I'd buy an XB1 alone just to get this game. That's how hyped I am for it.

Why XB1? Just curious. I have thought PS4 is the lead platform

With MGS5, a lot of things have me excited. I don't know what I am more excited about between the story itself or the open world gameplay. It seems like a dream come true for any Metal Gear fan. Now if this was Outer Heaven/Zanzibar Land, I'd die

Hmm open world gameplay? I have thought it's just a marketing because every game is supposedly open world. I believe kojimas defintion of open world is more freedom within the mission. Infact it's sandbox, we define open world as Huge maps ala GTAV but kojima not. Kinda misleading

Yeah but you have to be naive to think that isnt a mistranslation but in a sense it does go open world because the maps are definitely more "open" but idk how anyone could think we were gonna be doin GTA type gameplay

Every open world game will be compared to GTA V. But yeah like i have said i always thought it's Sandbox level style. It's just cool for devs to say it's open world because its sound and sell better :)

Plus for some reason I just had this feeling that mgo will be a subscription based game on-top of the things we already pay for like ps+ and xbox live I just hope that's not the case
I don't think we'll have to pay but I have a feeling it'll end up being like GTA Online where it gets released a few weeks after the main game.
Yea man I think this might be the case and look how gta turned
Out ;)

MGO. After MGS4 I don't really have much optimism for the single player/story part of the game. GZ didn't really help it much, PW mission system doesn't work well for a big game, the interruptions would be very bad for pacing.
Story wise it will never surpass MGS2, and it won't hit an emotional peak as well as MGS3. It will be the best gameplay wise MGS, but I don't expect it to be much more than that.
Very true. Mgs2 was a masterpiece at moving story through emotion. When Hal lost ee and knew he had to leave her behind was intense and emotional. A lot of people gave mgs2 negativity. It's understandable it was probably a dissapointment not playing as snake bit I enjoyed seeing it from a different perspective. Mgs2 was and always be classic the same for mgs1. :) kojima is a legend!

Otacon crying in 2 & 4 was so tedious I'm sorry. Also I found towards the end the first time I ever played MGS2 it got kinda confusing. I genuinely think that TPP will have the best storyline yet, I mean we're talking about some real shit man, Boss goes dark, maybe kills some child soldiers? Shiiiiieet

the thing i am most excited about is the ability to complete missions in any way i seem fit, i was watching a yahtzee review of gta 5 and he mentioned that a lot of sandbox games have a paradox: you have complete freedom outside of a mission but once inside of a mission its like a "instruction following simulator",

also being able to complete mission anyway i want with these stealth mechanics is going to be amazing, i just hope that mgs fans don't ruin it with their "suggestions" on how to improve the game play, because honestly, if the phantom pain was released 2 months ago with the same game play as ground zeroes it would probably be one of my favorite games of all time, certainly my favorite stealth game, artist need to be dictators not panderers,

You have no proof that Kojima will even deliver on that, unfortunately. We only have his word and that's unreliable. He has said shit like this before; I'll believe it has absolute freedom and multiple scenarios when shown.

The game is NOT open world, is gonna be the same as the original Crysis, huge areas to experiment diferent ways of action.

I love MGS2, but its true Hal's crying did sound really stupid.
You too have known loss, and that loss torments you still. You hope hatred might someday replace the pain, but it never goes away.

lol I remember my ex-fiancee watching the scene where Emma died. She was laughing hysterically at Otacon and I could see where she was coming from when she said "As much of a bitch I am laughing at someone crying over someone's death, it just sounds so funny". To be honest, when I look back at it, it does sound funny in a way and I felt like MGS4's crying was a bit more natural. Not a lot but yeah...

Pretty much everything. I played ground zeros and the gameplay was really nice. I can't wait to play with a full open world, vehicles,a new awesome cqc sytem, and stunning graphics. Ground zero was amazing so once I get to play the full MGS:5 it will be awesome!

I disagree. The story is amazing in Metal Gear Solid,of course that is in my opinion, and to get to play as Big Boss again is awesome. I see why you could think this but the story in Metal Gear is one of the reasons its so famous. No disrespect, you are entitled to your own opinion. Also I feel that it will be open world. You will be able to free roam around a massive map, inflitrate enemy bases and really do what you want. I'm very happy for this feature.
