make ridiculus OTT claims with no grounding. This is the first pretty intellectual forum on MGS i've visited and tbh, stupid claims will get you beaten into the ground. No more argument. |

Oh. Well, I apologise for the big caps in one of my previous posts. I don't even know how it happened. All I know is that when I quoted JohnKiller118 in regards to that post of his, it somehow enlarged my text to be the same size as his, despite my not adding in any big text tags to my response other than his quote.
