the collector's edition box looks pretty nice and is noticeably bigger than say the mgs4 limited edition. this is to house the 60 page art book as well as the actual game behind it. the most interesting that really caught my attention was the ESRB rating at the back of the package. the game is labeled "T" for teens due to: Blood, Drug Reference, Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of Tobacco, and Violence. what caught my eye is the first thing on that list, Blood. so far out of all the official trailers, gameplay footage and personally playing it a little i haven't really seen or noticed any "blood" effects aside from those round "dmg" circles that illustrate damage when using a lethal weapon on an enemy. i think that hardly constitutes as Blood but maybe there's more as the game goes on. i read in past posts from other sites that blood was omitted because, being that the game was to be released on the psp, there was worry that it might be a little graphic for the kiddies. nonetheless it Is a game rated for Teens so perhaps we'll see. thoughts?

I'd have liked to see what this collector edition looked like :) .

I'm normally not into byproducts like that, but I would love to see a 60 page art book.

As for blood, I don't recall having seen any. Maybe the guys who stamped that thought "by routine" : "hey, it's an action game, you shoot people, then there's blood", regardless of having seen the DMG circles you see in the game, as well for it's non-violence stance.

I just think they're over-assuming when it comes to blood.
(Railgun rk.5 + Decoy rk.5 ) = ( "wet pants" * "new player" )

I must say, I was impressed with the artbook, there was actual ART in the book, unlike mgs4's poor excuse. Went to the store and the clerk told me I was the only one to preorder the game and order the Limited Edition :hmm:

i'm gonna wait to open the artbook After i finish playing the game. i'm sure you're right and it'll be worth it. it's kinda sad that you were the only one to preorder the collector's ed. i kinda felt like that cuz while i was paying for it the sales clerk said to his coworker that last night was Crazy. i said: you mean about this game?? he looked at me, wearing his peace walker bandana and said: oh, nah it was for something that had to do with work" bla bla bla. heheh. well i'm happy to be one of the owners of this edition though

I only watched the fist 4 pages, being cautious about spoilers, I just didn't want to feel burned like I did with MGS4's artbook. I'm glad I preordered and got all this though, will become much more rare of a collectors item down the line.

I paid $54 for mine. Which I hope comes. >_<

@DD
That's a bidding offer...
That price will EASILY break $70. I've bid on games more than enough times to know that prices can drastically increase within seconds because some moron comes by and adds $20 to their bid...>_>

AND 60 PAGES?!
I thought it was 40?

Yup, definitely.

I was going for a PS3 game....7 times in a row was I outbid...and the person that outbid me was a moron that overpaid by so much.

They paid $40+...
I paid $30 with shipping...NEW. :)

PW:CE will sell for just as much as MGS3: LIMITED EDITION in the future I think...

i created an ebay account a couple years ago just so i could get my hands on the MGS1 Greatest Hits edition. i got it for $13. but whoever the previous owner was obviously didn't give two shits about this game because of the multitude of scratches on the readable side of both discs. so whenever i was playing the game would freeze at the most crucial points, like the Hind-D fight with liquid. that pissed me off so much. i even went so far as to rip both discs so i could play on my psp. funny thing was the game froze at the same exact points as it did on my ps1. I had to borrow my friend's copy til i first beat the game. go figure. then after, i figured to just download a psn copy of the game and play it on my psp and it worked perfectly. so beware on ebay...

side note:
it isn't a bad idea to surf craigslist as well. some buys can be sketchy but some other ppl sell their stuff at really awesome deals! i got a PS3 copy of UFC Undisputed 2010 WITH the online code And the 4 extra players for just $40 solid. the guy i met with to exchange was cool and that was that. also i got a Dualshock 3 controller from this dude for $30 brand new still sealed in the package.

gee, talk about deviating from the subject, hahah :P

trust me, the thought had crossed my mind. like i said some of these ppl can be a little sketchy. but you use your best judgement at hand whether it be ebay or craigslist. basically anything on the internet im wary of cuz if i can't physically see what i'm buying i'm hesitant. but at least with craigslist you meet these ppl face to face, unlike ebay, which have faceless characters. you're basing your bids on sheer faith that the person selling said item will fulfill one half of the agreement and send you the item in question without leaving out any details of the pros and cons of the product.

Hey guys I'm not dead! And I come bearing some goodies!

Some pics of the Artbook: http://img706.imageshack.us/g/dsc01624w.jpg/

Unfortunately, I don't know how to reverse the order of the pictures.

Anyway, I thought it was cool how it came in a "comic book like" plastic sleeve, and the artbook itself feels light like a comic book too, which is pretty appropriate due to the cutscene illustrator of Peace Walker, Ashley Wood, is a comic book artist himself.
