I think he's a little bit oblong myself. (But seriously, would you mind clarifying what you mean?) |

A circular (or round) character is a major character in a work of fiction who encounters conflict and is changed by it. If you think of the characters you most love in fiction, they probably seem as real to you as people you know in real life, this is a good sign that they are round characters. |

Ah, thank you. Yes, Big Boss if most certainly a Circular character based off of this definition. Him killing The Boss, destruction of Mother Base etc. all change him. |

dynamic character is the term you are describing, and yes BB is most definitely an accurate example of a dynamic character in the MG universe. |

kojima is incredible! how the fuck have i not seen that?!
|
In paper he should be the most complex character but his develoment is awful so far imo. I think being so tied to another character is big error from kojima part it only degrade the aspect of the legendary soldier. He come across as a softer solid snake and that is negative point to me |

The world would be better without Snakes.
|
Soooo...you mean a dynamic character? There's static characters and dynamic...I've never heard of a "circular" character... @Bladewolf: A softer character? He was made to be more human in nature, express more emotion. The reason being, Kojima considers him to be more of a "real" person than Solid Snake, whom is simply a clone. He's not a "softer" character. Do you think Solid Snake could kill any of his female accomplices if ordered to? Probably not. Big Boss is a hard ass. He killed his mentor, his lover, his friend, and his mother figure. That's some pretty fucking heavy shit, and we can clearly see it affects him through subsequent games. MGSV will obviously be the most striking change though. Edited by Black Adder, Apr 28 2014, 05:25:07 AM.

Like Raiden said in MGR about Solid In terms of pure combat ability, he's one of the greatest soldiers I've ever seen. But it's not only that... He knows what's right, and he just gets it done. Period. No one can stop him. |
