Apologies if I've missed something here but I've read right through the forum topics and can't see one relating to this.

At the end of the trailer, sounds like a woman's voice, Russian sounding accent, saying "V has come to". - anyone any ideas as to what this relates to?

I'm assuming, from taking other general threads info that V could be another character as opposed to 5. . .she doesn't say "5" she purposefully says "V"

People keep saying Sniper Wolf, even though by the early 80's Wolf would be a little kid. But, that could only confirm the theory that Phantom Pain goes through several years of time.

V could mean Vic Boss. Or victory. I don't know, Kojima is weird.

That was definitely not a French accent.

I think there's more to the Replaced Numbered Five for a Roman Numeral Five, than meets the eye.
As Kojima said it was merely there because this game is more or less a Reboot of sorts.
But I don't buy that.

I have no idea what "V has come to" stands for.
But I'm thinking it ties into the title.
(Maybe Kojima expects someone to figure it out, if so. Then it's probably something rather simple to figure out. Other wise, why would it be in all the trailers, if not to serve some form of purpose)

I interpret it like this: "V has come to"

Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain

Big Boss was in a coma, but then he woke up. He came to.

MGS V has come to, as in Metal Gear Solid V is finally coming around.

I reckon it's pretty innocuous. It's Amanda, talking to someone - say Kaz? After Mother Base gets smashed, a handful of people escape. I reckon Amanda goes on to being 2IC to Kaz at Diamond Dogs, and she's the cutout/middle man/handler for the dude (or dudes) keeping an eye on Big Boss/"Vic Boss" while he's in his coma.

He wakes up, she gets wind of it, and tells Kaz that "V(ic Boss) has come to". This all plays out in a black screen radio/"Codec" conversation either before the tutorial mission, or slightly after, filling in the player on how Kaz and co find out about his awakening.

Cue Hospital escape/tutorial mission.

I'm probably totally wrong, but that's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

We have arrived.
I highly doubt it's Amanda, that person's accent is nothing like a South American / Spanish accent.

Who is Olga's mother?
Not sure if she was ever mentioned.

Olga was Russian and Cecile was French. How did anyone come to that conclusion?

BTW - I thought it was Amanda too.

Actually this is a really solid idea ^_^ My moneys on this, espescially the "V" = "Vic Boss" thing.

If you watch the Japanese release of the trailer, it translates to "V has woken up." So the idea of it being related to BB waking up from his coma would make the most sense.

It's the lady that was on fire in the VGA trailer who said it.

MGSF - Where everyone is right and you're wrong

"V" Vic/Victory Boss (Big Boss) "has come to" Has awakened (come to) - "V" (5) "has come to" (has arrived)

That's all I got, purely speculation at this point. The woman however, could maybe be Paz? She is in the game after all. (Or at least the Ground Zeroes section)

I reckon Paz is dead, killed at the beginning of GZ. Chico is killed during the botched infiltration of the American Base.

The attack on Mother Base kills everyone except Huey and maybe Strangelove, plus Amanda and Kaz. Most of MSF is killed along with Cecile.

Speculating like mad of course.

If Chico doesn't become the Machine Gun Kid in Metal Gear I will be devastated.
