Any scars Chico had could have been grafted over with the excess sausage skin during surgery.

So, two things come to mind after reading this thread. 1) There is no hard evidence denying the possibility that Chico is Quiet. The largest part of this evidence is the simple fact that we never see Chico in any of the trailers. But as some have mentioned, Chico's motivation for revenge fits along with TPP's overall theme so perfectly, that it would indeed be a wasted opportunity. This leads me to... 2) I like the idea that Eagle suggested that maybe Chico plays TOO important a role in TPP to be revealed in any trailer. Personally, I think Chico is a no good snitch who can't be trusted (though, you still can't blame him because he is so young). I could EASILY see Chico going rogue during BB's coma (as he did to try and save Paz). It really is not like Kojima to kill a character off screen. I think we might not even hear about Chico until some time deep into TPP, and he is revealed as a "villain" or even someone we had already been introduced to, but not as Chico (and not Quiet either, ). I put "villain" in quotes because I think a lot of so called protagonists and antagonists, as well as the choices they make, will be extremely morally ambiguous. Like, playing as BB, the player will feel wretched performing some gruesome things that BB does, but at the same time as some sort of powerful reason for doing so.
I like this idea. And even if Chico isn't Quiet, I, for some reason, have the strong feeling that Chico may actually play a good counterpart to an increasingly evil Big Boss. Like he is becoming the man Big Boss was before his fall from grace.
I like that. I do remember Chico looking up to Big Boss as a role model, Chico could actually become a man like pre-TPP Big Boss, while Big Boss himself starts turning into a "demon." That would actually be amazing. Chico is a skilled fighter by '84, he's personally trained by Big Boss. He sees BB go bad and rebels against him. It'd be extra awesome if he's a part of DD and is an extremely cool soldier, almost on BB's level. He's actually the good guy at this point, heavily resembling BB in his "goodie two shoes" years. He stands up to BB, epic boss fight takes place, BB puts him down.

And Chico also wouldn't want to ally himself with Kaz because of his irrational hatred for Paz and he doesn't take orders from anyone who isn't Big Boss. If I had to take a guess, and this is a wild one, I think that Chico is actually with EVA. We saw that in MGS4, she was taking in war orphans. So after the destruction of MB, I believe EVA locates the survivors and eventually meets and sympathizes with Chico, specially since she is now a mother. Eventually one of the two comes up with the idea of Paradise Lost, with the other being second-in-command. If it is Chico, then after he dies in TPP, EVA takes command.

Eagle, that's an interesting theory. But EVA was a horrible, cliche character. I really don't want her to return.

And even if Kaz hates Paz, it definitely isn't as strong as you assume it to be.

Eagle, that's an interesting theory. But EVA was a horrible, cliche character. I really don't want her to return. Yeah. Quiet is already providing the Fox Engine titties so she'd just be redundant at this point. Lol. Though OT that's an interesting theory. Maybe they could make EVA into a deeper character. I always kinda liked her

You too have known loss, and that loss torments you still. You hope hatred might someday replace the pain, but it never goes away.

Spoiler: click to toggle Nature has a way sometimes of reminding man of just how small he is. She occasionally throws up terrible offsprings of our pride and carelessness to remind us of how puny we really are in the face of a tornado, an earthquake, or a Godzilla. The reckless ambitions of man are often dwarfed by their dangerous consequences. For now, Godzilla, that strangely innocent and tragic monster, has gone to Earth. Whether he returns or not, or is never again seen by human eyes, the things he has taught us remain...

I think there's more than a reasonable possibility that Eva makes an appearance in TPP. She was, after all, the mother who birthed BB's clones. She also has connections to Ocelot from her days in the KGB.

What's going to fix his ankles? Nanomachines? Maybe a pair of robot feet.

haha ya really, I think they can fix Chico's feet if they can give Big Boss a robotic arm. Althought it might not be in the budget.
I always thought it was weird how they put those bolts in Chico's foot/ankle. They could have simply had Chico too exhausted or unconscious to walk on his own with Big Boss and no one would question it.

So, I just saw this thing at gamefaqs that would make some sense. Kojima stated that the 3rd person in the GDC trailer was himself. The thing is, in real life, Kojima was 12 around the time of 1975, which is approximately the same age Chico is. So? We all know Kojima gives off riddle solutions like this.

That black kid with the afro is gray fox.
Kojima said in the KP Alert his name was Julius.
Which KP alert? Oops . Hadn`t had a look at this thread in a while. Kojima said so in the same podcast he revealed it was Paz who`s guts was shown in the 2013 trailer and that Snake had a companion with him who was "cute".

I do remember Chico looking up to Big Boss as a role model, Chico could actually become a man like pre-TPP Big Boss, while Big Boss himself starts turning into a "demon."
That would actually be amazing.
I actually doubt that Chico is going to be with DD. Considering how Kaz is hating of Paz, I believe that he will also blame Chico for the destruction of MSF. I don't think Kaz has a deep-seeded hatred for Paz. He just snapped at her in the chopper. He didn't even know if she had a part in it. He merely needed to let go of some anger. And even if Kaz hates Paz, it definitely isn't as strong as you assume it to be.

And considering Kaz's new darker personality, I'm pretty sure Kaz does hate Paz. And that he will also blame Chico and Huey. It's perfectly normal to be angry at someone for trying to destroy MSF. They're not mortal enemies or anything. Chico isn't gonna leave MSF because Kaz dislikes Paz (with good reason). In the heli, he simply snapped, that's all.

Any scars Chico had could have been grafted over with the excess sausage skin during surgery.

I like that. I do remember Chico looking up to Big Boss as a role model, Chico could actually become a man like pre-TPP Big Boss, while Big Boss himself starts turning into a "demon."
That would actually be amazing.
I actually doubt that Chico is going to be with DD. Considering how Kaz is hating of Paz, I believe that he will also blame Chico for the destruction of MSF.
I don't think Kaz has a deep-seeded hatred for Paz. He just snapped at her in the chopper. He didn't even know if she had a part in it. He merely needed to let go of some anger. And even if Kaz hates Paz, it definitely isn't as strong as you assume it to be.
Kaz repeatedly calls Paz a bitch, even before the chopper incident, as shown by the audio tapes. And you can see Chico try to push Kaz off of Paz.
Still, I doubt Kaz would be welcoming of Chico and would most likely blame him for the destruction of MSF just like they did with Paz and Huey. The same way he couldn't let go of the fact that Paz tried to destroy MSF, he won't let go of the fact that Chico ran off, got himself captured, and gave up information of MSF.

haha ya really, I think they can fix Chico's feet if they can give Big Boss a robotic arm. Althought it might not be in the budget.
I always thought it was weird how they put those bolts in Chico's foot/ankle. They could have simply had Chico too exhausted or unconscious to walk on his own with Big Boss and no one would question it. I'm sure they wanted to maim a character.

Eva will definitely be in Phantom Pain. Never cared for her character much but never hated her. Was abit of ps2 era eye candy so why not.

@Eagle No-one is going to hate Chico for doing what he did. He's a kid that has been tortured intensely. Paz betrayed MSF, so did Huey. Huey's betrayal was definitely worse. Bad enough to hate him? I'd say yes. But Chico never betrayed MSF, he never meant any harm.
