Fingers crossed another member of the incontinent Sasaki family will be making a come-back.
Remember this game has a darker tone, so this will affect Johnny too. This time it will not be funny poop jokes and whatnot. In this game this will be a major plot point. He will have bowel cancer and crap blood. Maby this is some of the taboo subjects Kojima was talking about. Johnny will be in great agony. "The fecies Iv'e lost. Wont stop hurting. Its like its all still there. You smell it to? I`m gonna make them give back my crap!"
Every one of my posts, with the exception of this one, is laced with subtle layers of irony. Let me clarify - Sasaki was never funny for anyone over the age of five. My hope is that MGS6 will start with Solid Snake waking up after the events of MGS2 and stating, "Wow, I just had an abysmally written dream in which Meryl marries that incontinent Sasaki, and I was an old man with a moustache and was fighting Ocelot but he had hyptonised himself to think he was Liquid by a nanomachine or something..."
The MGS6 part was irony though.
No it wasn't, that is my genuine dream for MGS6 - that way the nightmare of MGS4 would be undone.
K den. Now that I have you one a more serious side, you do know that my first response to you concerning that whole Sasaki thing was irony on my part too right?

Let's just agree that it would be excellent if Sasaki's would-be father gets some kind of terminal illness preventing him from reproducing in TPP, and then MGS6 reveals the entirety of MGS4 to be a terrible dream.

kojima is incredible! how the fuck have i not seen that?!
With Kojima on board? Hell no, I expect more fanfic level storytelling, just watch this Quiet character being B&B 2.0 (the beast look like machine mosters in a futuristic battlefield at least, Quiet look like a cheap prostitute) , now he is trying to touch hard themes like RACE, a guy that havent portrayed correctly any charactar that wasnt white ( just look at PW) , is going to fall above on his egotistical face.
Karma's a bitch, huh? Fucking hack

That Kojima is playing with things above of his capabilities as a writer touching serious themes like race.

I see, yes - a decent point. I am glad he is trying though, as a middle aged man defecating in a barrel is often considered as the plot highlight of MGS4.

Ahahha lol you right, i think his apex in putting a good story (not writing, he never was good at that) was MGS2. The following games showed how cheap ''emotional'' stories in a general poor plot works well with the fanbase, so he will continue to beat that dead horse.

During that last Kojima Station it seemed Quiets breasts was decreased. Looks more natrual now.

Like MGS5, the main storyline will appear simple in the cutscenes, but the tapes will complicate things tremendously.

I hate, hate, hate all the exposition in earlier titles in the series -- all the characters tell you what's happening removing any sense of mystery or intrigue. I like that we will be able to unwrap things ourselves with tapes.

I think this is what Kojima meant when he said we'll have to piece much of the story together ourselves. I hope that the game won't revolve around tape-collecting, though.
You too have known loss, and that loss torments you still. You hope hatred might someday replace the pain, but it never goes away.

Think about it... we'll get to theorize about the story AFTER WE'VE PLAYED THE GAME. For the first time we will get a somewhat ambiguous story.

What a brilliant move Kojima Productions.

People acting as if story ambiguity is revolutionary shows just how bad the storytelling/writing in those games can be. Integrating the bulk of story into tapes is lazy, ambiguity doesn't have to equal stripping off parts of the story and putting it somewhere else, you don't really change anything like that.

+1.

It's kind of ridiculous that you need to sit and listen to an hour worth of tapes to get the full story of a game.

Well people complained that the game had to much dialog, to many cutscenes which explained to much story.
Now all of that has been made optional, and still people complain.

I never complained about cutscenes, or excessive dialog.

I do prefer games with a proper balance between gameplay and cutscenes though. E.g. MGS3.

I didnt say you did, im just generalizing because ive seen complaints in various sites.
Well now its not gonna be balanced.
People this generation dont have the attention span for 50/50 cutscenes and gameplay.
And since the majority of people are liked that and considering kojima has gotten the same thing saying that mgs is like a movie.
Now its gonna be changed to be more appealing.
And since mgs has alot of story they needed to put it in somehow while still keeping alot of gameplay time inbetween cutscenes. Much more than mgs3 did.
Theres still gonna be cutscenes but they wont be every 50 feet like mgs4 was.

I think having audio tapes that you can listen to as you play is a good compromise since the game is gonna be large enough in scale to accomodate it

The world would be better without Snakes.
I'm sure TPP will still have cutscenes, though they will be shorter and only for significant parts of the game. He said it will be more like a TV series than a movie.

I sometimes feel that I don't really know what good writing is.
Good writing, to me, is something that passes the writer's message as best as possible, "moves" people. sometimes makes them think, and is overall something memorable. I think that pretty much all the MGS games have that. But, of course, that's up to every individual's opinion. There's no objectively "good" or "bad" writing.

Except TLoU, one of the most loved and treasured games there is a perfect balance between cinematic and gameplay. This has nothing to do with this generation being a bunch of twats or something, MGS has lots of redundant cutscenes and dialogue, but when you just take the story and put it elsewhere, it doesn't mean it's now more ambiguous, better written or whatever, you just put the story in another fucking place instead of trying to actually integrate it properly into the game.
