One thing I'm really hoping is explored in TPP is Solid & Liquid when they are younger, assuming Eli from the trailer is actually Liquid, it wouldn't make sense to not include Solid aswell. Also, considering how big the game is supposed to be and how it is supposed to bridge the gap towards Metal Gear, I'm praying that not only will we see Solid Snake again but also the return of David Hayter. I'm down with Kiefer as the new Boss but after all David has done for the series it'd be horrible not to hear him again. ANYWAY. Thoughts? (soz if already a thread).

Why do you want Hayter to voice a teenage character? That would sound terrible. Do you also want Liquid's voice actor to voice Eli?

In anycase, if Eli is indeed Liquid then yeah I can't see them not including Solid to at least a small section of the game.

The idea of either Hayter voicing a 12 year old Snake or Cam Clarke voicing a 12 year old Liquid makes me laugh.

What? I'm not saying that at all. It wouldn't be unlikely for TPP to cover several time periods, so seeing the Snakes when they are teens, and then again in their twenties would make sense.

Well sure, I agree with that but at the same time - do you think Hayter would sound good as an early to mid 20 year old anymore? While I would like to see the game span different years, which I think it will (using the companion app on phone when you take a screenshot and post to twitter it will actually say the year and location (so, Camp Omega, 1975). Can't see why they'd have that included unless TPP will span several different years).

That said, I wouldn't want to see Hayter return to be honest. If Kojima does make a remake of MG1/2 or MGS it will be with a new voice actor anyway so I think they should just leave Hayter out of it now. To each their own though. :)

By the time they are twenty Metal Gear 1 will be right around the corner.
I think an after credits scene where we hear the beginning to the operation in MG1 seems the most likely.

@Ev.
I would absolutely hate it if they got a new VA for Solid Snake.
I already dislike the change for BB.

After credits idea is nice, I can see that happening. Also, David Hayter will always be the voice of Solid Snake for me, but like you said Ev, to each their own.

If you have no excitement for TPP then why are you in the MGSV section?
Also if a 12 year old Solid Snake showing up for a few minutes is the only reason you'd be excited for MGSV then that just ridiculous.

While I think it would be cool to hear the beginning of Solid Snake's mission in the end credits to TPP, I'd be just as happy if he were only mentioned. That's what I love about Metal Gear, it always keeps you guessing.

Solid Snake will definitely be mentioned at the very least. There's a reason Kojima says stuff like "you'll have to wait until you play it!" every time it's brought up. :P

Clearly, based on a wealth of evidence I've gleaned from peering down into my tea, we will play as Big Boss up until he sends Snake on his MG mission at which point we switch over to playing as Snake to infiltrate the very base we built up for the first 90% of the game. Thus closing the series out.

But nah, I think we'll see him a few times in cutscenes or being discussed in cassette tapes and such. I think we'll see a fair bit of Liquid though to be honest.

I chose fiddle, but I'd say yes. The fact that Kojima didn't want to say anything about Solid Snake in MGSV in fear of spoiling it, as well as his his magnificent troll smile, points to Solid Snake probably having some role in the game.
You too have known loss, and that loss torments you still. You hope hatred might someday replace the pain, but it never goes away.

And how do you know it's likely that it'll cover several time periods when none of the other games have done the Assassins Creed style time skips between chapters? As far as we've seen, the only time skip is between Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain, there's nothing implying any further time skips afterwords. And no, the GZ to TPP skip doesn't count, every Metal Gear game that has a prologue chapter and a main course have always had a time skip between them, whether it's a mere week to two full years.

Besides, how could Hayter voice a 20 something year old Solid Snake with his Peace Walker voice? That's just flat out terrible.

Besides, there's very little chance of encountering a young Solid Snake anyway, he and Big Boss never met until Snake was recruited into FOXHOUND in 95. Liquid was the only one to have met (or implied to have met) Big Boss prior to those events.

Face it, Hayter's time with the franchise is done, he really never should've had any role in the Big Boss games anyway, and his comically exaggerated voice doesn't really fit with the dark turn the franchise seems to be taking.

@Anyone saying Solid Snake will be mentioned because something Kojima said. Kojima also said that Liquid Snake would play a role in Peace Walker, did that happen? No.

Because I have interest in the open world gameplay, story can suck my dick, at this point is more filler to me, alredy know the outcome. Besides i always was intriged to see a infant Snake.

David has already proven that he can still do the ps1 mgs1 snake voice. He just alters it as the series went on and as snake got older.
Look at the snake vs monkey voice he did. I never personaly thought he could do the snake voice that high.
But i do doubt mgsv is gonna continue on to the first metal gear since kojima already confirmed that wasnt gonna happen.
