I just hope this game takes a long time to beat...and I don't mean side quests and trials, I mean main storyline FFXIII, although a lot of ppl say it wasn't great, i still enjoyed it and the fact it took me 60 HOURS to beat and i never even did the side missions makes me feel like the purchase was worth it. When Kojima says he worries that TPP will be too big, I'd hope that he's talking those numbers, but I'm almost 100% positive he's not. |

I really hope that this doesnt suffer of the ''Main history = 8 hours'', ''30 = useless shit'' crap that many open world games have. |

Yes, I don't want just a bunch of generic fetch quests - Which I could see if it incorporates the Peace Walkers base system. I too really enjoyed Final Fantasy XIII, but Lighting Returns was 90% sidequests/fetchquests & 10% story quests. It's not a game I will be going back to any time soon. Also, looking at that map with the comparison of prior Metal Gears, is that really accurate... I just don't see MGS2's Big Shell being that small in comparison to Ground Zeroes base. |

I mean miles square, not square miles (I didn't know there was a distinction...which was pointed out...but I didn't see it) which means it isn't smaller than GTA3... http://warhorsestudios.cz/pages/blog/img/blog_011_7.jpg ...it's about half SA ![]() I still think it's possible that it's not the whole map. Or is it just a nice coincident that the 8 maps fit perfectly across the map? It's not like they can change the scale to fit like you would some writing. Maybe they just chose a 4000m square ( ) section because it fit with the other maps?

Has aerial vehicles been mentioned before because i dont see a reason for them to have the sky...unless its just to block out the map |

That is my main concern since they announced that they are going to reduce the cutscenes. Take out cutscenes and turn them into audio tape or written notes which can be earned by completing side missions and that how GZ rolled. Although I have to admit that I have enjoyed exploring the camp in different sitting and listening to the tapes but I felt that some of these tapes would have looked better If they were turned into cutscenes.
MGS2 was indeed tiny but both the tanker and the plant had multiple floors which they did not take into account but that doesn't make a huge difference anyway

I read the foggy white part is an area they don't necessarily want to reveal yet but can be discovered in game through exploration. Could have been BS though. |

Actually a story that just drags on and on can claim ''oh its very lenghty'' is significantly worse than a 12 hour story that's excellent. The ''too big to beat'' thing was probably hype talk anyways, I think the entire game with side missions will give us about 40-50 hours of content not including replays, which is pretty great. |

If you are saying that the game is 50 hours long including side stuff then the ''too big to beat'' thing is real! If I remember correctly, Kojima was talking in the context of gamers who are busy just like him. He was afraid that they'll get lost in the game and never finish the main story just like when most of the people do when they play GTA!! |

40-50 hours without replay would be pretty decent as long as they don't end up doing the same mistake with side missions as they did with Peace Walker. |

I don't think that there's going to be that much talking now that they are using facial capture as they are - main thing is probably going to be with facial expressions and less words. |

When exactly have you heard Big Boss talking that much? Most of the things he said are very short conversation and talking is handled by others. Besides, if you just take a look at those facial expressions in GZ, you know that there's no need for words. |

One interesting thing I noticed is that GZ's map shown on the comparison seems to be the entire island, and not just the base that is the playable area. |

It looks that way. Which is good since those hacking videos have shown that it takes about 10 minutes to rush- run from one end to another. At least there's more room to do all kind of stuff with TPP. |

I just hope it point more toward the possibility that there is more of the GZ map that will be made available between now and TPP's release, and not toward the possibility that perhaps we might see a similar thing happen with TPP, where there are large portions of the map that are unused/unreachable. |

I think it's the playable area, the actual 'island' is enormous. However, I think the TPP map we can see includes non playable areas, which might be why it looks more barren around the edges. Edited by Jim Houseman, Jun 8 2014, 09:13:19 PM.

I would agree with you, but the facial thing was absent in GZ, for all the hype talk i think the facial expressions were nothing mindblowing. The most jarring thing to me was the Mother base destruction, you have Kaz screaming like a madman and yet the most emotional protagonist of the series standing silent and inexpressive like a second rate Gordon Freeman that doesnt give a shit, this was one of the most important reasons of his revenge and yet is like Kaz is screaming for him in that scene. Kojima is forgetting something important, you dont need less talking, you need the character talk just the necesary and proper writing, the last of us showed this. |

Wow did you see the same ending as me?? Big Boss looked completed lost and deflated after getting back into the chopper - and did you see how he screamed back at the enemy troops, while firing? No of course you didn't. As usual man, it looks like you're just ripping into GZ for the sake of it. |
