If the CQC is a cool as it's suppose to be then it needs serious improvement from GZ. At the moment you just tap R1 and trigger a sort of cutscene like in manhunt or Tenchu. Also I don't think you can engage multiple enemies, you could do it in PW, I want CQC to work like when you engage multiple enemies in prince of persia but with less acrobatic moves.

Well considering TPP is his Project Ogre (despite trying to convince otherwise), that has been in development for awhile.

I wish games weren't announced until about 6 months before release tbh.

Yeah i really want to know when exactly MGS V started the developement. here's hoping for the making of to bring light to this question.

For now i'm thinking they have started after completing the fox engine 2011

But it could be also after peace walker in 2010 alongside the fox engine

We'll see

For a while there, I thought we were getting the whole MGSV in a kind of Tanker/plant thing for a PS4 launch game.

Just saying, Ground Zeroes didn't have flattering sales so yes, not just make or break for us the fans, but probably financially.
Keep in mind that a lot of fans loved three and four. Not on here but in general.

He probably got to work on it after. The writing process or what not. Development itself occurred in 2011.

MGSV is Project Ogre and they were working on it for some time now, i don't know exactly how much time but Kojima presented it in E3 2011 so they probably started it in 2010.

Which must really make TPP huge.

He said that he's afraid some would misunderstand an open world concept. By open world he means you can do the mission however you like. He just put it in wonderful words. This has been done before of course.
LOL so naive, Kojima is backpedaling in the open world thing, always selling bullshit.

"But I haven't lost my skull.."
Big Boss barely speaks or when he does he just states the obvious and his emotional state and verbal opinions aren't at the forefront of the story.

It annoyed me how much GZ said 'starring Keifer Sutherland' after each mission even though he barely said a word.

my biggest fear is that ground zeroes is the best mission

Biggest disappointments would be:

1) Too many cut-scenes,
2) Game-play features that are unnecessarily included/ too little features for actual stealth game-play.
3) A Snake that we no longer recognize.

These features made mgs4 a failure imo (snake been 'old snake' of course), as long as TPP fixes these issues, we should be in for an impressive experience with BB.

Can't lie: even though MGSV shows promise that I haven't seen from Kojima in awhile, I'm still skeptical. I found little details in GZ to really contribute to the overall story, thus redeeming my faith slightly in Kojima. However, I'm still not convinced. I'm still apprehensive that he will let me/us down in some form. Here are a few examples of what I'm worried about:

Kojima gets too focused on the lore/canon that the overall story of TPP suffers to appease preceding games. He does not need to be constricted to the canon.

Skull Face is just Ocelot or Zero playing a part in some scheme against Boss. That or he's actually a fake character, but rather a representation of the brewing evil side of Boss. Essentially anything that would tarnish the buildup of one of the best villains.

Kojima has yet to demonstrate open world fully, base customization/features, killing characters insignificant to the future, bringing a companion, etc. Any feature he has suggested yet not delivered on could be another MGS3/4 where the hype isn't met or it's not included in the final product. This is probably one of my biggest fears, because Kojima still is showing signs of this :GZ is not on graphical level for the initial PAX video that he assured could even be done on PS3.

Any of the ridiculous theories such as body doubles is implemented in some fashion.

Feel free to add/discuss. I'm under the influence so if I missed a previous thread akin to this, please combine mods!
Skullface being zero or ocelot won't happen. Your right though,it would be silly but kojima is smarter than that. As for the body double 50/50. If anything we could play as bb and another character. As for the canon, I do want it to as accurate as possible when tied with the background information we were given in mgs1 I.E Naomi and frank. David being trained by his father bb. Etc etc etc.

Oh yeah, as for my actual complaints/fears about the game:
-Story wise, Kojima will sacrifice logical and good writing for edgy and taboo themes. If those themes don't enhance the story, fuck if I care if it gets an AO rating. Use it properly.

-Big Boss will be some kind of misunderstood hero and its all Patriot propaganda.

-Big Boss won't actually talk much and it would completely throw hiring Kiefer to waste. Lets just hire a talented guy so he won't speak at all!

-Some body double theory bullshit that will make me break the disk.

-The game won't be open world, just a bunch of sand boxes and Kojima will lie about this particular aspect of a Metal Gear game for time number...3, if you don't count MGS: Ground Zeroes.

-Cassete tapes overtaking actual storytelling because Kojima wasn't able to write that shit into the plot properly.

-Zero yet once again, being just there in the background, still being that lame radio guy who had a bad case of Canon Ascension.
I'll add more as I think of more.
what by your definition is open world and sandbox? there is a lot of confusion on these forums about that

I know and i really want to know the difference aswell but i think everyone got his own definition of open world and sandbox here :D

Even Kojima has his own definition which is not open world = big maps. It's also about to have freedom as much as possible within a mission.
