My point is that GTAV got accomplished without a FOX engine in an allotted time.
...Again, why would this matter?
Rockstar are not Kojipro, the talent, engine, and budgets behind MGSV and GTAV are different, so it's pointless to compare. You can't call the engine a failure when it did exactly what it set out to do: Speed up the development process at KojiPro.

Also, the engine isn't just about speeding up development, the lightning is superb, and they have these awesome Object/Face scanning techniques that result in very realistic models and textures. I'd call that "grand" myself, but I digress.

Let's not forget that the FoxEngine was developed alongside MGSV, so the engine didn't mature while the game was in development.

Konami already said during their fiscal report last year that they were targeting THIS FISCAL YEAR (ending march 2015) for MGSV's release, and the Ground Zeroes DLC already specifically said it would be available by early 2015, so now we're just waiting for them to nail down an exact date.
It wasnt konami who reported this it was someone who sits down in their discussions who has tried to predict MGS release dates fir years and gas come up with mixed results. And im pretty positive that the "Come back early 2015" thing was a hoax because no one here has gotten the same message and the only proof we have is one photo taken by a noncredible source. Anything we have that can be used as evidence of a release date is purely speculation rn. Even the "Coming 1984" for all we know it could be a HUGE troll. Ik kojima said that there were hints in the trailer but again we dont know if he was actually talking about that.
I got that message on mine.. and the weird thing is, I saw that the guy posted what he posted and so I went to check mine. And when I did it said "come back early 2015 to redeem..". Even after he said that it no longer says that and that they changed it to a different message

kojima is incredible! how the fuck have i not seen that?!
Kojima is already depressed seeing GTAV in its next gen version so no, i bet even TPP is lesser in content and openness compared to GTAV.
People talk like Kojima is some kind of God and his engine is the Saint Grail of dev tools that have the secret sauce for the ultimate open world game, open games were made since forever without fox engine.
Fox Engine is just marketing talk so far, the game is taking long, the visual are nothing to brag about, and the game itself aside from fulton animals and crates its not diferent from other open action/stealth games like the original Crysis released seven years ago.

Its not a problem just from Kojipro, every jap. dev team falls short againt the working effectivenes of westerns studios, just look at FFXV of The Last Guardian fiasco, like i said, Ubisoft would have made this game in 2 years max.

Who is talking about shit or great quality games? Im talking about dev time/working effectiveness, 4 Years for just a game is TOO much.
Edit: Ubi is for most part, shit, but oh boy, Kojima is ripping off plently gameplay ideas/mechanics from Ubisoft franchises like Far Cry and the last two Splinter Cell games that is not even funny.

As if Splinter Cell never ripped off MGS. MGS started ripping off SC with MGS3.

The only thing in common between the old school SC games (original/PT/CT/DA) and MGS games are they are both stealth games. Other than that no, SC never tried to copy MGS, heck, one could argue that the original SC games are superior stealth games compared to the Metal Gear IP, if anything the whole serious realistic military stealth angle was started by SC.

I too dont hate you bladewolf (i think life is better spent somewhere else than hating people) just dont see why ya gotta be so negative all the time! Hahaha but SC and MGS have sorta had a give n take relationship right from the start of the SC series i dont see why its such a problem tho. The gaming industry is such a copy cat industry its not even funny. Actually i think most of the world is full of copy cats so seriously i dont think it matters

GTA V took 5+ years for development, so I guess that was just too much and too long, right?

MGS V is massive, in comparison to other games in the series. So if MGS V was as big as MGS 4 or 2, the game would already be complete, but since it's so massive in scale, and that Kojima is taking the time to pay attention to detail, it's taking longer. But imagine if the KP team didn't have the Foxengine, MGS V could take up to 8+ years to complete… So cool your roll, Bladewolf, it takes time to complete a masterpiece.
