https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRcXKBSWDZY&list=PLNXkAzDcVTxNlxKxgtOtsdI8HsP3JagmG There is a lot of area in the game that is at least 10 times bigger than the game itself. Also in the "Classified Intel Tape" Mission, an Island can be seen in the edge of the world. Normally play testers won't leave large chunks of maps like this but this could be in development that's why they probably left it because it will be a pain programming collision for it just in case something went wrong. Kojima plans to show stuff on E3 with what happened between GZ and TPP. So I don't think we may be just done with GZ yet. Perhaps a huge update? Maybe this is what it is Kojima will show us at E3? Some sort of return to Camp Omega with much bigger exploration and bug fixes? What do you guys think? Edited by Zetheraxza, May 23 2014, 06:01:29 AM.

Someone probably had wayyyy too much free time in their hands. And as much as the other area around Camp Omega is nice looking, there's really nothing interesting to do there since game isn't mentioned to play outside the mission area. And where's the minefield? |

I find it funny how you can cover the base in 30 seconds lengthwise, yet you can do Ten Minutes of running going to the edge and not even including coming back. They didn't utilize the map at all. |

Most likely they were originally planned to let the missions in Ground Zeroes to be open-world and players would be capable of scout the area from the distance, plan which way the should enter the base and such but for some reason it was cancelled but they forgot to remove that other area or kept it as background and didn't expect people to actually hack it - didn't Kojima add death-trigger if players leave the area to avoid further hacking? |

Only for these guys, but they surpassed even the God himself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyn1YEtLuho&list=UUBoX397It-JWM0KRFG-WISA In this video they show how they surpassed KP's patch and went above that. EDIT: Also, these guys are actual Dataminers and they're currently looking for the Medic's Model. Edited by Zetheraxza, May 23 2014, 06:27:42 AM.

Similar thing was in Skyrim (or Oblivion, not sure which one) You can see the other lands of Tamriel but if you find a hole on the invisible barrier you can even walk there, i believe the whole Morrovind & Cyrodil area is walkable, there is no objects to interact with but it seems that The Elder Scrolls Online was originally planned to be created earlier. |

PC hacks are common, Console hacks in the other hand, worthy. Especially when the creator of that game has reputation of screwing and hiding with your fans. |

I guess this further shows you that GZ was infact part of TPP with a bigger, more open experience but then got cut off the rest of the game, same with TPP files being in the datamine. |

There's so much to cover from just that video. But I don't know why there's that Island at 15:35. What significance does that Island have? There are no Islands visible in the normal gameplay even with the Binoculars. There's already water particles in the video but don't know if we can swim yet. We might not be done with GZ just yet, especially when Kojima is talking about the events of GZ and TPP for E3. Any chance that we might be visiting Camp Omega for revenge? EDIT: Or like most of you're saying, just cut content. But professionally speaking, when they have chunks like this they usually remove collision codes there and you fall off right after, therefore just being background but this is a lot of land content. In Skyrim you can't go past Cyrodriil because of Vertical collision. Now if you do, you won't be able to walk on those lands and you'll basically be falling. Removing collision from there would mean that they're no longer and have no plans on using those lands. Reprogramming collision is a lot of work so that's where the theory of this area "maybe" used comes from. It's easier to put buildings and small detailed terrain like rocks with collision rather than reprogram the collision all again. Most planned DLCs have chunks of codes left over from the base game so it doesn't become a pain for them to work on it. Edited by Zetheraxza, May 23 2014, 06:59:19 AM.

I remember seeing an island as you fly away from missions. Isn't that what the rest of this map is? You simply can't have just the base and then nothing. As soon as the chopper takes off or you get high enough to see beyond the base...there would be nothing. There has to be something actually there, i.e, poorly rendered backgrounds you're not supposed to get to. |

Even though this is nothing new for me, it would've been interesting if this was indeed part of the game and it would've expanded a lot more free shit in the game so we could enjoy GZ a bit more. |

Interesting, it looks too detailed to be just filler scenery in my opinion. Maybe this would've been in the Ground Zeroes mission if it was included with TPP? |

Yeah it's nothing there and uninteresting even when it was included in GZ. I hope TPP will not be like that and the world is filled with Life and other things to explore. |

It seems more detailed to me than other filler islands like North Yankton from GTA Online. Plus there's actual interaction with some of the buildings instead of just going right through them. Nothing big but it's something. It probably is just a filler island but it could've been an actual part of Ground Zeroes at one time. Doesn't matter now anyways. |

Exactly. This is interesting to see, but nothing special. The island is the only thing that's not generic-looking, but it's probably just there for background filler. At most it was something they started working on but abandoned a la that island in Goldeneye. |

Y'know what would be funny? TPP would be 200% bigger but hacking would show they have map 100% larger than TPP. Or Maybe TPP isn't that big but all accessible/inaccessible maps would be included as 200% Larger. So Kojima would be lying but technically he wouldn't be. It just saddens me how in the 2012 Demo of GZ the Translator was like, "YOU SEE THOSE MOUNTAINS THERE? YOU CAN CLIMB THERE AND GO ALL OVER THOSE PLACES, FULLY OPEN WORLD" and all we got was an open-exploration base in 2014. Sad when Developers can't deliver what they promised. Never bite more than you can chew. |
