Right, this place has been getting way too damn cluttered with topics asking for relationship advice and it's getting irritating. From now on, all issues regarding relationships and the like will now be in this thread only. The topics that are already up shall stay open, but from now on, anything else goes in here. |

Hahahaha, if only I had a girlfriend. I doubt you play a fifth of the time I do. :lol: Anyway, even I would stop or at least cut down if I were to ever get a girlfriend and she didn't like it. I'd also probably spam MGS quotes at her..... Well, my advice is to cut down, or at least look like you're cutting down. Don't mention it in her presence, and play when she's not with you. Dedicate your time when you're with her to her. If she expects you to totally stop MGS, that is a little unreasonable, as you can quite easily play when she's not with you. If you don't care she's off though, keep up that MGS dude, no matter. Still, I'd go after her myself, and try to get her back. Damn, I really need a female MGS speedrunner.

I've never had a real girlfriend due to two reasons: 1) I am too shy. 2) I act like an asshole without intending to do so half the time. That's it. I guess I still have time tho, I'm only 16. And besides, I'm definetly not in a rush to get a girlfriend or anything. |

Haha, I wish I was still 16. I know this topic is old already, but I need to put my 2 cents in.... I might go a little bit off-topic, but it'll all be connected (somehow). I used to be pretty shy. I had a few guy friends, but barely knew any girls when I was about 15 (btw, I'm 20, about to turn 21, so don't think I'm some old fart or something). Long story short, alcohol did the trick....  Seriously though, what helped me out most was a major car crash I was in. It made me realize that I was wasting my time, spending way too much time messing around with video games and with my "nerdy" friends. Not that I wasn't having fun, but I guess the best way to put it is: I didn't want to hit old age (or die) and feel like I hadn't accomplished anything in my life. In the crash, a friend of mine was seriously injured, while I walked out unscathed... it completely turned my life around. From that day onwards, I completely changed. I started working out, became a hell of a lot more outgoing, and got really cocky around girls. In a way I jumped to the opposite extreme, and it's taken me years to understand the other sex (and still working on it...), but I guess the main thing I'm trying to say is: when you realize that you can die at any moment, that everything as you know it can end in a heartbeat, you learn to be a lot more appreciative of opportunities, such as chances to meet new people or move up in the world. I'm not saying not to play video games, you still need to make time to do the things that you enjoy, but you have to understand that you also need variety in your life. There's a time for everything. The thought that one day I'll be a cripple, 80-years old, unable to wipe my own ass, and not be able to think of anything else but all the missed opportunities to be with a certain someone or become something greater, is what keeps me going. "Shyness" no longer becomes a problem. Btw, being cocky doesn't always work around girls, although it is better than being shy, but that topic I'll leave for another day.... |

Okay Darling, well the first thing you have to do is get HER into Metal gear! (Afew pictures of Snake should do the trick hehe). Well, lets face it! You wont be having any relations anyway because: 1 You play too much Metal Gear 2 You got HER into Metal Gear, now SHE plays all the time. 3 The house becomes a mess as no-one is shopping, cooking food, doing laundry or anything and the whole house is about to explode in a massive Kojima bomb of neglected housework. Meh. I have a one year relationship going with the best girl I could ask for, and all I do is play games and play with my dead-end band. It's about who you are, not what people say you should be. Though I liked how you addressed that being cocky usually doesn't work. @Muiki: Just be yourself, man. It'll happen eventually. If you can't 'get' anybody being yourself, eg if they can't handle it, then it's not worth it. @xELEV3Nx: If you don't care, then don't worry about it, seems like a shitty reason to break up with someone, like ich says, I doubt you play half as much as him. I think ich's answer was probably as good as they come, he really hit the nail on the head. |

I've never had a girlfriend (and yes people at my school make fun of this sometimes) and i don't know the reasons why really. I know i'm only 14 (hitting 15 in Aug) so there's plenty of time but any help would still be appreciated. |

Like ya said yourself, your only 14. So no worries. Ya don't need a steady girlfriend. All ya need is to go to a whole bunch of youth disco's. Then you'll get a whole bunch of girls asking you "Would you make out with my friend? *points to her friend*. Simple, and no attachments. Enjoy it while it lasts.
