I will always be with you
I always thought of them as rivals or brothers since BB consider the Boss as his mother and Ocelot is her son. But now this whole thing ruined it :P

I think it's a bit more than just respect that Ocelot has for Big Boss. I think you can call it gay?? I don't think I'd straight be like "haha he wants to fuck big boss omg" because I don't think that's exactly what Ocelot's attracted to. It's not sexual at all, I believe. Something about Big Boss's skill, personality and beliefs immediately drew Ocelot but man idk

I think we can all agree though that he has a reverence for him, that was obviously enough for him to do what he did in 4.

Admiration, adoration, platonic love? Think of your favourite artist/person/idol, the one person you look up to most in your life, that's the kind of relationship Ocelot has with Big Boss.

In all honesty, it's a combination of respect, love, worship and admiration.

Kojima's comments say otherwise. I find it very hard to believe that Ocelot 'falling into a dream-like state' as well as comments made by characters throughout MGS3 indicate simply "platonic" feelings. I do think he has admiration and adoration for Big Boss, but i don't think it's just platonic.

And I might be wrong but I don't think you'd screw with your own psyche and basically knowingly throw your life away for just your favorite artist.

Of course, since everything we're all saying comes from our own understandings and not anything "official official", it's still just my opinion.

Love can drive some into retarded situations, Ocelot being a example.
