It would be really cool if you came across Nightwing/Robin/Catwoman around the city busy doing their own thing (which you can help with if you want) every now and then. Then maybe in a DLC you could actually play them and experience whatever they were up to from their point of view. Could be an interesting way to have multiple storylines going on without drawing away from the main narrative. |

It could be similar with Catwoman's DLC in Arkham City in the way that all playable characters would have their own campaigns and unique objectives but they still tie in with the main narrative in some way. It'd be cool if they got side missions as well. |

Yeah kind of, but rather than her just being there to switch to, she would actively be doing the things you do as her in the DLC while you're running around the city as Bats. |

I'm probably just a derp but I didn't really know what you were trying to say there ![]() Anyway it thought I'd ask this here: What is everyone's favorite Batmobile? My personal favorite is the Batmobile from Batman and Batman Returns. |

The Animated one was great, I remember I had a toy of it when I was a kid and it turned into the Batwing, I don't know what happened to it, I hope I still have it somewhere. EDIT: I found a picture of the toy I had Spoiler: click to toggle The wings on the plane folded to the side and it would slide into the back of the car into one piece. It was a damn cool toy. I remember that I could never get Batman to sit in it properly though XD Edited by BULUPTAX, Nov 8 2013, 01:36:52 PM.

Lol, I mean instead of her just standing on a roof and you going and "switching" with her, while you're running arou d the city doing whatever it is you do, you run into Catwoman, breaking into a Falcone office or something. Like actively playing out her DLC in your game real time. I.e like say in Arkham City you glide past Ivy's place and see Selina takin out he guards and making her way into the building, then coming out later and going off to do whatever she was doing next. And you could stop and help her out or whatever. |

Well that's why you have the actual DLC so you get to play it through completely. Kind of just like a cool extra bonus in the main game (plus setting up DLC story too obviously) |

It is indeed but I'm not tired just yet so I have no real excuse XD. I'm really pissed off about this btw, The Animated movie Mask Of The Phantasm that I was talking about earlier isn't available on DVD anymore (where I live anyway), it was discontinued in 2007. They also don't produce The Animated Series on DVD anymore, I have Volume 1 but I can't get any of the others. Same story with most of the animated movies from the 90s. I might have to get them off Amazon. You can buy them on iTunes but I don't like digital copies. |

Well snap, lol. --- That is really bullshit. I hate when that happens. I had a similar experience trying to buy Amazing Spider-Man comics. like 5 or so years ago you could get like 100 issues a disc on DVD that you could read with a CBR. They had all the way up to the current issues, but they discontinued it. Now if I want it all I have to buy the graphic novels which have only like 4 issues each and are like $15-25 a pop. Ridiculous. And I agree, having hard copy DVDs is so much nicer than digital. I'm a collector. EDIT: Oh and wtf about the Animated Series being discontinued. It is like generally regarded as one of the greatest cartoon series of all time, but they stop selling it? Sorry what!? Edited by Cardboard Box Jesus, Nov 8 2013, 02:18:39 PM.

Why not be able to play as various characters? If they spend the time making unique animations and traversal styles for them then not only could we play as them in free roam but it would also mean they could easily have them there as NPCs we can do some missions with, or even do some co-op free roaming where only the respective Bats+whoever missions would be playable, other than that just those random fights and the like while free roaming. As to the Batmobile, I acknowledge it could get pointless yeah. Imagine if the world is really big though, you could drive from the edge of Gotham to the batcave, go explore Wayne Manor out of the suit like the old Tomb Raider games, find secret areas and stuff haha. I do really hope they don't make another "worst night ever" story though, it would be nice to actually have games story span a few days at the very least, maybe a few weeks. This would also allow them to throw in some daytime missions as Bruce, maybe investigate some things while at a business meeting. I mean lets face it, the Arkham games don't paint Batman as a great detective (granted I've not played Origins yet). Its just switching on super tech goggles and letting the computers in the batcave do everything. |

This. Oh my god this. Don't get me wrong, I've loved all three games so far. But I would really like a story that takes place over a longer period of time than a single night. --- I certainly have no issues as playing as multiple characters. But I would really like to have them also out in the world actively doing stuff while you're playing. I just think it would be awesome to wander into a random area of Gotham and see likie Dick Grayson kicking the shit out of some guys trying to pursue some mission, or Catwoman breaking into a place or something. Actually it's generally what I want out of a lot of games, and eventually for my own creations. I would love a fully realized game world, where (interesting) things are going on whether you are there or not. And I know there's always the chance of missing out on stuff, but you know, that's what replays are for. My ideal thing to do is, I have an RPG story I'm working on, but in conjunction with that and what you as the player are doing, the main city and villagers are carrying out their own stories. I guess effectively what I would like, is to have a kind of mini soap opera story going on and playing out through all the NPCs, rather than them having like a day/night cycle and a few set routines. And you can play on it to your advantage in what you're doing, get involved (maybe change the story a bit through your actions), just watch what happens or ignore it completely. It's your choice, it doesn't actually impact the main story whatsoever, so if you miss things or aren't interested in it at all, it doesn't matter. But adds so much depth and character to the world you're in. Although I'm sure it's probably going to take a ridiculous amount of effort to (maybe) be able to pull off. Anyway, sorry. Went off on a massive tangent there. |

That sounds really awesome. Could lead into lots of dynamic events, like if you spot Catwoman trying to break into some place you could go to stop her leading to an awesome chase across the rooftops and down through alleys and the like. You know what I'd love to see actually in the next game. During a daytime segment as Bruce, you actually meet up with the other characters while they are out of costume. Maybe even get have a visiting reporter by the name of Kent show up and ask you some things, before they go somewhere more private and discuss matters relating to the main story, and possibly whats going on in Metropolis. Just to make the world feel more connected and stuff. ![]() You idea for your game sounds incredibly time consuming. Wasn't that what R* kind of wanted to do with the three protagonists? That they live out their lives while you are playing a different one. It ended up just being a selection of scripted events that eventually we see over and over again. :| |

Exactly! That is more or less what I'm going for.
That's a really great idea. Now that you say that, it would have been an awesome thing to include in Origins, as like their own way of Bruce and Clark meeting. I love the idea of seeing characters in their secret identities, which would be especially cool if Bruce didn't know who they were but you as the player did. Be cool to have like Oliver Queen show up and have a bit of a business rivalry going, but have Batman and Green Arrow meet and get along awesome, and go busting crime together.
Haha, yeah just a bit :P. Yeah, GTAV's thing is a bit like the kind of thing I want to have going but to an even more insane extent lol. Although I think it would be feasible to pull off, especially in what I want to do. I want to do like a vampire RPG, where you get turned and have to survive and stay hidden and slowly get more powerful and stuff. And then there's like the main city (kind of more like a glorified town, with walls and a like a Duke or something) with all individual villagers with their own little stories going that would intertwine with each other. A bit of a fantasy setting Bold and the Beautiful thing going (but not shit and lame lol). The most difficult thing to handle I think would be like player interference. As in how would it affect the story if you killed certain villagers off or whatever. There would be a lot of variables to consider. That would certainly be the most time consuming part. I think it would be relatively easy to get all the NPCs to play out their story and whatnot, it'd kind of just be like a CGI movie. It's the player coming along that will make things messy. |

Arkham City's biggest story flaw is how it crammed so many character in with no real reason, like Solomon Grundy. So they're going to handle Nightwing, Catwoman, Robin AND make them playable? that's a tough thing to do while making them feel relevant. Also, Batman always had those super goggles/technology of his do most of the work, really. Definitely want day time missions, though. Random events are always appreciated, I enjoyed Crime in Progress because it made the world more alive. Please, leave Superman/Green Arrow/other people who aren't Batman characters out of it though. It's a Batman game first and foremost, not a JLA game or whatever. I'd rather see focus put into other stuff than that. A cameo or something I wouldn't mind, heck, maybe even outside of costume appearances, but nothing too drastic. Also, for each NPC to have a special reaction would be ridiculously tough, CBJ. Very ambitious, but it's plausibility as of now, I dunno. Not a fan of the setting though, but the ideas behind it seem nice. |
