If this has been discussed before, please by all means answer and lock. I've been looking all over but I can't seem to find an official answer to this question. |

Well can the TPP even run on XBOX360 or PS3? GZ runs fine, but it's WAYYYY smaller. |

I think it's funny people call PS4/XBone next gen.... It's now the current gen. Last gen is PS3 / 360 |

Look at skyrim or fallout or gtav those games are MASSIVE and are probably bigger than TPP is gonna be but they work just fine on the last gen consoles except the ps3 had some lagging problems from time to time so I doubt koji pro will see a huge problme trying to make their game run on the ps3 n 360 |

I think Bethesda just doesn't know how to develop correctly or just rush their products. IMO I had almost zero problems with New Vegas. Some of my friends though quit due to glitches and bugs. Skyrim is a game I invested about 100 hrs in. I remember going into cities and my frame rate dropping to like 10 fps and eventually died. GTAV now was something to behold. Story wise though it doesn't hold a candle to Skyrim or Fallout But I have hope for Fallout 4 on PS4 Either way I'm sure we can both agree Bethesda releases bug ridden games. |

All of those games are massive, true. However, they don't have the lighting or the detail that TPP will have. Kojima even said all soldiers faces are different in GZ and he wasn't lying from what I can tell. I just think if TPP is gonna look like ass like Battlefield 4, they really should shut down dev for last gen, and focus more on current gen. |

Aside from less resolution and some effect, TPP is gonna be perfectly playable in last gen consoles, remember this game is just a upped PS3 era game. |

This is kind of my gripe. Snake Eater was made on dated hardware, but KP pulled out all the stops and made a seriously amazing game. They focused on the PS2's hardware and made it do things no one thought possible. If KP wanted to make TPP for PS3 initially, why not make it Sony exclusive and focus completely on PS3? I'd rather see 5 years down the road the next MGS built from the ground up for PS4, not a port, which is basically what TPP is. Kinda reminds me of last gen's first year, where nothing really screamed next gen. Hey it's the game you can get now on last gen, but buy our new box and we offer you crisper textures and higher resolution. Is this seriously what next gen has become? Game play wise according to Kojima this concept wasn't possible on last gen, yet wait...GZ, and TPP is on PS3? So the game play can be accomplished on last gen? Snake Eater pushed PS2, but if GZ and TPP pushes the PS3 in the same way...why did Kojima wait for next gen to release the game??? Kojima intended SE to be on PS3, but he didn't wait, and made a proper next gen MGS game made specifically for PS3 hardware later |

Yeah, well, we have to wait for MGS6 for a proper ''next/current gen'' game, this game sadly is gonna look really dated compared to the monsters of next year, is strange sensation, MGS always was a top end graphics series, now just looks okay.

Well if this game comes out spring 2015 or even later (summer 2015) then there's no reason to release it on last gen. I would like to see a 'current gen' release only. Not only for the power but also for the online multiplayer which will be a little bit chaotic when you have 4 consoles on different servers and people can't play together probably. Current gen only is the way to go imo

By the time TPP comes out the PS3 and 360 will be outdated so anybody who buys the game on those consoles is paying for a downgraded product. |

i agree. That's something i've been thinking too. MGO on 4 different consoles wouldn't work... And i wish MGSV was developed to launch on Current gen only. I want to see all the potential of Fox Engine |

They have been outdated for quite a few years already. One could argue that they were already outdated when they were released. I mean for "HD consoles" they sure have had a lot of subHD games. MGS4 released back in 2008 and it was below 720p.. Edited by Letho, May 1 2014, 01:03:04 PM.

Thats not really true. When you look at games like GTA V which push the consoles to their limits you see there was still a bit of life left in them. In a years time though last gen versions of games will basically just be downgraded versions since a lot of players will be starting to switch over to current gen consoles and they will be developer's main focus. Certain developers will of course keep making last gen games for years to come to cater to the younger market like EA did with their sports titles on the PS2 and even PSP for a while. |

That's true. The water in GTAV still amazes me everytime i see it. I never seen water looking so real in any game wether it's current or last gen. But i still wish MGSV was developed only for PS4 and XBOX One |
