Yeah pretty yummy Ever drank a beer that's 30-40% ? They exist no kidding. By the way I told you about that fine scotch I drank when I visited a friend. No idea what it was, any suggestions ? It was a clear bottle with white patch and green font...

Lol they do? Didn't know, and sure the hell would not want to taste 30-40% beer... sounds AWFUL! ![]() Anyway, I need more than just a clear bottle, white patch with green font.. How did it taste? Was it light or very strong, maybe smoky and peaty a lot? If it was smoky/peaty, I can border where it's coming from but if it was not smoky/peaty it's pretty hard to say lol Didn't you read the name of the bottle? |

Hahaha I did, but I forgot. Drives me crazy, that stuff was good! I got it for 3€ normally would've been 5€. Uhhm taste was smoky/peaty, rich flavour. I think it was from scotland, if I'm not mistaken... well at least the barkeeper said that. And yes 30% beer isn't tasty for sure! ![]() Well could be it was this

yeah that is one of my favorites for sure. I love Laphroaig 10 yo. It's one of the smokiest from Islay. Btw Islay (one island of Scotland) is the place where 99% of the smoky whisky comes from, of course some of Japanese and Irish and even one American (which name I can't remember) brand have one single malt that imitates the Scotch Islay whiskies when it comes to distilling (2 times instead of 3) and burning peat to dry the malt/barley (or what the hell ever it is down the floor there) instead of using "hot wind" or should I say high temperature room to dry them. If you liked Laphroaig 10 yo, then I recommend you to taste its other products, such as 10 yo Cask Strength Quarter Cask Triple Wood (has some Oak flavors as they use oak barrel in maturating instead of old bourbon barrels) watch this... edit... By the way, in the prohibition era in the States, people could have got that same Laphroaig 10 yo from pharmacy/drug story, as it wasn't considered "alcohol to drink" back then because it was too smoky and people didn't like it and considered it as a poison or something like that because of its taste... from those days the 10 yo has become more mainstream friendly, and even I would love to have more smoky and peaty taste but I still love it. People say that even as recently as in the 90s the Laphroaig scotchs were still very smoky compared to nowadays.

Hello Mate!

I absolutely love Disaronno, straight (with ice) or with a splash of Coke. But if I can't afford a bottle of that, I get a bottle of Amaretto. |

^ A really good scotch. I recommend at least trying it, nearly every bar should have a bottle of that. ![]() This is my favorite whiskey. Tastes really good and the bottle has a classic look. The 18 year old version is slightly better. |

Hahaha, unlucky man. Did you have to go get your stomach pumped or did you just ride it out? I once had around 80cl of Bell's Whiskey in one night, I was at a party and it was free so I just unleashed havoc on it. I felt fine overall but you know when you get the taste and don't want to stop drinking? Well I had that, I poured myself a glass of vodka had a sip then ended up shivering and throwing up for the next day and half. |

I'm a whiskey man myself, I also enjoy rum as well, although the last time i drank Captain Morgan i thought i was Captain Jack Sparrow, named my ex's bed the Black Pearl, told her "all hands on deck" when we made love, and asked "Why is the rum gone?" when we ran out. but I love Jack D., other than that I drink Bud Light and such |

It's ok, test Black Grouse, it's from same brand. It's too an OK blend, I personally like it over the Famous Grouse.
Moro! One of my fav Islay whiskies too. If I'm correct they use the sea water from the Islay strait for it (the name Caol Ila comes from it). Making the taste a bit of a sea watery / salty too along with strong peaty. Btw, I haven't tried 18yo yet but hoping to test it soon, I wonder if the Cask Strength 12 yo is any good. Edited by Cpt.
