Plus they (and the Dark Knight Returns) pretty much set the tone for Batman's intense personality as we know it today, rather than the more camp version of the past. Frank Miller, Alan Moore and Jeph Loeb = Gods

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Playstation Network ID h1432nic Steam ID BULUPTAX	Don't get offended but Bane has never really been anything special to me as a Batman fan that much with the exception of his portrayal in The Dark Knight Rises, he absolutely enthralled me in that movie. In the comics I've read he's just kind of... there. I didn't care for him in Arkham Asylum or Arkham City but he was kinda cool in Origins. Anyway I'll read Knightfall all the way through regardless. I'd also like to read The Dark Knight Strikes Again (sequel to The Dark Knight Returns, my favorite Batman story) despite hearing about its mixed reception.

Spoiler: click to toggle I don't know man, the scene where Bruce makes Jean-Paul crawl through the tunnel and remove all his gear to come upon Bruce standing again in his full kit and is force to acknowledge him as the true Bat is fucking epic. Probably one of my favourite Batman scenes actually. BULUPTAX Cardboard Box Jesus is my new favorite mod. The Long Halloween, The Dark Knight Returns, Year One, The Killing Joke are fucking brilliant reads! Aww Those pretty much make up the core of what Batman is to me. I really really want them to do a Long Halloween (maybe Dark Victory as well) DCAU film as a follow up to Year One. Year One (TDKR as well) is one of the best comic adaptations I've seen. It's almost spot on panel for panel, word for word. Definitely recommend watching to any Batfan. Also recommend A Death in the Family, fantastic read. (I think it has a DCAU adaptation as well, Under the Red Hood). .... I really want to read some Batman after all this talk now, lol.

Bane has pretty much just been there ever since Knightfall because no one is able to write him correctly. Everytime he's some stupid thug for hire, not the intellectual master that took down Batman. I recommend you read The Secret Six, that's one of the few recent times were Bane wasn't so bad. Also, speaking of Death in the Family and all of that jazz, the ''revival'' of Red Hood was terrible.
