In cutscenes; yes. In gameplay; maybe.

If not gore, I'd like to see blood on the level of the 2014 E3 trailer when he shoots the guys holding him back, in GZ the blood spatter on bodies is awesome but not so much on surfaces, only thing bloody is the pool of blood that forms underneath a body AFTER you've killed them and some wimpy looking smudge next to them sometimes. For gore they could add rare instances of dismemberment from explosives if the soldier is close enough, but I would like to see more blood spatter effects tbh.

For once, I'd like to see a game which is anti-war actually depict the brutality of war. I doubt they'll add anything but the pink mist. Gotta recruit the young, impressionable masses into the military somehow. Either through reverse psychology or blatant government propaganda. Take your pick. The cake is a lie.

No need for "realism" when the real trauma of war can never be experienced in a video game.

Motherbase was never the heaven we wanted it to be. However, I enjoyed the moments I shared with all of you.

On a battlefield blood and gore aren't censored or made more pg13 so yes i want more gore as it is next gen so it is more realistic so i want limbs flying off guts coming out and charred bodies etc because that is what it is like in real life

Apparently, in Yongyea's new demo analysis he points out that head shots and CQC moves are bloodier than Ground Zeroes. This makes me happy. :)

If it depends on weapons, sure. If its an explosive weapon and I don't get limbs blown off, I'll be a little disappointed.
You too have known loss, and that loss torments you still. You hope hatred might someday replace the pain, but it never goes away.

I don't care really because in the end of the day, I love gore. I know not many would love gore as much as me, but for me, I am not that bothered if you see Big Boss shooting a child in the face a million times until you see it's skull, I don't think I'd be spooked
Well, that is where fans like myself would differ in opinion. I would find something like that a bit disturbing. I'm imagining that we will have to kill child soldiers during the Africa portion of the game, and that will be a hard sequence to play through (for me, that is).

On the topic of grenade damage and exploding limbs, I don't think we will see that in this game. Would it add realism? Absolutely.

Does anyone miss the original MGS1 & MGS2 choke/neck snap as a CQC lethal technique?

The topic of video game violence and "realism" is an interesting one, as it is always changing with our cultural ideas of what is "acceptable."

Nice post, mate!
