I read that Psychologist one earlier today, I really enjoyed it. To be honest I'm not very interested in haunted video game ones. They all seem to follow the same format now. |

Yeah....... a lot of creepypastas involve suicide somehow, and it gets old after a while. |
If my signature is too big, please say something so I can fix it. Thank you.

I just read The Rugrats Theory. As far fetched as it is, it kinda makes me sick. |

I've checked out a lot of creepypastas and I've found most of them to be pretty interesting. I like Squidward's Suicide, Russian Sleep Experiment, and Ted the Caver. I've been wondering though, what exactly is the difference between creepypasta and a regular creepy story? Does the word creepypasta simply imply that the creepy story in question has become fairly popular on the internet? EDIT: This topic inspired me to write a narrative detailing everything I know about the curse that has plagued my family for countless generations. I hope it will make for quite an interesting read. I will post it in several parts in a topic I will create in the Writers' Forum. The opening post will be an introduction of sorts, and each subsequent post of mine will contain information about the nature of the curse and its history from the meager amount of useful information that I've gathered on it over the years through research and conversation with family members who have experienced it firsthand, along with my own experiences. Video game pastas are very predictable. There are two popular ways i've seen: Protagonist picks up used memory card/cartridge/etc from a shady place, or just from GameStop. Weird things start happening, with cryptic messages lying around. Person continues out of curiosity. In the end, either something happens to him, or he searches online and discovers certain games caused horrible events like suicide. Edited by The Baneposter, Jun 8 2013, 05:58:04 PM.

I'd never heard of this meme until a few days ago thanks to this thread. And maybe this is just an Outsiders view, But the actual word or term, Creepypasta, sounds a bit funny. Overlooking the boring ones I read, There were a few unnerving ones. Being interested in horror or not, I'm not to engaged by these stories. If anything, it reminded me of the SCP Foundation. (Secure Contain Protect) Which may or may not be a part of this Creepy Pasta thing. (Same goes for Slender man) With SCP on the mind, and this being a Video Game Forum. I've heard good things about those PC Games based off them. (SCP-087 or The Stairs) (Slender) (SCP Containment breach) I may give this another chance. If someone could recommend me a good one, but not the best. To get me engaged in this sort of thing. But do we really have to call it Pasta? I get really hungry and not scarred when I here the term. |

If any of those are legit, I'd bet it's the first one. None of them have those 'last 30 seconds' though. |

Nah, Suicidemouse is just a pasta. Nothing else, I do appreciate those videos though. They give those pasta....a real feeling, of sorts. |

The videos are not the pasta, they are the so called Suicide Mouse videos. There's a creepypasta about it, but those videos are supposed to be the actual video that originated the pasta. |

Aragorn, your description of the video game creepypastas is so true. XD I'm kind of picky when it comes to them though. The rugrats theory doesn't seem real, it just really makes my view of the entire show change. You guys know about the Ed Edd n' Eddy theory? That they're all dead? |

I know about the Ed Edd n' Eddy one, but it just seems random BS tbh. Not saying the Rugrats one is true, but at least there is some justification for it.

I haven't read any of these yet, but after hearing your plea, I went hunting for some they were talking about. The Rugrats Theory http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/The_Rugrats_Theory Suicide Mouse http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Suicidemouse.avi Loose your Ed http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Ed_Edd_and_Eddy%3A_Lose_Your_Ed Also, a pretty cool, if creepy image. That Ed one has to be one of the most horrendous Pasta i've ever read. It doesn't build a sense of fear at all, it's all confused and jumbled up, the end was a mess.... Ughh. |

The Ed Edd and Eddy one? That's not a creepypasta, it's just a theory that got famous on 4chan or reddit, like the Rugrats theory. |
