Just like the title. Is it worth getting? Never played the PSP games. Thinking about starting. Should I?

Jack, listen to me. We're all born with an expiration date. No one lasts forever. Life is nothing but a grace period - for turning our genetic material into the next generation. The data of life is transferred from parent to child. That's how it works. But we have no heirs, no legacy. Cloned from our father, with the ability to reproduce conveniently engineered out. What is our legacy if we cannot pass the torch? Proof of our existence - a mark of some sort. When the torch is passed on from parent to child... it extends beyond DNA; information is imparted as well. All I want is to be remembered. By other people, by history. - Soildus Snake

it's fine storywise, kinda relies too heavily on MGS3 though.

gameplaywise, the overall stealth was done better in Portable Ops.

overall, it's more like, if you get it, you'll have fun for a while, but then if you set it down for about a month or so, you won't really feel obligated to pick it back up again.

No can't do that. I don't have a PSP. I was going to get the bundle pack with the PSP. Now am think otherwise. I could get GOD OF WAR or Dante's Inferno but I rather go to the Club.

Well, there are great games for the PSP, like you said, God of War, which is a great game to be played on the PSP.
The MGS games are interesting, but I think it's better to just download MGS1 from PSN and leave it at that. MPO sucked ass, PW is fun, but only for a little while.

There are a lot of games for fun, like Loco Roco and Patapon, if you're into these kind of games. But all in all, it's a great little machine to play PS1 games on as well

well... not if you don't already have a PSP. No one game is ever worth buyin a console for, especially a dead one like PSP.

I'd been planning on getting a PSP for a while to play a few other games, but I still sometimes regret buying it just for one game. Then I go back and watch Strangelove fangirl over The Boss again and decide it was worth it even if I can just watch it online. But the point is that I got to go in costume to pick up the game which always makes it worth it... for me...

If you're not like me, which is pretty much everyone else in the world, maybe it's not worth buying a PSP over.

Didn't mean to be so blunt in my previous post, different strokes for different blokes. As a student money is really tight but at the end of the day, its what makes you happy that counts. Actually I bought the PSP just to play MPO way back when, difference was that the PSP still had potential. Now though, it sounds like the PSP2 could be announced soon, and honestly id wait for that, chances are its backwards compatible.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I just buy another PS3 game. Probably Assassins Creed or Fallout 3.

If you're gunna go for those games, I highly recommend Fallout 3, So much to do, so addictive and so many hours well spent. Assassin's Creed is really fun but once you've finished the game, there is nothing left to do and the story is a little bit short.

I Agree with DRILLB!T, but aim to get the GOTY (Game of the year) edition with all the DLC.

Considering New Vegas just came out Fallout 3 should be about £20/$25 and will give you a taster if you decide to buy New Vegas....

Yea the Fallout 3 GOTY is your best bet
If you get FO3, save regularly. And only go to Point Lookout with your stats are close to maxing out. Trust me

Best portable game ever, worth getting. I find it suprising people get bored with it after a month considering it has hundreds of missions.

Too many of the extra missions are the same though. There's only so many vehicle missions I can take before I get bored to death repeating the same sequence again and again.

There's around 12 different types of missions. My only gripe is that the stealth missions arent hard enough.

I'd rather have over a hundred extra missions with 12 different types than none at all, and I'd say the main missions are more than adequate.
