No, it doesn't show that at all. It shows that the game needs background graphics.

Ground Zeroes would've been way better, more enjoyable, and had more replay value if all that land was actually used with multiple guards, AFVs, and buildings/places to hide were added. Like with little camps/mini bases on the way. Hell, some of the side missions even took place outside of the main base so we could actually have different scenarios. Maybe even a side mission with Cuban rebels trying to push the American forces off their island, and the goal was for you to clear their path as they raise hell for miles. And the vehicles would've actually been useful. If the terrain was that big, we could've even had room for a boss fight and maybe an extra cutscene. I can just imagine how epic a sniper fight in TPP can be if done right.
I would still be playing GZ if that was the case, and it would serve better as a prologue to TPP now that you mentioned it :hmm: .

I agree with Se7en here. It would still be TPP on a smaller scale and would add for more replay value.

Yeh the translator said ' you see that ocean there.. you can actually go there'.. lool.

I'm not too sure about this. At the moment, for me.. battlefield 4 is like the perfect game, if only it was third person, it would be the best open world game for me.

I just wish Metal Gear Solid was a revolutionary series like it used to be from MGS1 - MGS3.

Its just ... trying to be like GTA now, and even though MGS Ground Zeroes is gorgeous, it's a waste of a game, there is soo much potential even for a prologue.

Having snake climb hills or something, or introduce us to something that will be in Phantom Pain.

Ground zeroes is a big place. I expect you'll become quite familiar with those hacks as you plan your next video. How and when you make it, well that's up to you.

Now go! let the hacking come back to life!

Its harder to innovate nowadays. Games becomes rooted to their genres than what they were before. Similarities in games will create a norm and people will have narrow expectations as how the game will play out.

Genres have also become a big bloat unlike games in the past where you`d have absolutely no idea what the cartridge would display once it had booted up the game.

Games takes from other games which takes from other games.
In short. You will not see a new FPS game use the square button to fire a gun.

Yes...that's exactly what he didn't say.

"Everything you see down there on the ground, you can actually go there. This is completely open."

And the fact is, you can. They only ever show a small piece of the map. And I don't remember anything about swimming or rock climbing.

They just completely went ahead and jumped the gun on that one haha at that time i bet kojima thought GZ would release with TPP so he just went ahead and told everyone about you being able to fly everywhere in the heli but things changed and now that feature will only in TPP now

Give it till the pp though mate. You might be able to fly to Africa from afghan. This isn't the first time however that kojima has gotten ahead himself for an upcoming mgs game lol

The reason why you don't see an FPS with square to fire is because it would be probably be awkward and less smooth. Gaming is at its highest right now with the indie marketing exploding and we're getting great AAA games too, its not harder to innovate, its all about what the developer is willing to do.

Also how many times will we go over the open world thing guys? :P
Very low chance of it actually being open world like an Assassin's Creed game for example.
Also how in god's name is Battlefield 4 open world? the campaign is linear and the multiplayer just has big maps. That's not really open world.

Come on, you refuse to see that open world doesn't just mean "one map like GTA". Battlefield's online is 100% open world. What about GTA3 and Vice City? Their maps are smaller than some Battlefield maps...that must mean they're not open world? And they have loading screens.

I get what you mean, but if the definition is loss in one's interpretation, then he shouldn't throw that word around.

What!? :D Are you kidding me!? There are only a few people I've ever seen that claim this isn't open world.

The only reason people are saying this isn't open world is so they can say "Kojima lied".
