Well, what WAS Liquid doing around mg1?
Around that time? MG1 was the mid 90's so I would think he would be in an actual military somewhere. If I recall in his late teens he was part of the SAS, which is British.

In the hospital gameplay, BB looks a lot thinner and in worse shape than how he appears in the Kaz rescue gameplay. I doubt it only took 10 days to recover.

I'm sure it took longer as well. Don't bash me, but bb in the hospital has the... Usual hair. In what we see of the rescue of kaz mission, he has a ponytail.

Boss went hard at the gym. Additionally, he listened to "Eye of the Tiger." Anything is possible in ten days with that inspirational song.

I like this whole 10 or so days thing. Lol but I'm sure there is plenty of cutscenes in between the hospital and the kaz rescue. This is Kojima now. We only know 1/10,000 about this topic, and still I'm sure something is going to blow up in out faces.

In the hospital gameplay, BB looks a lot thinner and in worse shape than how he appears in the Kaz rescue gameplay. I doubt it only took 10 days to recover.
What you're forgetting is that this is a video game, not real life, yes it would've taken someone in real life longer to fully recover from a nine year coma, but in a video game, it only takes as long as the person writing the story wants it to take, whether it's ten days or two months. And as far as we know right now with what information we have, Big Boss very well could've recovered in ten days or less because the fact that Kaz was held captive for ten days when Big Boss rescues him is all we have to go on.

Saying "I doubt it only took a few days, it would've taken longer." holds no relevance, you're arguing against video game logic with real world logic, that's a debate you'll never win because video game logic will always win against real life logic.

Besides, it's already in the established canon that Big Boss made a full recovery from several cracked ribs, a broken/dislocated arm and such within a week, recovered from a horse stomping on his hand in mere hours and recovered from having a poisoned crossbow bolt in his leg within minutes and the severe beating Volgin gave him in hours. After it's shown that Big Boss has a knack for speedy recoveries, is it really so hard to believe that he can recover from a nine year coma in ten days?

Why doesn't it prove there was more time between escaping and rescuing Kaz? Why are you assuming Ocelot was around when Kaz was taken, then rescued Big Boss?

Kaz could have been fine for the months (or how ever long) it took for Big Boss to build himself back up. Ocelot and Big Boss could have been in a different place training. Montage. Fighting tutorial. "Oh shit someone on the radio has said that Kaz has been kidnapped" - "But I'm not used to my arm yet?" - "I think we can deal." - "We!? Me! No way I can, and I'm having trouble remembering things" - "Now go! Bring the legend back to life ;) "

Then bb wouldn't need to be in the coma would he? :hmm:

Gulf war started around 1990 and continued till 1991 which he and Solid were part of but he got captured and wasn't released till he was rescued by the US in 1994, then he returned to the US.

Edit: I've just checked MGS1 briefing which I got my info from. It said he returned to his country so it can be either Britain or US.

Oh okay. It would be cool to go more in depth with liquid and his whole life span. Maybe in a later installment though. I could care less about solidus.

...His hair was already almost touching his shoulders, he could've put it in a ponytail at any point, the only reason he didn't is because his bandanna kept his hair out of his eyes good enough so he didn't need to. Same for Solid in MGS2 and 4, he could've put his mullet in a ponytail to help keep his hair out of his eyes and such, but didn't because his bandanna did the job just as well. Your hair doesn't have to be super long to tie it back like that.

Also, don't double post, we have an edit button for that.

that ponytail is driving the MGS community crazy!!
I wonder what people though about old Snake and his mustache before MGS4 :o
I think they discussed why he had mustache more than why he was that old :P

Haha that's funny! But just like I said in another thread, I'm sure big boss's attire will have a lot more customization options than we have ever had in any prior installment. The ponytail just might be optional. Oh can anyone answer why bb ditches his bandana? I think he did it in pw after the final mg fight but I'm not so sure?
