Why must her mother be involved? "Olga is too young, but she's Russian, so it must be her mother".

Didn't say must, just giving possibilities. Nobody can really say it's not until the game comes out. Hell, like some people had mentioned before, that line may have nothing to do with the game at all and was only recorded for the trailer. My two guesses on characters though are either Sniper Wolf further down the line if the game decides to enter the 90's, or Olga's mom. Other than that, I'm assuming it could be a new character if it has any place at all.

I don't even try. Why would I?

We know LET was an insurance policy should Big Boss and Zero end up at odds. But there's going to be a great amount of time before the Snake's would be old enough to do anything. So with that in mind they'd need another poster boy. Borrowing from MPO (hurrrdurrr notcanon!) where NotGreyFox has his memory erased after every battle, we get another Super Soldier (possibly in a coma) and have his blank canvas of a memory and fill it with memories pulled from Big Boss via that Psycho Mantis-looking thing(I also mentioned this in another thread) and put in. We'd then have a psuedo-Snake. (psuedo is a very popular word in this area of the forum I've noticed) Big Boss + his 3 sons + this psuedo-snake would make 5. And "V has come to."

My theory I'm basing on absolutely nothing, feel free to poke at it, laugh, mock etc I don't care and won't take offence as I'm just throwing it out there.

My point is why Olga's mother? For what reason?

I'm not sure why she came up in the discussion.
As it is, she's never come up in the Game Continuity either.
Did anyone ever find out who Olga's mother was? Because it was rather conflicted when that conversation concluded.

No, I just threw out names of women that could possibly have Russian accents, (Assuming that's even the accent the woman in the trailer is speaking, since we only hear her say that line and it's not entirely clear what accent she has)

But, no, Olga's mom has never been introduced, nor, I think, even mentioned in any of the games. As it stands, I'm resigned to just wait it out and see if this line has any real bearing on the game at all or was simply recorded for the trailer.

I always thought Olga's mother should be Strangelove and that's where Sunny got her genius ;)

So, are you suggesting that Strangelove has Relations with Huey and Gurlukovich?
I've heard of a Similar theory.

Well, she wears her hair short like Strangelove did during the Tanker chapter. Though I would hope Strangelove actually shaves her armpits. :/

We can't tell really can we. Is Strangelove Hal's mother? That would make MGS2 weird then, if she was also Olga's mother. I've not thought it through :D

I think you're supposed to think that, but then you find out she's interested in Huey after all. Everyone seems to have strange relationships with The Boss.

I really, really, really, doubt its Volgin.
If you look at the scars on the face of the burned man in the ground zeroes..those scars around the mouth and forehead very closely resemble Volgin from snake eater. Volgin was by far the best villain in all the MGS games. Not only did the guy launch a warhead but he was very responsible for most of the MGS story.

Maybe "V has come to" means that volgin has returned and caused the misery in the big bosses life in the 70s and 80s. :)

I really hope it isn't Volgin! I didn't think he was that great in MGS3, that games bosses are some of the least interesting (for me, along with the MGS4 bosses) in the whole series. Reviving him would be a poor choice IMO.

Hmmmm, Volgin in MGS5. Maybe, I mean a lot of people expect it. What if, that deformed man and the man on fire in the hospital are the same person :O = Volgin

Could work :)

Anyways, I want to go to the point of Dr Strangelove. She looks good enough to be Olga's mother.

He mentioned something interesting... Konami, they claim that what they're doing in Casinos are the missing piece... money, to surpass video games.

Yeah, I was actually making that question taking that into account. For me, the strange relationship she has is with Huey, not The Boss. Seems more natural for her to be a lesbian. But maybe she's just bi, or she was gay just for The Boss :P

No way.. The cobra unit was by far the best bosses in MGS for me. Psycho mantis was probably the only other boss fight in mgs that topped the boss fights in snake eater.

the pain, the end, the fury, the fear, the sorrow, ocelot, volgin, and the Boss. No other mgs game can top those fights. Not to mention the shagohod fight with eva was epic as well.

But I don't see who else can lead an army in MGS5 that could cripple big boss and the motherbase. It has to be either the KGB, CIA, or the Patriots. My bet is its going to be the KGB/Russians/Volgin.

I know which set of Boss battles pulled me into the story and which set made me think "Is Kojima serious?"..................YMMV :)

The Shagohod was ok but it's not even comparable with the Metal Gear Rex fights. Then once you beat the "Metal Gear" you either have to;
a) Fight your evil twin/clone brother in hand to hand combat on top of the ruined metal gear in order to stop the launch of a nuke.
b) Stick with exactly the same basic formula as the previous boss fight except now aiming for the gay russian dude in a bright red jumpsuit that is now standing on the shagohods head. Keep shooting him until a massive lightning bolt strikes him and finishes him off for good.
It's not quite like that. REX has two phases too... one with and one without the radome; and the same goes for the Shagohod, there are two phases. Then, after that, you fight Liquid, while in MGS3 you fight The Boss.

I agree with everything else you've said, though. MGS3's boss fights are the most entertaining of the series imo (except for, well, The Pain), but the characters themselves were shallow. I hope we get to see a mix between MGS1 and MGS3 bosses in MGSV... that would be epic.
