So i got my copy of peace walker (a day early for the European release but it was already in my local gaming store) today and i also bought a new psp 3000 since my old one was broken. So i did the full data install and began to play but after i finished the first mission and saw how i did,Kaz talks to Snake but everytime after they say a few sentences to each other my screen just freezes and i can't do anything to continue, so i tried the full data install a couple of times again and the smaller data install too and still my game freezes everytime does anyone else have this problem too?

Something tells me that the custom firmware might be the cause of it, while the other says it isn't since 3000s cannot have CFWs. No, it didn't happen on my 1001, yet. |

That would the first thing i would think of too,but the thing is the psp is brand new and the only firmware installed on it is the 6.20 that was installed from the peace walker umd,i didn't install custom firmware on it. |

you're getting crashes on the UMD version of the game? strange... i've only experienced that phenomena using cfw on games that weren't too friendly to certain ones. i'm also playing the umd on one of my older Fats cuz i felt confident that there wouldn't be any issues with the game. so far for me that's the case. apparently to my surprise it's not like that for everyone who uses Official Firmware... |

Wow, that blows man. I'd be so pissed off if I were you. Sorry that happened. Hasn't happened to me (thankfully), but I'd just do what Granin said. Take it back (both PSP and MGS) and see which one isn't working and they should give you a working game, or system, or both. |

My guess is the UMD. If the PSP is brand new, then it wouldn't be broken unless transport wasn't easy. |

Make sure you take it to the place you bought it at, and prepare to show them exactly where the game freezes. Local Gamestop's have tried to rip me off with some, prove it or didn't happen bullshit, so the place you bought it from could try the same. |

Thanks for all the reactions so i went to the store today and got another copy of Peace Walker but the same thing happend again only this time i can still continue with the game (i'm talking about the codec conversations where you can press start to skip them),but what is really weird is that when i replayed a mission the audio from the codec conversation didn't freeze but when i continued to the next mission the audio from a new codec conversation froze again....so what do you think is it my psp or some production error?I guess i'll have to go back to the store again...

That's ridiculous. My only guess is that it's the PSP. Which is crazy considering it's brand new. |

Have you considered that it might be your memory card? A dodgy memory card may lead to a dodgy installation. |
