I personally don't have a problem with the way the box is being shown at the moment. I really think it's funny how the ppl were bitching about it not being in the game and when we get it it's still not up to their standards lol. but I do understand the backlash considering the serious tone of the game. However It's a simple fix IMO if Kojima is listening to feed back from fans I'm sure he'll fix it simply by changing the game mechanic.my suggestion is once you equip the box you can't put it back into your inventory. Simple fix. When snake is finished using the box he just gets out the box and leaves it there. Or when you pop out Jack in the box style you can no longer use it considering snake practically tears through the top of the box..once the box is worn out you can no longer use it you just have to leave it. Similar to the supressor mechanic. Such a simple fix. It also adds a strategic urgency to pick and choose the situations where you use it. I think that would please the fans who want the box and fans who are upset about the "unrealistic disappearing box mechanic" that we've been shown thus far. Plz lemme know what you guys think |

It's so absurd, I love it. People complain about realism forgot Snake pulls Rockets from the depths of his anus... Also, stuff like the NVG magically appears and disappears when you choose it. At least the C.Box got this quirky animations where it falls from the sky on Big Boss when you equip it. |

i actually thought that the animation for equipping and unequipping the box looked cool, i don't plan on using the box except for maybe seeing if i can scare an animal, i like that its there for the fans though, |

Box did have some usages in previous games. And if there's going to be indoor areas, I could see some usages there as well. |

The whole point of the box is like a series joke. If they make the box "serious," it would take away the entire point of even having a damn cardboard box..lol..thats for fun gameplay, not anything deeper than that. |

You probably haven't tried speedruns in previous games since the box does have it uses in there. It's not a joke. |

This exactly. I'm perfectly satisfied with MGSV having magical cardboard boxes that can fly and repair themselves at will.

I doubt they consider the speedrunners at all when making the game, the box is first and foremost a joke tool to use for fun.
Nice. I'm going to position myself in the box in the middle of a bunch of guards somehow, and pop out the top and immediately kill all of them with strategically placed C4 charges. I'll upload it and use the line from Team America: World Police. "Suprise Cockfags!" |

Oh the cardboard box is classic Metal Gear territory, were people really not expecting it to be in The Phantom Pain. I don't see how this lessens the impact of the tone of the story at all. Previous Metal Gears dealed with strong themes and the humour within the series never diminished the effect. I actually think Metal Gear has always managed to handle humour in a very graceful way, where it is never too overbearing. I think what it comes down to is that if you don't approve of this style of humour, it by no means mandatory, I cannot recall a single moment in prior Metal Gears where you have had to use the box. So if you are really opposed to it, simply don't use it. I for one certainly will be using it, I love the new surprise mechanic and I hope that you can equip it in a vehicle and use that as a fast forward option to travel to another era - like in MGS1 when you hide in the box in the truck and depending on box A, B or C you will go to a different location. To me, it's all these attention to deals which make the Metal Gear series far beyond any other action series. |

I don't see the problem with the box. The CB has always bee a joke item, so why not make it even more silly by having BB be a Jack in a box? It's just for messing around. I never used a CB in MGS games for "serious" playthroughs ( apart from PW co-op RES box) but I love messing with them once I've beaten the game, just to see guards' reaction. |

I don't mind the box tbh, but I never thought it would be this silly. I don't think it being silly is bad, hell, it makes it better than ever. Honestly though, I thought it was only going to be available to take from the environment, but oh well, the box is amazing now. |

You're right - they don't. But they still have gave some time saving features such as quick travel between areas. But keep in mind that in MG2SS it wasn't joke - the box was crucial to complete the game, you couldn't complete the game without it. |

I don't know how people can get upset with a gameplay feature. I think the way the box disappear and appears are fine and i absolutely find it awesome that we can do a surprise attack with the box. |

I just had an amazing idea... what if you can put the cardboard box on top of a sheep to use as a decoy?! I'm serious. It would be great for MGO too. |
