hey guys, i just spent the best part of an hour twiddling about with the ini files for the controller for my pc copy of mgs 2, and i finally nailed it perfectly! (apart from the well-known L+R trigger issue) for me, the controls did not map properly automatically, and changing the .ini's was the onyl way to fix it (with ALOT of trial and error!) noone seems to have made an actual easy-fix for this yet, so i figured i'd upload my efforts to the intarwebz, and i noticed some people have posted on here before with the same problem Megaupload link: (RIP) DaGleese's xbox 360 controller fix for MGS2 Mediafire link: DaGleese's xbox 360 controller fix for MGS2 hopefully it may save some other poor sap's the time and effort i threw at it ![]() cheers. EDIT: also, just to clarify, it does fix the L + R trigger issue using xpadder already set up in the zip, the pad layout is identical to how the pad layout was on the ps2 version of the game Edited by DaGleese, Feb 5 2012, 04:57:59 AM.

seconded, could you please re-upload this fix... Megaupload is gone ![]() EDIT: Actually nevermind, I figured it out myself. Apparently it's easy to setup, just by pressing xbox pad keys in the key config. Only problem was that I could not use RT and LT as R2/L2, as the game doesn't recognize them correctly. I got around that using a program called Xpadder, which I used to map LT and RT to keyboard buttons. Edited by funkle, Jan 29 2012, 03:56:19 PM.

yeah, i'm curious, are you using the wired controller or the wireless one? because surfing the net people seem to have no problem setting it up, like you didnt, but for me the controller setup just didnt let me edit the pad, and it was stuck with really bad controls i think maybe the wireless controller causes it, but i'm not sure |

Thanks mate realy genuine work here. I hope Konami makes a re-launch of this game in the future with all bugs corrected and the trophies and x360 controller compability. Now I want to ask another question, did you got any problems with the LT/RT buttons [Black Wireless Controller Here]? Unfortly mines are not working but can be a problem of Windows 8, since it works on Control Painel in Windows 7 Thanks one more time. Edited by Guyver01, Jul 10 2012, 12:05:22 AM.

They already released the game 3 times for 3 different consoles, gonna go ahead and say it's safe to say they aren't going to put out a patch for a pirated version of their game. |

OFF TOPIC: Hmm Steam + DRM maybe? Square jsut re-released the FF7 for pc with some improvements, maybe Konami can do it someday too. Since most of the work is done already anyways. BTW I have the game for PS2 and PC and still try to use the "hacked" version because have all the bugs sorted/corrected somehow, with addictional files and stuff edited. Iam just saying this because I stopped with consoles on PS3, only PC from now on. Edited by Guyver01, Jul 11 2012, 02:33:53 PM.

I am running the game on Windows 8.1, and like you the triggers didn't work even after using xpad. However, based on your post, I tried to run the msg2.exe in windows 7 compatibility mode, and now everything seems to be working fine! So for windows 8 users: run the exe in windows 7 compatibility mode to get the triggers to work |

So I've tried xpadder and joytokey and nothing works for my 360 controller triggers. I'm trying to get the r-trigger to be my first person so aiming is at least viable. Otherwise i don't even have a button that will go to first person. I'd really like help on this. |
