My boyfriend just moved out and his mom sold his two childhood teddy bears. He is going through some family stuff and has had a bad few months. Here is what I know about this series: Solid Snake hides in boxes. Big Boss has a famous salute. As a joke gift I'm going to make Solid Snake and Big Boss bears (his two favorite characters) to go on his shelf. If you're still with me I could genuinely use some help with this. My plan is to dress two bears in their costumes. I'm going to sew Big Boss' hand to his forehead as the salute. I'm going to put them both in a bag BUT Solid Snake will also be in a generic box. I need help with all the little details here. Every detail needs to be exact (minus the fact that they're bears) because he's extremely detail oriented. If I put an eye patch on the wrong side, I'll be in trouble. So I'm asking for any important/iconic details that I can't mess up. I know this probably sounds stupid but I just want to cheer him up and he really appreciates homemade thoughtful stuff. Anyone that can offer me assistance I would appreciate it greatly. |

There are plenty of reference pictures out there if you look.... You could go off of the figures if that's easier for you, but are you doing Big Boss in his Peace Walker outfit? Formal military uniform? Battle uniform? (or whatever you want to call it) And you're doing Solid Snake from MGS2? Figures I'm sorry but I'm going to be lazy because I don't know what you're looking for. This has all you need for references. if you really want to make teddy bears go ahead but id just like to say i once gave my best friend a Vivi doll(vivi is a character from final fantasy 9,which has been his favourite game since he was like 10) and he loved it.so it might not be such a bad idea to just buy him an action figure.they are a bit pricey but if he really loves the games he will certainly love it.then again since he is your bf the teddy bear might be more appropriate.i dont know the guy so its up to you. |

Those were all PERFECT. Thank you so much! Those are way better quality images than I could find myself. All the angles on the Solid Snake will really help me out. So now that I have the outfits, is there anywhere I can find a close up of the FOX logo on his hat from that scene? I would like to replicate it as similarly as possible. |

Spoiler: click to toggle Note: the border on this is grey, and as far as I can tell on Big Boss's beret in the picture it has a yellowish border. This image is already cut, if you don't want to put an actual patch you can resize it, maybe edit the border and iron it on from this very image. But I don't know just how detailed you want to get, I'm not sure how big the teddy bear will be or if the patches if you decide to buy them online will be too big for the bear's beret. |

UPDATE: I did it! I mostly focused on Big Boss. He turned out really cute! Solid... was a disaster, in my opinion. I sent a picture to David Hayter of them on twitter and he messaged me back saying "Nicely done!" Simply incredible. I don't know how much it may have cost. But a Teddy Bear may seem insignificant as a gift at first. But when you give it an Eye Patch, a Green Suit, (Without pants, simply perfect) and the hat with the Fox Logo. It takes on a whole new meaning if given to a MGS Fan. The details you went into, and the fact you did this on your own. Something like this will probably mean more to him than the usual suspects. And you even got the attention of David Hayter. Wow. I can understand how Solid would have been trickier to pull off. His suit is a tad complex, and I myself don't know where I'd start. I mostly like how you are giving these "Gifts" Not because of an upcoming birthday or even a superficial holiday where it's expected you give. You are doing this because he was going through a rough patch and symbolically he lost two bears. And the original plan was to have had two bears. One Solid, One Naked(Big Boss). That's really clever and creative. And I hope he's as good to you as you are him.

Wow those are cool  I'd buy a Big Boss/Snake/Liquid/Solidus bear. Heck maybe someone should start a MGS stuffed bear toy line  But I'm sure he'll love them. I know I would and you did a good job. Snake can be a little tricky to do with his suit but I think it worked.
