Sheesh people, away with the old and in with the new. New characters make it a fresher experience. And plot wise, it makes sense. I mean, MSF just got destroyed, Big Boss moved on and thus, he gets a new supporting cast. I loved how the world looked like, love the transportation methods, love how the weather plays a part of this, I just love the direction Kojima is taking this with the story too. All looking fan fucking tastic. |

Didn't Big Boss amass an entire army? It's possible these characters aren't just younger versions of them, but other people. So anybody else like Ocelot's way of just dumping Big Boss off into Afghanistan? I bet Ocelot's working for the Russians while they were there in the 80s. Maybe we get to see some double agent action from him. |

You forgot "AFL". I don't think it has any significance, it's probably just meant to emphasize the words. |

My thoughts: - The prosthetic arm I don't mind so much anymore, but the horn is still bothering me. A wound like that, with shrapnel embedded that deep, would have caused some serious brain damage - if it is even a survivable wound in the first place. It's not a deal breaker by any stretch, as Metal Gear has its share of "out there" shit, but it's one of those things I'd prefer to do without. But I get that it's a physical representation of the whole "demon" aspect, so at least it's not there just for the sake of being there. - Snake's PP outfit is incredible. Easily one of my favorites in the entire series. And to my surprise, I actually like the ponytail. - Open world, real-time day/night and weather cycles, drivable vehicles, and the ability to jump over and scale obstacles. This game's replayability factor is going to be insane. - Character design is in top form. - I would totally bet on Eli being Liquid. It would be interesting to finally get to see Big Boss interacting with another one of his sons besides Snake. - From what we've heard, I thought Sutherland sounded great. - Fuck you, Chico. - Can Kojima please, for the love of God, start having him referred to as Big Boss? This Snake shit is wearing thin. Edited by CIN, Jun 11 2013, 01:10:19 AM.

Heavily-Armed Trooper

We already know he took part in the Soviet War in Afghanistan from his dialogue in MGS1. My guess is that he will be kind of like our boss in this game and he will assign us our operations. Given that some of the game takes place in Afghanistan maybe we will also see portions in some of the other areas mentioned by him during the torture scene i.e. Eritrea, Mozambique and Chad. |

I think Brain damage is going to be a major plot point here. Like that bastard in that James Bond Film (never seen it). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prefrontal_cortex#Disorders
Agreed. Still feel like the only one that isn't buying this Liquid shtick. I don't remember anyone talking about Liquid ever meeting BB let alone as a child in his army. |

No that's fine, it's just people keep saying "oh, it's a well known fact that BB and Liquid blah blah blah" I wanted to know if they were pulling it out of their arse or had something I don't. |

Change is good. But it isn't easy. Still, to those complaining about the new characters, (Me included) It's good to know many are returning faces(Ocelot, Kaz, Huey) And some of these characters are simply fantastic in appearance and presence(Skullface, Those that don't exist) One of them may turn out to be liquid. So if anything, there is only Two new characters. (On your team that is) |

Quiet seriously annoys me, just because of her attire. How is that a practical sniper attire? Oh well, i'm just nitpicking I guess. |

I was thinking the same thing. And then I remembered Sniper Wolf and Eva. Despite being on the battle field, they wore what they wore. (Very Similar to what Quiet is wearing) (Basically the only connection to Sniper Wolf I see personally) Seems to be more of a common Kojima Trope. Edited by Dr Strangelove, Jun 11 2013, 01:21:07 AM.

I guess so. And yeah, I pointed it out before, but any chances of her being Sniper Wolf? very doubtful. Somehow related? 50/50 chance. Imagine she dies in Kurd territory or something, Big Boss picks up the sniper rifle, gives it to a girl, and then he tells her. ''Call me Saladin''. But knowing Kojima, she's probably her mother or something, if she's related. |

Those are a tad bit more believable than a sniper wearing virtually nothing in the desert. Of course, I am just nitpicking. It ain't a major issue. |
