1. Coldman/Strangelove get KGB Zadornov to trick Snake into carrying out operation Peace Walker so that they may interrogate him about the Boss to finish the Mammal Pod. Strangelove also has the simpler personal motive as well. This way Coldman can launch a nuke (at Mother base) to prove the working theory of Nuclear Deterrence. 2. Zadornov, the KGB agent, actually doubled crossed them. The reason he wanted Snake to accept the mission and wants Peace Walker to be completed is so that they may fire a Nuke at Cuba, framing the US and spreading communism. His plan was to turn Amanda and co. into revolutionaries, inspired by BigBoss. Paz is in on it as well, as she is also KGB. When Zadornov dies, he laughs thinking that Paz is going to carry out her KGB mission with Metal Gear Zeke. 3. Paz, however, is not only KGB with Zadornov, but is also working for Zero. Her real mission was to get Snake to accept his mission so that he may eventually be forced back into the Patriot's ranks. It is unknown whether or not Paz would have wanted Zadornov to succeed, or is involvement in the KGB only a means to an end? However, here lies my main questions: -Who's idea was all of this in the first place? -Perhaps Coldman sparked up the idea first. Then the KGB took notice, and sent Zadornov in undercover to take advantage of the situation. And then Cipher took notice and sought an opportunity to get back Big Boss. All of this happening before Coldman invaded. If this is the case, was Cipher's only goal to get Snake back? Or did they want either Zadornov or Coldman to succeed? Or did it not matter to them? -Or perhaps this was all planned by Cipher first to get BigBoss back. They then had to come up with an elaborate plan, pushing each party closer to believing it was their own idea for their own motives. And they always planned on Big Boss pulling through, just like the way Zero could count on him eliminating Gene. From what I understand, Cipher's mission then would be to get Paz and Kaz (who didnt even know that they were working for the same team) to convince Big Boss to drive out the CIA from Costa Rica (Coldman's group, which Cipher also has control of). In the process, Big Boss would indirectly help complete Peace Walker, which would indirectly help MSF gain control of Metal Gear parts in addition to those they picked up from defeating the AI gears, which would result in MSF having their own system for launching a nuclear warhead. This then would allow Cipher to convince BigBoss to rejoin the Patriots' ranks when Paz takes control of Zeke, as a nuclear bombing of America would result in the downfall of MSF and BigBoss's legacy. In this case though, I don't know why Cipher would set up the whole Zadornov-Cuba thing, unless of course that Zadornov's Patriotic intentions were an unpredicted factor in the plan, just like Coldman's second attempt to launch a nuke. I know Coldman was working for Zadornov, but I'm not too sure about Strangelove, especially seeing how her reaction when hearing Zadornov indicated that not only was she shocked that the target was changed, but she didn't seem to even know Zadornov. And it's also possible that Paz was also in on the CIA plot as well, since Miller also mentioned that she was working for the CIA as well.
Well, sort of. It's very likely that Zadornov was also a Cipher agent as well, given the fact that Paz, when mentioning who Cipher was, referred to them as "our masters." If she was just in it by herself, she would have just said "my masters" especially given that she doesn't even know Kaz's involvement (although it's debatable as to whether Kaz was in on it from the start or whether he had recently joined after the whole fiasco, given the fact that some of the things that he said in his phone call [IE, explaining what Militaires Sans Frontieres was] would indicate that Zero didn't even know what MSF was until sometime during Chapter 5, and even then before launching the nuke. The fact that Paz didn't even know Kaz's involvement or there even being a third Cipher member onboard Mother Base until literally the final stage of her plans would heavily indicate this to be the case).
Well, that, as well as basically nuking the East Coast of the United States of America under Cipher's orders to frame Big Boss and the Militaires Sans Frontieres as being an unstable Nuclear-toting cult should he refuse. |
