Kojima said this is the end of Big Boss's story and will close the loop but will set the stage for the future of the franchise. I have a feeling they are going to groom Chico into the new protagonist for the later Metal Gear titles
We don't need more MGS games aside from remakes of MG 1 and 2

Chico would be too old to be the protagonist of a game set after MGS4... unless they want a hero in his/her 50s

We may not need more but we will get nore for as long as it is profitable. With or without Kojima

It doesnt have to be set after MGS4...

It could be his exploits during the time between TPP and MG1

Lol, I love how this theory just don't want to die :D

On a serious note though, I can't help noticing how strange it is indeed that we never see Chico since GZ. Another trailer just came out, and little bastard still not in it. It's not in Kojima style to murder characters off-screen, so I'd say something's clearly going on there.

I like how some people seem genuinely angry whenever the Chico=Quiet theory is brought up. Most people were already scoffing at this theory without really explaining why, and even before Stephanie "confirmed" anything (more on that later). I thought it was completely ridiculous when I first heard of it too, but I didn't give it too much thought until I saw YongYea's video analysis (this is a pretty good channel, by the way). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9DtyqOX2L8

You have to admit, there are things that fit really nicely into this theory. As far as Stephanie's confirmation goes, let's not forget that we might only have a rough translation of what she said in that Kojima Station episode, and that Quiet may well be considered a "she", the same way Chelsea Manning is a "she".

Now, before anyone jumps down on my throat, I'm not saying I wish any of this to be true, I'm just a bit disappointed the vast majority of arguments seem to revolve around "tis SO dumb!" to try to counter this theory, or rely so much on what an actress said about the game (that she probably isn't even allowed to confirm or deny, like others have pointed out), which ironically isn't as compelling an argument as the ones this theory tries to present. I dunno... I like to think that maybe I've missed some extensive debate among MGS fans. I still haven't even played MGS:GZ, and haven't been paying much attention to this forum for quite some time, so maybe I did miss some key info. Just my 2 cents.

I'm friend with Kojima's gardener, and he told me that Quiet is actually Chico's mom, brought from the past. Kojima intends to introduce time travel in TPP.

Where the fuck is Chico in the new trailer? You know what, fuck it. I'm just going to pretend he's Quiet using mechanical ankles to do ninja jumps until I get some sort of confirmation he's alive.

Yeah, I was actually the same way after watching Yong's analysis. Even thought for a second that it's in fact very sinister and morally damaged trans goes pretty well with all this "man become daemons, hate, revenge etc" shit. But only for a second. And after Stefanie's response all doubts vanished (at least for me). It's too fucked up even for Kojima. If rape motive is true, Chico could have simply castrated himself.

Plus, there's gotta be at least one real chick in this gayme :roy:

You guys are probably going to hate me for saying this, but I'm really starting to believe that Quiet is Chico again. I think Stefanie lied to us. I mean, we didn't see Chico in the new trailer and the way Quiet does those ninja jumps on the soldiers makes me think that she (Chico) got mechanical tendons the same way Big Boss got a mechanical arm.

Would it just be to simple of me to expect him not to have survived the crash of Ground Zeroes?... I know that's bleak but I could accept that. I would prefer that than the Quiet theory...

I mean I initially thought that Ishmael at the Hospital sequence was Chico, which I am still not ruling out but instead of that actually being Chico, I feel that maybe Chico is dead and Ishmael is more of a spirit of Chico guiding BB in the hospital - due to the surreal nature of what happens in the hospital would the spirit of Chico assisting BB be really out there? I don't have much to back up such theories of course, just current thoughts.

NO! He's NOT DEAD! I refuse to accept that! And I refuse to accept he died an anti-climatic dead in a helicopter crash which everyone else survived! He will be a massive character in TPP! I refuse to accept anything else!
