I want the enemy soldiers to be able to chase you to airducts. I've always hated that the AI can't follow you to them. It's like the enemy soldiers say between each other ''He went to airduct. Let's forget about him.'' How hard could it be to program the AI to get into crawling mode and crawl into the duct? Not probably very hard.

They should just toss grenades in there if they are positive that is where you are at.

Its not a big gripe really, just another 'eh that isn't unrealistic' type of complaint. Of course its not realistic.

Yeah and the grenades should be a ''one hit kill'' considering the pressure of the expolsion is funneled throughout the tight airduct. It kind of defeats the point if grenades in ducts are survivable.

I wouldn't say its 'really needed' though. If its really needed just because its unrealistic, then that means all the other little things that are unrealistic need to be changed. If you do that, it completely changes the balance and feel of the game, perhaps to the point of making it not so fun.

They don't generally look at one specific facet of the game play and make such decisions in a vacuum.

They did this in MGS1 and I think 2 and I know I had at least one guy toss a grenade at me while I was chilling in a vent, though he didn't toss it directly in the vent.

However, it was most likely gotten rid of because it was stupid, the second the guard tossed the grenade into the vent, Snake was already crawling his way through a load screen and making it entirely pointless.

But yeah, think you want total realism in a video game all you want, but it won't really alter the fact that you wouldn't like it very much if they made a game that way.
