I tried a different ort to no avail. The colors are there just to distinguish between cords right? The yellow cord doesn't have to go into the yellow outlet, correct? |

I think its your internert, try resetting the router. Turn it off, unplug everything, wait difteen seconds, plug e everything in, turn it on. |

Your speeds shouldn't be that slow, even with DSL, you should at least be getting 3-6 Mbps down and 1-3 Mbps up. Call AT&T tech support and tell them you're not getting the speeds you're paying for. It could be a signal strength issue or the modem could have crapped out and is just barely working, either way they should fix those issues for free. Another thing to consider would be how long is the Cat5 cable you've run from upstairs to the basement is, you start getting some loss after about 100'. |
