The only thing that's ridiculous about the eli=liquid theory is the sheer amount of solid arguments supporting it.

And what exactly are you calling ridiculous, anyway? Chico being in TPP?

Yeah I don't think Chico will be that important in the story. I'm hoping he'll remain a side character, but in the meantime also become interesting (most likely something with revenge). In my eyes, that'd be the perfect approach.
On the other hand, there are plenty characters going through the revenge thing already, so it's somewhat unnecessary
I doubt Chico will become important also, due to the general dislike towards him among the community, and I really do not see how they can make his role more important without it coming across as forced / cheesy. So yea, kill of Chico or side line him. Just do not make a surprise unraveling that he is actually *insert fan favourite character here* or some BS.
Raiden was generally disliked by the community and Kojima went on to turn him into a Cyborg Ninja to increase his popularity. I think Chico being disliked will only incentivate Kojima to make the character cooler and more popular. And I can see him being important to the story in an unbiased way.

Thats the thing, Raiden = cyborg felt forced (like all of MGS4's plot), and the reason Raiden was hated was not due to his character but due to him being the main protagonist of MGS2 rather than Solid Snake. Raiden was a decent character with an annoying voice.

Chico was the most annoying character I have had the displeasure of seeing in MGS. He offers nothing, has a more annoying voice than Raiden (lol). is a whiny bitch (who cares if he is a kid, he shouldn't be a soldier if he is going to be a whiny shit) who serves no purpose in Big Boss's revenge plot. If Big Boss kills Chico then yes. He serves a purpose.

"The only thing that's ridiculous about the eli=liquid theory is the sheer amount of solid arguments supporting it."

? Did I miss read you? Do you believe Eli is not liquid?

Chico isnt even as popular as Raiden at his worst, he is a side character from a portable game that many people hasnt even played, your bias is showing, heck reading this forum many people dislike C. Raiden even more.

I admit, I am biased. But the thing is, the general consensus by the fandom is the cyborg Raiden is great and better than MGS2 Raiden, even if disliked on this forum.

So heīs annoying just because of his voice and the fact that he is a 13 old child and isnīt capable of doing as many things as adults or enduring extreme torture? And it doesnīt change the fact that Raiden was extremely hated.

Oh, well. Iīm done trying to convince people.

Raiden was bothersome because he just wasn't what Raiden should be. In MGS2, he annoyed the hell out of me with his incessant dumb questions, whining, etc. But actually, his overall story is awesome. I love his character, but he was poorly portrayed in MGS2, imo.
Chico never did bother me because he's a kid acting his age. It felt normal, fitting.
A Foxhound operative only asking stupid questions and being bothered by his girlfriend about him forgetting what day it is, didn't.

And yeah, I meant to say that the eli=liquid theory has a lot of solid support

Agreed. Although I also liked MGS2 Raiden since I was able to connect more with him than I did with Solid Snake.

I dislike Chico because he is unnecessary and feels like the little kid (Carl) from Walking Dead.

He adds nothing to the plot and provides unneeded / unintentional comic relief due to his horribly acted dialogue and his terrible overall script / back story. Having him as a main character is a no no in mine and many others books.

Raiden I believe was deliberately bad due to him conveying us, noobs that feel like we are / emulate REAL warriors like Solid Snake on the Battlefield, when we are nothing more than untrained couch potatoes playing a game and following orders, therefore he had purpose. Chico is a little fucking brat that is not needed.

Well, thereīs nothing I can do to change your minds. The truth is, I see a lot of myself in Chico, and he is hated for being a child. Iīm sure that if he were more mature, then lots of people would like him. All we can do is wait for the game and theorise what happens to him.

We are not Raiden, always felt that plotpoint was dumb, Kojima should have make him a VR soldier ergo a Call of duty player i dont know without the Liberia subplot, the moment he reveals that he was a killing machine since childhood the whole Player=Raiden felt really forced, the guy maybe has a body count higher than both SS or BB.

He is not hated for being a child, re-read my post, that is just one of the reasons. Heck Eli is shaping to be a badass and he is a child. Paz was a child until the plot twist and she wasn't hated. He is hated for much more complex reasons than you would like to admit. However it is your opinion to like him, I just deem him utterly pointless and a badly portrayed character, that might have had potential but it is ultimately lost in his bad dialogue, pathetic voice actor (deliberate or not) and lack of a decent back story "Oh, I wanna be a hunter..." "Paz!", " I would rather be dead", "No wait don't kill me". "Argh!!". Fuck em.

The overral message of MGS2 is great (in fact i consider it a fluke from Kojima's storytelling output) but like i said i never got the whole Player = Raiden, we, along with him, ideolize Snake but that is it, he is not the noob that was presented in the start and his background doesnt make him sound like you everyday fanboy nerd videogame player.

@Thebull94: How was Raiden becoming a Cyborg Ninja felt forced? At the end of 2 we were given a sword and he was trained by Solidus so that makes sense. I mean maybe the Cyborg part but that was mainly telling what happened to him between 2 and 4 which also makes sense.

I disagree. Watch this video, hopefully you will get the theory, if not fuck it. Believe what you want, there is no concrete evidence (confirmation from Kojima himself) anyway.

Turning a prissy boy into a cyborg ninja stopping fucking ships in their tracks and making him a super saiyan hulk in No.4 when he simply was not needed isn't forced and ridiculous ? Cool story bro.
