Sorry Bames. If it helps we're kinda talking about how lame protein shakes are.@Webbie- Thanks for the advice. I wish I had known that a few years ago. The most muscle I have is in my forearms and they are still just skinny little sticks. LOL @'Licia- I'm an "emergency" smoker if that helps. I don't smoke much but I do if I get stressed out. The thing about girls thinking their fat is mostly true, but I don't think I'm fat .-. I weigh a grand total of.... 105 lb? Unfortunately I'm horribly out of shape... lol. I finally figured that I don't weigh much when some of my old friends (male and female) would come up to me, throw me over their shoulder and run/walk off with me. No... that's not an over-exaggeration lol. Snacks... snacks.... Anyone here obsessed with beef jerky?! |

That's much better. So I was snacking on some vegetable sushi rolls today. Great combination of avocado, carrot, seaweed, rice, etc. Not to mention the soy sauce with a little wasabi mixed in. I like really any apples. I never became too particular with any kind of brand.... @'Licia- Slim Jims are so unhealthy but they're amazing. I usually get slim jims instead of beef jerky cause beef jerky is crazy expensive for some reason. Ever had turkey jerky? Deer jerky? Which one is your fave? They taste the same to me, minus turkey jerky which isn't as good IMO. And yeah I know smoking is horrible for me lol I'm not addicted though since I've stopped for long periods of time with no effort for a year once, and half a year another time. |

Hell no! Thats 7.5 stone, 47kg!! Think I'm around 250lbs. And was funny reading about your protein shakes. Just having more protein won't do anything unless you are exercising to use it. Folks at the gym already have enough protein in their diet for the weight they lift, 9 times out of 10. So it's funny to see them pay £20 a month for powders and stuff that isn't doing anything for them whatsoever. You need to be on a stringent diet and exercising hard to go through the amount of protein that a few steaks a week or average meals can't recover. |

I can't gain much weight for some reason. Also, I did work out which was the worst part.... I was lifting weights, running, even doing PT with the military recruiters (long story) and for my JROTC PT team. I lost weight... Before then I ran Cross Country/long distance and gained 10 lb!! I ended up losing 5 when I started doing sprints instead though. Poor leg muscles......... SNACKS! Anyway! So protein shakes make a horrible "snack". I love almonds though. I forgot to add, I paid 50 bucks or so for that protein stuff, and that was the cheap kind. :/ Edited by Lucent, Feb 8 2013, 07:50:02 AM.

Have you seen the price of whey since the government put on the VAT? Jeez! A Tin of tuna provides so much protein and the home brand value stuff is dirt cheap and just as good as the MASSIVELY overpriced stuff from John Wests and Princess. Carbs are just as important pwo, a lot of people neglect that. |

I worked out while I was on my protein diet. Didn't do shit for me. I got extremely toned up, but honestly I've always been that way. I am right now even. Didn't build any mass though. |

Yes mate, I got a voucher off some powder company, Maximuscle or something. But I'm going to start just having a tin of tuna. I already drink a pint of milk after going to the gym, and on days when I don't, milk is also under rated. Yes carbs, I've cut them down but still have enough. Especially for breakfast, granola and yoghurt! @Webbie: Oh ok, that's some strange biology going on dude. |

I think I've just got a horribly fast metabolism, and at that time I was working two jobs at a cedar mill (hard work) and a gas station and I was doing a lot of sweating, so that probably didn't help much. |

I skip breakfast. Intermittent Fasting all the way! But yeah milk is great. I always have porridge PWO (fucking love porridge) so milk is essential. |

This is the first time I hear of the turkey one! I hear deer's good. And, true! They're so expensive! I eat Slim Jim's like..thrice a year at most. LOL, Shyne.. It's hard to gain weight with Asian food definitely. I guess that was my problem.... I suppose I can't complain since I'm healthy. If I do gain muscle, it's just really not much. I've been ninja'd! lol 'Licia- I think deer and beef jerky taste the same honestly. Venison doesn't have much of a different taste in my opinion. BTW if it helps, most people could break me like a twig. If the wind blows I swear I'm gonna fly away LOL. My favorite meat is probably chicken. What about you guys?
