Of course it can be a positive phrase. You only live once, so live honorably and be healthy and do good, etc.

I think the difference lies in the people who use the entire phrase vs. the people who use the YOLO acronym. I've never seen somebody use the YOLO acronym (either when posting pictures or text about themselves on social media or verbally speaking the acronym, i.e. "yo-low") in regards to being in a committed, monogamous relationship or drinking responsibly, or anything like that.

In short, "you only live once" = don't use your one life acting like an idiot. "YOLO" = act like an idiot.

"Shoehorn"

It's such an oft-used word in gaming journalism, and by regular people trying to describe the faults of a game/franchise.

i.e
-The designers shouldn't shoehorn multiplayer and this crap into xxxxxx

I don't use shoehorn often, but I don't hate the word either. What's so bad about it? is it simply being overused?

I don't even try. Why would I?

@Rico Shoehorned is a good word to describe in that situation. Activision do shoehorn single player in to Call of Duty Games.

I see nothing wrong there.

"Brah", "Sick Cunts", anything spawned by that roid munching, self-obsessed waste of blood and organs douche (I'm English and I love the word douche) who at least had the decency to die and remove himself from the gene pool.

Responding to "Can I ask you a question?" with "You mean may 'I ask you a question?'" People really don't like that.

Brah also gets on my nerves, mostly because of how it sounds.
And I hated how my old teachers always did that. You got the point, tell me yes or no. That's it.

I don't even know what a hipster is anymore. I feel like people are incorrectly labeled "hipsters" if they do any of the following: listen to music that's not mainstream, wear second-hand clothes, ride bicycles, drink coffee, wear think-rimmed glasses, deny being a hipster after being called a hipster, etc. It seems that the word has turned into a pejorative that's synonymous with "pretentious snob."

My sociology professor one time was talking about how hipsters ruined the lower east side in NYC. There's also this girl I see on the transit bus all the time with a patch on her backpack that says "Die hipster scum! Seriously, you suck fucking ass."
yeah that's exactly what i said before. the word 'hipster' is utterly useless. all meaning has been eroded, people have misappropriated it so many times it has just become some kind of generic insult. it makes me cringe more than anything.

Yeah but a brah is a good thing to be. I mean look at what they do all day

But this may just be me, but I only hear hipster on the internet, TV, etc. never heard anyone call someone a hipster in real life.

Lmao, touche. The double "kk" is always a pain in my side when I read it. Especially if it's from a girl after I said something of importance.

Couldn't agree more man, the term is construed into something far from the actual meaning of it. 9/10 of the time the people who use it are using it incorrectly. I'm not even sure how to properly define it <_<

I use that term to fuck with the friends I have that listen to indie music. Not because I have a problem with it, but because it gets under their skin and is major source of amusement for me.

Now the word used to be used to insult that subculture that wears fake glasses, where skinny jeans from American outfitters, hangs out at Starbucks, but most importantly do it to fit in. Because six months previously, they were listening to rap music or country music or whatever. Trends are just marvelously stupid and entertaining to make fun of.

I think that since the FOX unit was part of the CIA, that they'd have given Zero some specifications to how it would be acceptable to run things, which probably meant that bagging your turds and carrying them around with you was tossed out the window, it'd be stupid anyway since even if it was bagged, the stench would've leaked out eventually, and I don't know about you but I'm pretty sure I'd be able to smell it if some random guy was crawling through the bushes carrying a bag of his own shit, especially if he put that and urinated in the same bag...yeah...not very stealthy.
