What it started with, and what it became, are obviously very different things, and it does still retain the freedom of information to some extent, but it's also plagued with lots of bad things.
Problem is you can't have the government control DW without them controlling the flow of information.

That....is the hard part. Maintaining the freedom of information, without attracting government agencies due to what happens when you have the unrestricted flow of information.

Again. Im not sure why people keep referring to DW as the online black market and a place for drug dealers. It isnt. If people think thats all its use is, you shouldnt be on it in the first place.

Freedom of information, not purchasing of illegal items, was the original intent.

But with anonymity, comes the latter.
Pretty sure the leaking of government documents is also illegal and if you are partaking in reading of this information, you yourself are engaging in illegal activity.

The deep web is essentially the online black market. Anything illegal can be found there, including classified documents. There's a difference between anonymity and using a completely separate web service from the mainstream internet.

Shal, Necrophilia and Zoophilia are illegal, sorry that's not like 2 girls and one cup, this is an illegal activity and should be banned from all mediums.

And omg HaytedSnake have you actually just posted that? I won't look at CP or hire a hitman, but I obviously support the investigation and prosecution of all people involved.

@SG I know that's not what the DW is solely about, but it is there, and there should be authorities investigating it. I'm all for the free flow of information to be kept untouched, but you can't possibly ignore these issues because of a "greater good" or whatever. There is a TON of illegal shit in the DW, and it should not be ignored.

Broken links and illegal activity. And a cool interpretation of the Matrix, but you can probably find that on Google.

@SG I know, I wa just referring to the "DW is not about illegal stuff", when it's only normal to get that assumption with the tons of illegal shit there.

People shouldn't be using google for the normal internet searches anyway. Filtered beyond belief.

Novitch, what you find there ranges from governmental documents, child pornography, hitmen for hire, PayPal accounts, credit card numbers, hackers, bootleg...everything, pretty much.

You won't find a document detailing Area 52 having Aliens in it or WW3 documents, but you will find some interesting things about governmental plans when it comes to terrorism IIRC and governmental procedure.
